I rarely use my phone outdoors unless it has a practical function (such as the built in torch), I can't tell you how many times I'm out walking and people have headphones/eyes locked onto their digital lives. An example of which is there was a girl one time, public park, it was late evening so it was dark but I only noticed her because of the street lights near the bench she was on. My environmental awareness kicked in and I thought it only takes a certain individual or a group with bad intentions and it's the next story on the local news for the wrong reasons. Then you have folk who block doorways/passages just to talk/idle without consideration for others, people sitting on electricity boxes on footpaths idling watching their lives pass by and your common small minded people who I'm convinced were born into this world to negatively impact others. Bro, in this society we have people who are so lazy to even pick up after their dogs... lol. Alas, there can't be winners without losers... Right? Hitting off your point of "zero competition", there's a clear lack of urgency and all you need to do to know this is observe your surroundings.
