Were very privileged to watch Clark, and the team do the trap lines..Clarks dogs are an intriguel part of the success ..Clark covers himself in the smells of his dogs.. A best moments of Skunk would be fitting...He was very Special Dog !
So glad to see another one from you, mate. Stay strong, we all need men like you to look up to. Praying for you, Clark.
RIP Skunk 🌹

So sorry for the loss of Skunk. He was a proper character
RiP Skunk - he had a good life.
Going to miss that Skunk , dog of a lifetime. Brandon had a great teacher .
From little pigs big pigs grow 😂 got that tune stuck in my head lol
Im born and raised in Ontario Canada. I'm a deer hunter. Although I prefer a clean heart lung shot that puts the animal down on the first shot, I understand that is not always possible. And I understand that trapping is different. It is what MADE Canada. The Fur Trade. Voyageurs. Our First Nations. SURVIVAL.and reality. So I commend you for protecting youre land, AND your environment. People don't get it. We who hunt and trap contribute SO MUCH MORE to Mother Earth, Conservation, Preservation and a better way of life than those who are against us. Feel good with who you are and what you do. You are on Nature's side and that is what is important.
So sorry to hear about skunk, he was my favorite to watch! You could tell he was dirty smart and had a human like personality!!! I run big game hounds in northern Utah and have lost some great ones over the years and know just how u feel. There are best friends, a bond that is only achieved through countless hours of working together and sharing every emotion together through the many different hunting and life situations you share over the years! He will be missed but will live on through his pups! The rewarding part now is seeing who will step up and fill those big shoes. Every time I lose my top hound, I think my pack is going to be in ruins, and every time one of the other dog steps up and becomes the leader! My guess is my boy Brandon! Sorry again Skunk will be missed! Cameron Adams
Good work mate.
RIP Skunk! Clark, sorry for your loss mate, you love ya dogs. Your care for them shows through every video. I agree woth other commenters, Brandon is very well suited to step up with Waylon close behind. I will continue to enjoy and look forward to each and every video you produce for us Clark. Blokes like you are rare these days. I hope you find some one to pass your experience and knowledge onto, so that your work can continue into the next generation. All the best cobba. Richard from Down Unda.
WELL DONE
Gonna be hard not seeing skunk …what a great dog …so intelligent….all the best mate .

More to come!
G’day mate. I Hope your doing well with the loss of skunk. I was at a gathering yesterday, and we were talking hunting and beer talk, and a few talking about high powered rifles and what’s better etc. and I said some people use a .22 with some pigs ( also to bait these guys ) and they swore black and blue it can’t be true, bet a beer jug on it, and pulled up some of your videos shooting pigs with your Bruno. They went quiet. I owe you a beer jug haha
As you said cobber. Never give up. Job well done. Skunk will always be around while we talk about him mate.🤠
Persistence pays off, great stuff.
Good by, Skunk.
Watch every episode mate. Two questions please...can your dogs catch mange or any nasties from the dings and how the hell do you remember where your traps are ? Cheers

Have to watch them closely for the mange. We use Avenza mapping to assist with or planning

Another Cracking Ep Master Trapper
Thanks clarke
Are they border collie crossed yo some pitbull? Also do the dingo crosses always revert to small dogs? It would be nice if rancher would do Regenerative Agriculture. I see many are switching. Perhaps mention to ranchers.
That log walking shot is awesome and of course it's so very sad that Skunk looks up and we know he's gone. What a great dog he is. Has he any sons and daughters?

We have an excellent long daughter from Skunk and some sons with other people which are shaping up well. We will mate young Moss when she is old enough to Brandon.

Hi, I've just found your channel today and subscribed. I'm enjoying watching and learning your variety of techniques etc. trying to nail these dogs. Please excuse my novice question but to me there's obviously an interest in the dead pig with the entrails spread out around the sand, why wouldn't the dogs be attracted to a couple of your earlier shot pigs dropped in and around the same area with perhaps some more traps? Is it because your scent would be part of the situation and they'd be repelled by that? I'm genuinely interested and look forward to the answer in your own good time, no rush. Keep up the good work. Cheers mate. Love your dogs :)
It's hard graft when they are crafty bastards. Percy Veerance pays off in the end.

How are your dogs crossed up

One very very small % of Australia Koolie, Grandma was 1/8 but she threw a distinct style of dog that I have managed to capture. Our main line goes back to Scott Lithgow with two original dogs, one black and white, the other tri coloured.
I have a question for Clark: is there any evidence of rabies in the wild dog population? Thanks.

Not in this country thankfully
You can get an expensive soft case to hold your rifle that will zip up and seal the dust and even rain out to keep your rifle cleaner. Not sure they sell them in your part of the world but they are readily available here in the USA. I would think you can buy one there somewhere, but don't know. I use them for my own guns when i am in the truck, works great to protect your weapons.

Most of the soft cases I have used fail on the zippers so I use the Kolpin gun boot case but need a second one. Can't seem to find them here anymore

I am in Florida and it is plenty wet and yet sometimes dusty here too. I have known men who build a water tight tube of large PVC pipe with a solid cap on the one end, and on the outer end, they have a snug fit coupling with a handle on it to enable them to pull it out easily. Dress the inside up some and it works great! Just a friendly idea that might help you some.
You don’t find snakes in that grass chasing pigs?

Research shows that the majority (64%) have less than 15% domestic dog in them, so 2 out of 3. That means 1 out of 3 has more than 15%, 1 out 3 has a splash (10% +/-) and one is pure. On the Eastern seaboard of Australia, the average of mix is higher.

@@ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry In South Africa we have problems with the local population's dogs (Africanus) that kill farmer's cattle, sheep & game (antelope & deer). No matter how many you shoot, tomorrow it will be replaced by 10 other - the locals have no accountability and they also use the dogs for hunting/poaching!
Is this his last vid, Clark?

If you know anything about the power of a dogs nose you know trying to mask your scent with gloves is useless. We can't begin to fathom how much better they smell than we do.

Exactly. There is so much more to it but a lot of people try the easy fix
Do the wild dogs take down any Pigs, and when you take down a wild pig do you just leave the remains of the pig to try to lure the pigs to the trap
