Massive thanks to Mountain Bike Quebec and Quebec City for sponsoring this trip and video!
It's time for the epic grand finale of my Quebec City MTB Adventure, and I can't think of a more fitting place than the famously gnarly Mont Sainte Anne. As I mention in this video, MSA got hit particularly hard by the heavy rain in the last few weeks, so for my visit there were a whopping 3 trails open: a green, a black diamond and a double black! Wish me luck... ]

When it looks pretty steep on camera, you know it is super steep in person.

I watched Frank ride this section with Remy Metallier and they ride it like it's a blue tech trail - insane! Kudos to you Alex, that is some tough sh*t man - nice riding!

Dude right!? I saw that too and it really puts it into perspective just how god those guys are
The entire Quebec series was just a blast, Alex!! I was especially laughing my face off in this video since I know those trails and I know it's a miracle each time we come out in one peace!!! Cheers, and you are welcome anytime here in Quebec!!

Was bedridden for almost a year due to long covid and lived vicariously through your videos. Thank you.

"We're doing alright guys".....Don't worry the worst is yet to come aha...That Greg Minnaar section and the following chute on the slab to the north shore bridge took me years to nail. The 1837 is one of our DH gem in Quebec, you did great brother
it's not about the best or worst, it's about having the most fun.
Bro, this trip was so awesome!!! Thanks for showing us some amazing trails we had no clue existed. Sounds like our next trip across the border will be straight north 😎
When the single track sampler posts a video (or Skills With Phil) It makes me want to ride. 💙
Great series. Before this series Quebec was barely on my radar but being in the northeast US I definitely will be making the trip now. Excellent riding and all the food looked amazing.
Dude, I loved this series. I cant wait to see you do a UK trip.
Happy to see that you liked our beloved city and MTB trail. Next time bring an ebike for VBN, E47 and SDM. You will be able to do so much more 😉
Frank! Oh my was he sick. Nice work man. I had my heart in my mouth with your POV. All the videos from this trip have been amazing
Having ridden all this before many times i can vouch and say this stuff looks at least 3 times as ez on camera. The gopro effect is real and huge here!
Nice and flowy. lol Great one, Alex...that shit was gnarly, you done good! Loved the very end...haha!
Super fun series! I hope to see more!
Great riding! You've really come a long ways over the years that I've watched your channel.
Yeah bro!!! That is gnarly!!! You were getting it!!.... Good job man!!!
Major pucker factor over and over again. You did great and it’s wild to see the Delano handling it all pretty well. 👍👍
Epic adventure. Thanks for sharing it, Alex. Massive shoutout to Nick too :D
Also note besides the bike, that Frank goes full face and chest protector. I never understood the pushback on safety gear, but nobody get's hurt without and says "yeah, totally worth it".
Was super fun to have you home Alex! Cheers! Gabe
if you are ever in Quebec again, i think the 2.5h drive down to Bromont in the Eastern Townships is worthwhile. Bromont has a downhill bike park, some gnarly enduro trails, some flowy blue green for the whole family, and even an indoor velodrome, a BMX track, dirt jumps, and trick booter etc! also currently in the process of building an indoor skatepark kind of deal made specifically for bikes

