Technically they did sorta hold a grudge. They stayed away from the pop trolls for generations. All the other trolls did. But here's why they decided not to continue holding the grudges. The Pop queen instantly accepted them. She wanted them all to become one because "we're all the same". But their reply to her was "Anything but that...." After she was corrected, and told it's ok for us to be different, and our differences should be celebrated, she changed her perspective. And wasn't stubborn. Pop queen instantly accepted the truth of what her people did to the others, and she wanted to make it right. She didn't try to fight them or deny what really happened. When that happens, it's easy not to hold grudges. Funk city was even able to build their own society in peace without constant harassment and attacks. So everyone grew up there free from the constant oppression of the Pop trolls, who stole music, kept it from everyone else, and called everyone else's creations their own. But had pop queen stayed stubborn, put her foot down, refused to acknowledge the truth, continued to push her peoples revisionist history, dismissed the feelings of the other groups, OR tried to treat them bad or take from them again, it probably would have been different. Are there would have been grudges. When the offending party makes things right, the grudges begin to go away. Because people can heal.

This movie, this scene specifically, is honestly so beautiful. I love how the funk trolls acknowledge the past and don't forget, but they don't hold it against the new generation of pop trolls who had no idea about the history. How they explain to Poppy "but we are different" and how she learns that it's not a bad thing. The funk trolls are my favorite because they really are good role models. They respect the other music styles, even with the past and they embrace their differences and spread love as much as they can

I love pop, many forms of rock, country, techno, reggaeton, k-pop, jazz, I love a bunch of iconic classical and a few funk songs as well. I guess my problem was I’ve always had a hard time identifying Funk. But I think TWT helped me get it, Funk is a kind of music with a beat you want to dance too but mellow, not hyper like pop or rock tend to be.

That One was telling a story inside the movie's universe. This one is more like a real World version
