I’ve seen a lot of bar lock style knives that have lock stick when you first get them. I’m not sure if it’s needing to wear a path or what it is, but it doesn’t usually dissuade me on the bar locks. I’ve not had a single one that didn’t wear in well. Liked and subbed, thanks for the vid.

I usually don't mind lock stick but on an axis lock I'll probably pass for now. I really want a michrotech folder. One of the major selling points on this knife for me is the ambi pocket clip since I'm left handed.

i have no trouble flicking this knife open (6.3 guy with big hands) and either they fixed the sticky lock issue or i was lucky, absolutely smooth lock on mine, better than any bm ootb. the spring could be stronger though.

That blade finish is pretty nice. 16 places to stick your torx bit seems like a lot :D

Exceptionally good knife, especially the polymer version bringing great blade steel and some titanium to sub $200 unlike Benchmade, I applaud this effort.

Sharpie or pencil the lock surface on the blade and that will help with the stick until it breaks in. I dont mind stick, makes it seem more secure to me. Great video. Subscribed

I don’t know why you KZreadr knife reviewers think that everything’s gotta flip out or either you think it sucks…You can stick your finger in the blade opening hole with your thumb and pull the knife straight out until it locks up without all of those errors. The kind of lock that it is which is similar to the Spyderco ceramic ball bolt lock & it’s not made for flipping out like that, it’s for having a strong lock up, and if anything will slow down the speed of flipping it open and then it bouncing back without locking up which is just wear and tear on all the parts on most knives.

after many months of owning this. I've revised my first impressions. At the end of the day, It's a solid knife, and a cool design.... it's just too big for me personally🤣

From what I’ve seen with other ppl it looks like the v2 got some fun lockstick. Maybe adding all the screws caused it unintentionally…

I could have inserted so many “That’s what she said!” remarks while editing this video. 😂😂😂

Looks like a big awesome sticky knife. Pretty cool. Definitely don't pay scalpers more than it sells new for. Let them keep it.

The coating on the blade needs to be polished off and the action gets very good. It's dirty as hell out of the factory. The deployment is a bit weak due to the ram lock design, but mine operates smooth as glass after I "fixed " it.

Dang bro. That is a lot of stick. Mine didn’t have that but I did need to tune the pivot to improve the action. It is a big boy.

It was announced at $250RRP by Microtech so you'd expect retailers to come in cheaper. Though another reviewer paid $300.... Crazy. Also on the lockstick, i have the same issue with the Benchmade 940-2 which is apparently common.

I wonder if its the 2nd gen ones with the added hardware that have that lock stick. Mine is a first gen without the 2 added screws on either side of the lock. Mine has no stick and super smooth.

The Rockwell and Para 3 are close in size. I'd suggest using the Para 2 instead. Just a suggestion

I’ve been torn between the Stitch, Amphibian, and MSI, and this has given me more encouragement to get the Stitch.

That's real unfortunate. I thought these would have great detents, and yours is the first I heard of having a lock stick issue.

Hopefully flytanium makes some scales for it.

I have the Black G10 plain edge MSI and honestly, I'm disappointed. The "detent" is mushy and mine has a tiny bit of lock stick as well. Nice vid Tristan EDC

Thanks for the review, was really looking forward to picking one up. Now with the price point, action, and so many other knives for the price. The ram lock Microtechs are a massive pass at this point. Hopefully there is some cqi versions to come😢.

Yeah, the axis lock operation on the SuperFreek is almost just as uncomfortable for "perfectly average😁" hands. Almost just out of comfortable reach.

I really wanted one but with those problems I'll have to pass for now, but I am thinking about selling my Spyderco Tuff in like brand new condition ( carried very little and never once used) with a RGT black linen micarta scale and Lynch deep carry clip, I love it and don't really want to part with it but I need some money for some other knives I really want

That looks like some nasty lock stick Kole! I’d already heard about the super soft detent and have been watching all the reviews, like you it is just way too big for my preferences. Hopefully they sort it out and help people out with warranty stuff

This is why they are releasing this 10 at a time because they know it will sell if it has that can't get mysterious vibe. I've heard nothing but disappointments. And I've been wasting Thursday's for 4 months now trying to get one. Microtech urks me.

Darn - Kinda sad now. I like a strong detent too.

Wonder if this is only on the MSI, my ram lok stitch has zero lock stick. Might have to hold off on the msi then.

Apparently it was an issue on early MSI's. I've heard from a lot of folks that haven't had any issues.

Hmmm, interesting. I have some thoughts on this Microtech - first time I saw it, it reminded me of CIVIVI Spiny Dogfish design wise - which was good, coz I have and like this knife. I must say MSI looks amazing, very high-tech, sci-fi, cyberpunk etc. However, looks is one thing and the quality and action is another. I was considering buying this one but the price is too big for what it represents. It's good I watched your vid and it put me off from buying this knife, which is good because if I bought it I'd be probably very disappointed. It's mind boggling that such a respectable company produces such a piece of c.... which looks very good , I must admit. My next gripe with this knife is the lock, too complex, too many holes, empty spaces as for a heavy duty Rambo knife. I can imagine a bit of dirt or sand getting into the lock during work and being unable to close it or open it when needed later. So, generally- a big NO. A shame, cos the design is amazing, it seems we should never judge the book by the cover :|

I can’t buy anything from Microtech or Marfione. Never been lucky with my knives form them. Even my ultratech had the craziest strength needed to actuate the button.

Oof. Crazy that quality control let that lock stick out in the wild. From what I’ve heard, factory action is terrible on all of them. Poor showing for Microtech’s new standard.

I think Microtech must have accidentally magnetized the 26 screws holding this model together, and they must be holding the blade in place and affecting the action! Only plausible explanation.

With all respect, yes, you got a bad one. I own the MSI and no lock stick at all. And no sir, the detent is not soft. You cannot take a ram lock deployment system like this and compare it to liner or frame locks. The detent is perfect for this style of deployment. This is not a toy for nervous people to fidget with, although you can play with it in this way. I have seen more than one video where people are using their own personal narratives and preferences for "flicky" or "drop shutty" and try to apply these ludicrous terms to every knife. These terms are irrelevant for this knife and the detent, again, is not soft. As for the hot spot under the two front fingers, you are correct. I took some super fine wet/dry sand paper, put some CLP on the paper and very gently took the edge off that area and it made a world of difference. And you cannot even tell I touched the knife because the CLP was polishing it while I was smoothing it at the same time! Olive oil or coconut oil will do the same.

Im trying so hard to listen and take in this review, but the fact that this man is digitally altering the pitch of his voice to gain a much deeper, baritone sound is the biggest red flag ive ever ever stumbled apon.