bromont is 50 mins out of montreal, and about halfway between burke and quebec.
I'm late to this party... but I used to struggle with the trail/DH switch. Finally got a Megatower paired with a V10. I know that's not a practical route for most, but those two bikes allow me to switch back and forth in a dingle day without any hesitation. Ride on!
Those trails are not joke. Good job homie, and Frank is a beast. I like to see him ride with Remy.
Ah La Bête! So intimidating.Well done, this ain't easy!
Awesome vid, man. Kudos on riding those trails. Get, Seth, Phil, & Brian out next time to ride those amazing trails with ya...
Delano is a capable trail bike that can do a lot with a good rider like Alex. Nice riding!
Dude that looked soo jank, but man i get so stoked watching your videoes. Loving the videoes from the Quebec trip
Awesome little adventure bro! Thanks!
Awesome video man. Like the one guy said, you inspired me to start riding after many years. And even though I had to sell my bike last year to look after my family, I still watch your videos. Really hoping to get back to riding soon. I really miss it. And you should also come out to Vancouver Island. We have some incredible riding here pretty much year round. Can't wait for your next video
Must remember Frank is on an extreme modern downhill bike with lots of travel while Alex is on a older trail bike so basically with Alex's handicap was right with Frank on the double blacks and may have had a slight edge . Like comparing a hardtails handicap to a full suspension trail bike
That double black looked like a hangover of pain and effort. Hard to focus that fast and long!. Glad you had fun! Ehhh
I’ve always wondered who I could keep up with You, Seth, Brian, BoBo or Kevin. I think y’all all have y’all pros and cons but you just declared you have the biggest ⚾️⚾️. Congrats to you for this sick 💩!!
Sampler skills engaged, Sampler stoke meter pegged. Big day for Sampler!
Mount sainte-anne was one of the first parks i ever got to ride. Lets just say as a newer rider at the time, it was a very very rude awakening into how poor my skill level actually was, it was just so much harder and beyond steeper then anything in any of the other eastern provinces
Crying laughing Alex your bikes got some strange shapes going on 😂
Love this mountain!! Fun fact, Vietnam (yes the whole thing) was actually a stage in an enduro race i recently did
I hope you continue the destination riding. You've definitely earned some travel to places the Van can't take you. I'm bummed this series is over too man!
That single black looked a lot more managable. xD Can't even imagine what it'd be like trying to get down the double black freak-trail!
I'm constantly hooting and hollering while I watch your riding vids, Alex. Seriously feeling the stoke, even with the gopro effect. Keep it up big dawg!
"I'm not doing the drop, but I'm riding the section" 💀
Thanks for all the great videos!
glad you liked here in quebec Alex theses video were awesome to watch make us love even more what we have here at home in quebec !
Always an inspiration! Thanks for sharing! ✌🏼🤘🏼
Awesome dude 🤩🤘🔥
Love these videos!
in otha wordz…dont follow frank 😆
Ive said it before mate this series is your doing is the best mtbing ive seen in years on any channel more power to you
Love your vids!
Might be one of my favorite sts vids. Awesome stuff
Wow 😳. Most of that place is unrideable with my limited skills. Thanks for sharing this with us.
I love this place so much haha, I'm smiling at all of you guys losing your shit riding this stuff, so good !
Thank you for showing the bike, been trying to see what bike that was since the start. Looks nice!
Great video love the Quebec City series. Would like to see a video of your gear you wear and bring on trips and also your bike set up. If you already have a video like that, that I have missed please let me know
So Good Great Video !!
i think frank is a litlle bit crazy roots and flowy OK hahaha nice video
you're an amazing MTB ambassador !
Awesome series!! Gotta hit up Quebec myself
Sampler, this channel got me into mountain biking. This channel got me into vanlife. Because of you (and maybe Seth) my life is pretty cool. You make this shit look good. Thanks a bunch. If you're ever in the Tucson area, beers are on me.

So were you and Brian in QC at the same time? That was some janky stuff on the WC Downhill. Your riding skills have really exploded. Great video.
I’m surprised you’ve never traveled with Brian / @BKXC on some of his international bike tours Great video series !!! 👍🚵🏻❤️
live to ride another day.
myself and a couple of buddies are heading up to quebec next weekend but i think we will be skipping Mont Saint Anne.. looks a little too gnarly for us xD sick videos bro! keep doing you!

