I'm an old school boxing fan who grew up watching Ali, Holmes, Hagler, Sugar Ray, Duran, Tommy, Evander, Lennox, Ray Mercer, Morrison, Big George, Cooney, Norton, Shavers, Ron Lyle...of course Mike...and many more.... I haven't really followed boxing in 20 years... This fight brought back memories of how great boxing is... I never heard of this guy before but I have great respect for him after hearing his description of the sweet science... It's nice to come back to this wonderful sport once again... Godspeed brother Greg...

It’s all about money and promotion now. Potential fighters have many more options in other sports. There is no sense of desperation and commitment , unlike fighters of the past . Among the fighters you mentioned, besides the artistry of Ali, Hagler is the epitome of a warrior,no one comes close. You must be familiar with the story of his jaunt through notorious gyms of Philly to make fights. Hagler made sure hometown decision will not be a factor.

This fight was rediculous, I mean you seen Hagler Hearns, Duran Leonard. The skill level in this fight was rubbish, even by Haney who is pretty good technically,But the way Garcia turned his back, and Haney couldn’t figure nothing out.Abit of panic too, scared to catch a counter as well. But Garcia done nothing while in that position, and Haney looked clueless and sloppy .looked like a school kid.The excitement came from the hard shots , knockdowns and a bit of shock factor, neither would engage and exchange, and it’s not age.Duran-de Jesus 1.They were younger, phenomenal skill and grit.Leonard and Benitez were younger, again 2 tough skilled dudes.I think this really put boxing down, And is a reason slot of MMA guys think boxing is soft.

I’ve been waiting on Mr.Hackett. Love this channel and his commentary. Dock has reffed quite a few other big matches. 3lbs by itself is not going to make or break you. HOWEVER draining yourself to make weight HEAVILY affects your power, stamina and ability to recover. Ryan remembered how he felt with Tank and out hustled the Haneys. He didn’t care about the belt and never intended to make weight. He knew Dev would though

He fought relaxed because he knew it.

Nah man, The fight was supposed to be at 135 for Tank's Belt.... that was the original agreement Ryan asked for the catchweight to come in heavy.... If you are a boxer you know when a fighter ask to come in heavy you can expect them to be super heavy in the ring cause Ryan is naturally bigger... Tank also knew that Ryan like to party during his fight camps so He wanted to make sure Ryan didnt come in ring a middle weight.... Tank is not a big dude. Anndd Just by fighting Ryan hes already giving up Height, Reach, Speed, and Weight So Ryan had all the advantages. Ryan wanted a Catchweight, Tank wanted a rehydration limit. it was mutual. well no really cause Ryan practically had all the Physical advantages. Really Ryan was the genius.... cause he had something to fall back on if he loss. Thats why he threw out there immediatly at the press conference. Just like the Devin fight. He played Crazy just in case he loss he have something to fall back on.

It was a poor decision for Devin and Bill to take the fight after Ryan missed weight. Anyone who knows boxing understands these fighters starve and dehydrate themselves to make weight. Most times the last 5 pounds are the hardest to lose. Ryan knew he could run Devin over if he came in at 143 and then rehydrated up to whatever weight he felt best. that is what he did. Devin on the other hand killed himself to make the weight - then got finessed into taking an unfair fight because this was the biggest moment of his career. You forgot to mention how Devin hydrates to damn nearly what?? 160 during fight nights. Against Loma, he was the bigger man, but against someone his own size and age like Ryan G, all that shit went out the window.

When Haney fought Prograis, Haney was on fight night 165 and Prograis 156.8. And before the fight vs Ryan Haney said it don’t matter what weight he come in I still gonna win. And now he lost he and the Haney fans making excuses. 3 pound overweight is nothing, and Ryan was wearing pants and shoes and drink a bottle with some apple juice and sparkling water. I’m glad Ryan knock down Haney multiple times and git the W so he can shut Bills mouth because he was running his mouth to damn much and was disrespectful to other people for no reason.
