Well, they species was incredibly xenophobic and didn’t share much with others. So probably only the republic forces who were there and high ranking officials knew of their advanced tech.

@twistedyogert, In the end, it was probably for the best, as the Galactic Empire would’ve put these vehicles to good use for purposes of inflicting fear and death upon anyone who tried to rebel against them. Just imagine what would’ve happened to the Rebels in the Battle of Hoth if the Empire used the Umbaran Heavy Mobile Cannon instead of the AT-AT

The empire actually made their own version of the mobile heavy cannon, it was in the old Star Wars commander mobile game. Although I don’t think it was as powerful as it’s inspiration

​@@matthewpaulsen673 You'd have to sacrifice some power if you wanted them mass-produced on a galactic level. Plus The Empire didn't really need to use it's weapons due to the Tarkin Doctrine working so well, so it makes sense.

This technology put the hurt on Republic forces. It wasn't just the environment, the aggressive tactics of Pong Krell, or the Umbaran militia. The technology used by the people of this planet was completely unknown by the Galaxy. Because this technology was powerful and advanced, the clone troopers had a very hard time trying to take them down and keep up. This is the biggest factor that made the Battle of Umbara so costly and bloody. It's possible the Umbarans could have wiped out the majority of the 501st legion or the 212th attack battalion.

If the Umbarans weren't xenophobic and if it weren't for darth sidious's machinations these technological monsters of the Umbaran Militia would have given the Confederacy a HUGE strategic and tactical advantage and that would have been a nightmare for the Clone Troopers across the galaxy.

There's one critical thing that's easy to overlook; the Umbaran's use of Combat Stims. That's what would have been their downfall if it came down to a war of attrition probably. (They're unsustainable due to being stimulants, and would have caused insanity eventually.)

To me, everything about Umbaran tech is really cool but also has a slight uncanny valley effect (just like regular Umbarans.) Even the concept of moving an aircraft with almost "hologram" controls. Between that, the poor clones being massacred, the damn *insect monster,* Umbara was one of the darkest parts of the Clone Wars TV show (pun 100% intended.) Edit: The more I think about it, most of their tech almost feels like it's from Warhammer 40k. It reminds me of Necron gear a little. Also the reason The Empire didn't use them is because the STCs were lost during the battle.

I can see the Rebel Alliance obtaining Umbaran tanks and ships, and that the Umbarans would keep fighting the Empire like they did against the Republic.

Eh maybe they’d obtain a few and use them sparingly so they wouldn’t go to waste, but given how unique and powerful Umbaran tech is, I can imagine the Umbarans being rather protective of their own technology and normally unwilling to share with outsiders.

Sidious most likely took care of Umbara. That bald woman next to him in the senate, she's an Umbaran, so he knows about them. I doubt he'd want to use their gear either since it'd be something he didn't fully understand

Even after the Clone Wars, the Umbarans fiercely resisted the occupation of both the Republic and the Empire. This would have been a game changer if the Rebels got their hand on this tech. Unfortunately, the downside is that none of the mechanics and engineers in the Rebellion would know how to fix, maintain, or build these machines since the Umbarans know this tech and are the only ones that know how to operate it.

I love the umbarans military tanks and weapons they are so wild and so unique l wish we seen more of this Advance technology star wars

I'm assuming the Republic (and later, the Empire) just saw these tanks as too expensive and complex. Now, given the wealth of the Empire, and their many resources, slave labor being a major one, I don't see why this would've been a problem.

The Empire didn't need to use it's weapons much until The Rebel Alliance got rolling, and even then Sidious underestimated them. Doubt he thought it was worth the time. Plus it'd be new(ish) tech to him, and as a result he'd not know *everything;* something he would never want. Plus at the end of the day, Exterminatus via an attack moon is a lot more terrifying.

Some of these vehicles make the AT-AT and AT-TE or Juggernaut look as simple as a slugthrower pistol!

Honestly the tank is just terrifying especially that one scene where it vaporized so many troops at once.

​@@XXMatt0040XXa Necron gauss weapon will tear your body apart at an atomic level. They do that to harvest biomass. It's especially dangerous towards the Orks, Tyranids, and Dark Eldar. The Orks won't be able to produce spores to spawn more Orks, the Tyranids can't devour the Necrons or their dead Tyranid brothers, and the Dark Eldar can't come back from the dead if their bodies are completely destroyed.

When I first watched the Umbara ark as a kid on CN, seeing those Crawler Tanks and MHCs didn’t scare me per se, they were however quite unsettling. The way they were presented too just wreaking havoc with little effort on the poor clones who had no firepower or breathing room to fight back effectively, made me tense as a kid.

If the Umbarans mass produced these and sold them to the CIS the Republic would have been doomed in almost every battle these guys were deployed onto. Good thing the Republic won the battle, things could have been a lot worse had these things gotten off Umbara. Luckily, or unluckily, Empire at War has a mod or two that allows exactly that. And it is just as terrifying as you can imagine. Thank you Republic for preventing things from going bad to worse durinb the war.

They’re probably my favourite aesthetic in the franchise. Just imagine what their spaceships would look like!

I always thought it was weird that these umbarans had such crazy advanced weapons and tech, And we’re never heard from again after the clone wars. Like, where were these guys during the the Imperial period? The GCW? A lot of that stuff would have been very helpful for either the rebels or the empire. or both stealing and reverse engineering the tech for themselves.

This battle reminded me of the old Robotech anime. Both armies have comparable technology. But one side is substantially more sophisticated.

The burrowing Insect tank Takes care of infantry , The long ramge Hover tanks takes care of Enemy Armour ,The Heavy Cannon tank acts as both a Armor shield and heavy cannon

Just imagine this tanks alongside collicoid anihilator droids, protodekas and geonosian super tanks

That thing would've been the Republic Armor's worst nightmare in all six legs. Also the question is why didn't the Empire use them as well?