Not everything at Sainte Anne is as bad as 1837, there's plenty of trails there for riders of all skill levels. Go there and enjoy! MSA was one of the best mountain bike vacations I've ever had.
You know that when a Frenchman calls it a chicken run you‘re gonna walk that section for sure. But then, the next day maybe the Bray comes along and climbs it. They all nuts.
@23:10..."I got a lot of bleeping to do in this video"....😂 😂
Im really happy that u liked riding in Quebec since i live there and you enjoyed mont st anne its my local trail hope you will come back🤘🏻
Even on the gopro footage it looked scary as hell! Let alone in person🫣
This video is so relatable it’s how I feel when mates take me to a new unsanctioned janky trail 😂 it’s good to do it every now and then 🤣 although yours is a whole new lvl of jank for me hahaha
LETs GO! awesome place
I'm tensed up just watching 🙏🙏
19:23 how the hell does that grip ? It doesn't ... 😂😂😂
Bro that was great content from the views to the oh 💩 moments 🙌way to ride that death trap brother
btw Franck called this flowy 😂😂
You should come and check out Durango mesa bike park.
🔥🔥🔥
Room tour with the room already lived in. A Very sampler style tour.
Basically: Heres a rock garden. Ride.
awesome Epik vidio lovet
Dude had 180m of travel on that bike. Made it look easy
passing on the 200 mm downhil machine because the 130/150 one feels "home" ... many people undersestimate what you can do on a trail or all-mountain bike
Next time you’re in Québec you need to ride at Mont Ste-Marie and Camp Fortune.
« 1837 » on an enduro bike is really hard! I did it once and I don’t know if I’ll do it another time…
I would imagine that's what it's like trying to keep up with Phil too. That dude is greased lighting on a bike. Dude floats over the rough stuff like it's not even there.

U should come ride the highland rec area in highland Michigan

Does anyone know what rear shock Frank is using? So crazy how in MTB you can feel like you’ve gotten pretty good at riding, but they’re are so many freaking levels of riders that are just so much better. Like I feel like im a half decent rider and I know Alex is better than me… and then there’s Frank. What a beast
Loved seeing an un domesticated not groomed trail.
hah! I was wondering if you and @bkxc were going to bump into each other there
🙏🙏🙏

It was organized by Quebec City Mountain bike, they invited many youtuber this summer as a publicity stunt to increase MTB tourism in the region. When you think about it, a week a riding here will cost about 200$ in tickets, but 1500$ in restaurants and lodging. So it really bring money in. KZreadrs are a really good way for targeted marketing at a cheap price, while putting smile on their face and the people they encounter that follow them.

I personally would be concerned about the trail ride if my guide who I know is a better rider, showed up in back and chest protector. Time for a LaSal?
Hey I got a question, whatever happened to that beautiful canyon strive? Bared the north shore and A line, crashed it at berm peak, made a couple vids with it and then poof! And where’s the bike check on the fezzari?! I cant just go off of a quick glance from the e-bike video!! The people need answers!
What is the name of double black you did ? I didn't catch it. Even on camera it looked insanely hard. I am definitely not there yet !!

1837. I've only ridden it twice when I was younger & dumber, I'm not riding it again at my age. It ain't worth the hospital trip.
I don't get people who complaint about the bite of Shimano brakes. Just don't pull hard and they won't grab that much. I use Saints with 220 rotors and I'd prefer to have two or three times the initial bite they have. Since I'm not a devout fan of any brand I also tried some Sram and Hope brakes that people praise for better modulation and they were outright painful to use. While they can provide the braking force I need that happens only if I pull so hard that my fingers turn blue. BTW I like that Frank guy, he knows what's up!
@The_Sampler
10 ай бұрын
I'm not complaining, just saying I'm not used to it. The first ride on something different to what you're used to is always going to require adjustment, and a DH park is probably not the best place to do that lol
@frankthetankricard
10 ай бұрын
@@The_Sampler Yeah that's a great point, I'm sure you could adjust in some time but no need to fix what's not broken. People often make it sound like it's impossible to get used to Shimano brakes and my comment was addressing them more than you.
@SsmAnyfeSt

@@frankthetankricardI had shimano saint for 2 years and never got used to it! I bought hope as soon as I had enough money and couldnt been happier! Im a shimano xt fan boy but not for the brakes! Lol
