    I just found you r channel and hearing about your in-depth research reminded me of what I'm doing now. I am in the early research stage regarding parrots/birds and I have really spent an insane amount of time doing the research. As you said, these birds live a long time and I don't want to make a mistake or have any regrets. I have narrowed down my choices to a few different birds and Pionus is definitely one of them. I won't lie, the fact that they aren't usually good talkers is one thing that's a small negative, but usually birds that aren't the most talkative are also quieter overall most of the time. I know that even species' that are known for talking, are still no guarantee to talk for anyone but I still am hanging onto that hope for now. Regardless of which species, it seems that males are usually the better talkers so you have a fair chance of your bird talking a bit. You have done a great job with your boy and I'm looking forward to catching up on your videos. Congratulations. Liked and subbed. 🦜👍

    What a fantastic species. Enjoyed your video. My baby pionus taught himself potty. I just had to tell him how awesome he is and that was it. One thing I have noticed is that my Pionus does not like loud noises. If so turn on the TV or have a conversation on the phone, he will let me know. What a little gem:

    I had a Whitecap, named Radio. I hadn’t been to get her wings normal wings clipped and the wind caught her and took her. By the time I found her it was too late. Now, I only have a male Eclectus. He is such a beaut💚💚💚💚

    Thanks for this video! Everything from your research, reasons for buying him, and actually being able to find one feel like the same experiences I had. I found and bought a 5 month old white cap named Jiminy, about 1 month ago. Pretty amazing how consistent their behaviors are. Yuki sounds just like mine. They're wonderful birds. Wishing you all the best!

    YES, we want all the reno content !! I'm not too into birds but my best friend is so I've collected some basic knowledge over the years of interacting/pet sitting hers. Can't wait to see how you're gonna develop this relaitonship as you have with the girls. I didn't understand, are his feathers cut at the moment ?

  • @BuildYourTribePodcast

    His "flight" feathers are cut, currently. We wanted him to be fully fledged (meaning that they allow his feathers to grow out when he's born and never cut them), but the breeder cut them for his safety. We will now allow him to grow them back out, and once he does, he'll be able to fly!

    sí, es normal que tengan algo de verde en la cabeza durante los primeros años. Una vez que alcanzan la madurez, su cabeza debe ser completamente blanca, pero cada ave es diferente.

    I would have liked to see your night time cage and shower stand and known what brand and size of pellets you are feeding.

  • @brockjohnson3575

    @brockjohnson3575

    Күн бұрын

    Yuki’s nighttime cage is a much smaller cage (about 2.5 feet tall x 1.5 feet wide x 1.5 feet deep). The shower stand has 3 large suction cups and a rougher, nail-file-like perch so that it’s easier for him to grip. His pellets are medium size, we used to give him large pellets (because he prefers them) but he would waste a lot more by breaking them in half and dropping them lol Hope that helps!

    @@brockjohnson3575 Thank you for the reply. When I referred this video to my daughter, she said she'd already watched it. Also, she envied your large open space for the parrot playground. Her sweet baby WCPionus will be weaned and going home with her in a couple of weeks.
