Well, i liked the new animation, for me, issei seemed to be a little less perverted on season 4.. i know it aint becuz of the animation, but i cant imagine issei in the old animation being less perverted..

This is easily the best fight in all the series. For the first time it’s not a fight against a “villain of the week” but just a guy. No broken magic, just two MEN beating the shit out of each other and their drive to push on towards their dreams. Animation is great as well and the music is inspiring. 9 out of 10 as my only wish is it lasted longer to show more of a back and forth of who is winning. Instead of Issei being in charge most of the time.

I feel that's what made this fight awesome, it wasn't an endurance type of fight that last 100 episodes like dbz(love the show also, but seriously lol), just one that showed their insane power and drive to win it for their houses...and yeah I kinda see your point, it would have been cool to see it drag out just a little bit longer.

For all of you ungratefull people complaining about the artstyle, heres why it was changed: Season 3 was adapted unfaithfully and so the author of the light novels dropped TNK and got studio passione to do the anime instead. Studio passione decided to follow the artstyle of the light novels and thats the reason for the artstyle change. EDIT: Ok holy shit these replies XD The reason why I said "For you ungratefull people" was because I was just in a bad mood lmao. I would change it but honestly I cant be asked. Now can we all be friends? XD

This is true. They pretty much made it into a fanfiction and so the author of the light novels decided to axe TNK and decided to move to Studio Passione. Personally I like the new artstyle and I kind of prefer it more.

@@cmdrssyoshi6919 TNK artstyle may be good but they fck up the chance that was given by the author. I mean who doesn't get pissed at the people who altered their hard work. The new art style is kinda okay and actually way more famous than TNK Artstyle at least in Japan because it almost close to the Original (LN) design. The only problem I have with this season is doesn't have enough darker color

I just now realized this style is closer to that of the light novels, than the 1st 3 seasons, and honestly it looks amazing

This fight was awesome and the debut of Issei’s Cardinal Crimson Promotion was something I have been waiting for this season as well as the Illegal move Triana. While the New art style did catch me off guard I like it better since it’s more in tune with the light novel. I can’t wait till season 5 where we’ll get to see more power ups for Issei, seriously Boosted Gear is my favorite anime power.

actually no, the queen form is on par with the juggernaut and unlike the jugg issei can control it instead of being a rampaging monster who doesn't know friend from foe. So sai can still hold his own against it.

Possibly one of the best fights in the series. Kinda teared up when watching it

There is no episode 13. So-called episode 1 is actually Episode 0. Was a re-write of the ending of season 3 to follow the Light Novel. Prior studeo changed story without permission. THat is why studeo and art style is different. Old artstyle owned by old studeo.

This is just too good, one of my most favorite anime by far.

0:23 this is one of my favorite scenes in all of anime, it was so awesome to hear issei finally, after practically 4 seasons, say just how much love he has for rias. And the glowing aura around him while doing so made this scene so badass. Plus the fact that he went on to whoop sairaorg's ass! And as English being my only language it was most badass to me in the dub version which is how I saw this first. LOVED IT! Can't wait for season 5! ❤️🤩🙏

Somehow this fight was one of my favorites. Highschool DXD was the first "real anime" i watched, excluding dragon ball and naruto, it was the first anime i watched being fully aware of what anime was, and looking back at it... it was shit compared to other stories but still holds a nice spot in my heart, coming back to it after years and watching this fight, i really liked it, nothing fancy about it, just two men with superpowers beating the absolute shit out of each other, giving in to their primordial male instinct to compete in a battle.

Just watched the anime and just can’t stop watching the best moments

He'll always be a pawn because those 8 pawns were what he was reincarnated as. Even when he does become a King, his pieces are still 8 (mutated) pawns. By the way, a spoiler, there are no King pieces as they've been deemed illegal. You become a King by becoming a High Class Devil and creating your own peerage but you don't get a King piece. Also, he'll always be Rias' pawn even after he creates his own peerage except when they have tournaments where they have their own teams and are competing against each other.

@@viperakmal Chant VOL 20 and its isn't stronger than orphis its a releasing of the power of Orphis that composes his body the technique is called Diabolos Drive and originally had an infinity symbol representing Ophis the infinte. But using that technique almost killed him and made it so hed die if he touched women. Eventually it got restricted so he could use it safely even though its weaker and has a timelimit of 10 seconds. Prior to drinking the hindu fountain of youth which temporarily revives draig to fight with him and makes his timer in the 30 mins stage , in vol 12 i think (his body is critically injured due to the dragon eater samaels blood) great reds flesh and orphis magic holding his soul and body together.

Hope this series continues. The story is just breathtaking. I haven't seen an anime with better story than this. I mean, mythologies battle it out. Renegade groups such as Khaos Brigade destabilising peace. Mysterious characters like Cao Cao. Nordic regions. So many mythologies to discover. It's literally the coolest story I have ever seen

Sorry for you. DXD dosent felsh out the myth and only stays inside the devil's society. Cao Cao and the hero faction are only relevant in s5 and boom the story is a mess.

Wasn't it renewed for another reason? I'm assuming why nothing has come up was because of Covid, so I'm hoping towards the end of the year we hear something.

All of you who admitted that you hate Highschool DXD can you please shut up and leave this conversation. Reading your complaints are just a waste of time. In terms of actual animation this season was better than the rest and that's a fact. The artstyle not so much. I enjoyed this season a lot because of the better fights and the story between Rias and Issei. Would I have preferred the old animation, absolutely. But I have come to accept this and enjoy it regardless. Anyone that gave up the show because of the artstyle shame on you.

It has the potential to go on for as many episodes as dragonball super I hope in season 5 we see the wedding

Issei x Rias= Better than Life Phenex x Rias= Completely forgot this happened. Phenex doesn’t deserve Rias in the first season.