The Empire actually did use one of those tanks against the resistance on Umbara. They even deployed some of them on different worlds as well. But I think they were expensive to produce and so not that many of them were created

I can do you one better: Why the Republic never used the Umbaran tanks, warships and weapons when they had a chance? Also, if Senator Mee Deechi did not die and Umbara did not secede, will this lead to the eventual Separatists to invade Umbara anyway? Edit: Can the MHCs take down Imperial walkers such as the AT-ATs?

the IAT seems to have a lot of potential to carry troops in the inner segments. they can burrow, storm straight through enemy lines and provide cover fire. imagine what would happen if this was the separatist counterpart of the at-te, attacking republic positions as soon as the first ships land

Joey was a Jedi that existed during the Clone Wars Era, and he did not have a good life. From having a Terrible Childhood from his Abusive Parents, when he was recruited to the Jedi as a Padawan, he had hope that his life would be better. (It didn't get better). Joey was assigned as the Padawan for a Jedi Master who I didn't give a name to. (I'll call him Nameless) Nameless was a Professional at Form VII: Juyo/Vaapad (The Aggressive Style) and decided to use it on Not just his Enemies but to Joey. For the next few years, Nameless made Joey's life worse. He would burn Joey with a Lightsaber either to wake him up from his bed, to unjustly punish him or for no reason, verbally berate him for the smallest mistakes or Physically beating him with anything, Sandals, belts, whips, Lightsabers etc. Eventually Nameless would die by the Jedi when they found out he was with the Separatists and was killing his Clone Squad. Flash Foward years later and Joey has become a Jedi Knight and decided to use Nameless' abusivness towards the Jedi. Some of these Include: Physically hitting them (Mainly upside the head) Slamming Aayla Secura's head onto a table so hard he broke her nose Calls Plo Koon and Kit Fisto gay Calls Mace Windu "Baldi" and Dropkicked Anakin so hard, he Broke his Back Eventually, The Jedi fought back and stopped Joey's Abuse, But that caused Joey to have PTSD of his Past and leave the Jedi Forever.

Imagine an AU where the Empire deployed all 3 of these vehicles and cannons at the Battle of Hoth.

The holographic control interface is quite revolutionary in terms of military tech. However, it is very difficult to master as we have seen Fives and Jesse take on the Umbaran starfighters for the first time in the battle of Umbara.

The Confederacy greatest advantage was to use hundreds of thousands of both battle droids and tanks in scale battles, and that means that everything has to be cheap to make and cheap to replace, while the Umbarans made some of the most effective and terrifying weapons and tanks they look to be very expensive and too complicated to replace or make.

It's strange the empire or Republic didn't have these cool tanks and vehicles in their arsenal considering how powerful they are but that would break lore canon in legends and Disney Star wars.

The MHC sounds more like mechanized artillery like our M109 Paladin

Agreed, although luckily for the republic, due to their swiftly imposed blockade and reconquest of the world, prevented the Umbarans during their brief time as members of the separatist confederacy from being able to get any of their creatively innovative tanks or design blueprints for them off world to make a difference to the separatist war effort in any way.

Because it was made for clone wars show, and tbh would probably break star wars if used in certain scenarios in older movies and media etc

Would assume Umbara being isolation minded was like the people themselves felt similar about most of their tech leaving the planet too. Then again, what is designed for an works awesomely on any given planet could prove the absolute WORST death trap on others given how huge the rest of the universe is. Would think the GAR would try an figure out what the Umbarans got right that they sorely lacked an reverse engineered THAT into Republic versions which is typically how wars sea saw as each side slowly figures the other side out along with what they've been doing wrong in any given area

How much you want to bet if we got another Lego Clone Wars video game that focused on the other seasons outside of 1 and 2, that for the Umbara levels a Crawler Tank would be a mini-boss that would separate into individual segments each with their own health bars, like that Charoit Heartless boss in Kingdom Hearts 3's Rrepuzal level.

Well, we don't even know how good the Umbaran tanks are against Republic tanks like the At-te's, after all, blaster cannons from a starfighter were enough to penetrate the armor of the Umbaran tanks. So a mass driver cannon like the one on the AT-TE should be more than enough to destroy such a tank. And most of the Umbaran tanks were destroyed by foot soldiers with no fire support, poor morale and bad leadership (Pong Krell).

I don't think the Republic won the battle of umbara through stronger willpower, more like a higher threshold for casualties. The umbarans, like many separatist worlds were fighting for their homes. The Republic was fighting for its wallet

You know, I’ve always had a little trouble with how Geetsly portrays the Battle of Umbara. To be fair it is a full-scale invasion like how the CIS did to Republic worlds in the first half of the war, but I’ve always wondered why they switched sides. Their senator wasn’t murdered because of politics, it was because he potentially could have identified a murderer. And given how Umbaran culture prioritizes social climbing via dirty and unethical tactics in their caste society, I would think they be too invested in the Republic to leave it. Especially after the Republic was buying more clones than ever. Wouldn’t it be in the interest of the Umbarans to stick with the Republic and grow in influence by equipping the GAR with the vehicles in this video? Now my theory is that after Umbara had an election for a new senator, this new politician convinced Umbara to switch sides. Maybe the new senator was a closet Separatist or was approached by Dooku. Either way, Umbara switches sides. But what argument would the new senator use? I think Umbara switched sides for similar reasons to the corporations who joined the Separatist Council. Growing in influence. Maybe the Umbarans figured the Separatists would value them more, especially as the Republic was starting to be on the offensive. What I’m getting at is that I’m doubtful the Umbarans switched sides for moral reasons. They seem more similar to the Zygerrians in motivation than with the Quarren.
