Congratulations on your new home! I bought my house in 2021. The process was fast. It took about 30 days, here in the US. I love home decorating. I leaned into the era of my house (1950) and also leaned into my favorite colors. I love colorful things, so I have a very colorful house. It makes me so happy. For furniture, I find that I know when I find the right thing. It takes a long time. If I'm waffling about a piece, it means I don't really want it. When I find what I really love, I know it right away! I'm redecorating my bedroom now and I found a quilt I really love and am building everything else around that, from the wall color to the carpet to the curtains, and hopefully even the light fixtures. I think you will love it once you really get into it. Living in the space for awhile will probably point you in a direction.

Congrats!!!! It's hard being a mom of a little and moving. We did that too. Your mind and energy goes towards that and nothing else. It will all relax in about a year, haha! ;) I also learned I'm not into decorating and I just let it go, surrounded it with things I loved. All the best to you all, Kimberly

Congratulations! I was just thinking I hadn't seen a video from you in a while yesterday, glad it was for such a good reason! My home decorating philosophy has always been that if you only buy things you really really love, it may not all fit an "aesthetic" but it'll always look good, especially to you :)

congrats on the new home, Bethany! I am a mortgage underwriter - it definitely sounds like the process takes longer over there compared to the states, but I'm so happy you were able to get your offer accepted! There is a major housing shortage in the states currently coupled with high interest rates, and bidding wars are still happening, so it is so hard for people in our age bracket to buy right now. I hope you enjoy your first Christmas there with your family and that Arthur likes his sweater! Even if it is a dress this year, he will grow into it for sure! Happy to see you back after a great break, missed you!

Congratulations on your home! We moved 12 years ago and i still haven't official decorated. 😅 I know when i see what i really like though, when i'm in friends homes, so i take notes. The last place i visited, the wall decor was genius. My friend loves big cities and a lot of her family's travels has been there. In the corners of each shared room, she has picture collages emerging from the corners across parts of two walls. There is a corner for Seattle (where she meet her beloved), Vancouver BC (more family adventures), New York (a surprise adventure) etc. Being in places that have a wall of shelving or cabinets for books, yarn, etc is always cozy. Especially hiding electronics in a cabinet or closet so it isn't the first thing people see or children see. There are so many colours and styles of decorating, it does feel totally confounding to "pick" one. :)

Welcome back! I've really missed your videos, and it is so great to have my favourite knitting channel to watch on KZread again! We also moved house this summer, it is so time and energy consuming. I can really relate and I am glad you took a break! We are still renovating though, like floors roofing electrics and plumbing. The whole thing unfortunately. That might be the only thing more stressful than moving house. I hope you and your family have many great years in your new home, big congratulations!

So glad to see you again, Bethany. Congrats on your new home!! I know what you mean about the difficulties even deciding on something as small as an Ottoman. I moved into my first apartment almost a year ago and it's still not exactly the way I want it. But slow and steady is the way to go to make sure it's decorated intentionally.

Congrats on your new home! Literally everything you said I said back when we bought our home with a 14 month old. Including the ambulance noises, I do not miss that at all. Don't stress about the decorating. Fill your home with things you love and you'll love how your home feels.

Congrats on the new house! I feel yah, we moved in august/september 2022 and it was so hectic while also being 7 months pregnant. Can't imagine how that would've been with a toddler running arround. Also I can confirm a year later that some things still go unpacked so don''t feel bad xD

Congratulations on your new home!! I so relate to indecisiveness when decorating (and I looove decorating) but I just freeze when choosing something like an ottoman or anything else at all really. Arthur's Panda sweater is going to be adorable 😍 You are endlessly inspiring to me with your work ethic and the creative flow that you share, Bethany~ a break was (and always is) very well deserved! 💕

Congratulations on your house! I really know what you are up to, we've mooved 4 years ago to a new house, new place. And even it's been 4 years now I still don't have everything settled yet :D And the style is still developing. And don't worry about planes - our house is just next to the fire dept so sometimes we have alarms in the middle of the night, but after few weeks you just don't hear it ;)

It’s good to take time to figure out how you’re going to use your space. Measure, think and enjoy the process. Also, decide on a style , color scheme, and purpose. Mine is modern to mid century modern, pastels and neutrals, comfort and storage. Plus! A bright and perfect place to knit.

Congratulation for new home and will come back , I really missed you and missed your chatting.. about what you said about not into decorating your home , I feel exposed ! because I’m the same ! I really don’t gravitate to decorating. I really like minimalism and simplicity when it comes to decoration and a lot of people got upset with me because I really make a really pretty decorative crochet pieces but when I put them in some places in my home, I feel it’s, it’s not working so my house is simple as AF 😅

Nice to see you back Bethany and congrats on the new house. Don’t wait too long with your choices. It took me 20 years to decide on lighting for our bedroom and so we had naked bulbs all that time. In the end we re-decorated the bedroom and I didn’t wait to decide on the lighting I just went for best they had. If I had chosen some cheap old thing 20 years ago it would have been better than naked bulbs. lol. I knew you were wearing a store jumper, naughty girl. Have a lovely Christmas ❤❤

When I bought my first home in the US, it was vacant and between our accepted offer and move in date was within a couple of weeks. I bought my current home in Ireland and it, too was vacant, I was paying cash (my retirement IRA), but it took several months before I was given the keys. Very strange for me…

Congrats 🏡! I’m an expat from the US also, and we bought a house in the UK over the summer - I was surprised how long the process took as well! And I laughed when you mentioned the countless follow-up phone calls you had to make…it was nearly a full time job chasing down our solicitors and banks 😅 But all worth it for a piece of our space, right? All good wishes for your family 🌟

I just moved to a new apartment! We didn’t buy the place did get a huge mortgage because we have a system to pay 50% price key money for 2 years. Everything was done in 3 months because everything is fast in Korea. Moving and unpacking by the team was done in a day. Walls and cleaning took 4 days by pros (a team and my uncle). I know how it feels empty and too big. My secret, we’re almost done organizing but I still haven’t organized my yarns! They got a new room 😅

I'm not good at home decor either! I don't really see the point since I have a lot of disparate stuff and also I feel like it's a waste of money to buy stuff only for decoration. I do think some people create really beautiful home decors but that's far from being in my priorities!

Congratulations, Bethany on your new house! I hope it brings you and your family joy and happiness! Wowza, how time flies! Arthur is 14 months and walking, and my grandson is going to be 1 in a few days and walking with assistance. Seems only yesterday that we were still knitting baby sweaters! I have been doing intarsia knitting baby sweaters projects with design motifs with some puckering for over a year. It has been fun and challenging. I am not very good at yarn management or taken lessons to learn how. I just learn as I go. 🫢 Glad to see you are easing in your new place nicely and enjoying knitting! ❤ 29:32
