I wouldn’t say it’s complicating the simplest question necessarily. That is a really complicated question in itself to both races (Israeli and Palestinian) and in that context. I thought they actually had the most interesting dialogue in the whole video. I didn’t necessarily agree with some of it but there were also parts I agreed with. That is the point of this project I’d imagine; to gather different opinions on a really controversial matter. Personally, I believe Israel and Palestine should learn to share the land for the sake of stopping the violence however it is obvious and a complete fact that the Palestinian side is being oppressed and forced away from what is also their holy ground. That is not fair. That is why the war will never stop. Both sides are incredibly passionate about their religious beliefs and sites. The same way I wouldn’t judge every Jew through stereotypes, I would not judge a Muslim. We are all human. Period. And so one part in that conversation that really bothered me was the 1000 cups of wine analogy. That is how holocausts, genocide, “extremist” attacks” and general war/violence begin. Ignorance and stereotypes. It actually saddens me because though Islam and Judaism are the two closest religions, they seem to have the biggest rift.

I love the guy who said he had 0 knowledge of Judaism but was able to boil down the problem so succinctly.

My grandpa was Palestinian born in Yaffa 1925. He was forced out of his land and home. I was so hurt about that for my whole life, but today I see that the only solution for both of us is peace. For the next generations, for our kids. I don't hate Israeli people, and I know many of them don't hate me as well. Stay safe you all. Much love and respect.

I loved the humble young man who, after spending two years studying his faith, was embarrassed by his pride in saying his understanding was a 2/10. Then his level of hate, a 1/10. Why? "My faith says no hate." I'd say his understanding of his faith was 10/10.

It's a stupid question of how much you know the religion. It may reveal something, but any answer is going to be ridiculous. Judaism teaches to love God's creations, especially people, but it teaches to hate evil and evil people. Once you can demonstrate someone is evil, hate him. No reason to assume they're evil.

To be honest, I am just a random non-Jewish, non-Arab guy from Europe and these videos give me hope for humanity. For me they demonstrate perfectly that most citizens do not bear strong hatred towards others, but the problems and conflicts keep existing and growing because of the religious and political leaders. It's a sad, but good feeling at the same time.

The question is very framing. When you ask 'how much do you hate' someone, people's reaction will obvioulsy be 'i dont hate'. If you had asked about their perceptions, you'd get a more sincere answer. Their prejudice shows when they say 'i dont hate them, BUT...' and then proceed to call them violent, extremist, terrorists, claiming israel treats them fairly and employs them. The level of arrogance of the settler saying 'yea palestinians probably dont like going through the checkpoint but then at my house we drink tea' yea dude, they're actually respectful people who just want freedom and the fact you live in their land surrounded by walls and army outposts takes their right to being free. Some of these people seem genuinely tolerant, but most seem hypocrites afraid to let their bigotry and intolerance show.

I’ve worked in an Arabic restaurant for 3 years, my closest friends are Muslim and I speak Arabic, not fluently but conversationally. I moved last year and for this last year I have been working in a predominantly Jewish restaurant, and I’ve learned a small amount of Hebrew and I have dozens of Jewish regulars I see everyday. I’ve had lots of conversations with both sides, and from my perspective I haven’t seen any hate. It gives me so much hope, as I have had long conversations with my Palestinian brothers and sisters as well as my Israeli brothers and sisters and I get the same thing, from old and young. They don’t want violence, they want peace. That’s what the people say. This has been my personal experience but it’s one that I cherish, and to this day I’ve heard this more than any other line, “we’re all people.”

What I am trying to say is that both sides want peace But if you look closely Israel is still healthy Meanwhile Palestinians conditions can not even be described as healthy Event young kids die But Israel still healthy Both don’t want hate so I wish IF THIS WAR CAN JUST END

Watching this during the current Hamas - Israel crisis... felt shivers run down my spine when that old guy said "it's the younger ones that will give us trouble 10 years from now", the video is 8 years old. He knew what he was talking about.

I mean this new gen didn’t suddenly woke up and decided destruction, things could have been different if their government agreed to the two State policy, 1st issue is the extremist and the most important issue is extremists are actually the ruler in both parties, even if one side decided to stay put the other want to wipe their opponent off for real, and if that side is powerful and has backing of world's greatest power, there is actually no way of peace.

@@SadiaIslamShouki I didn't mean to say an entire generation of palestinians just woke up one day and decided to destroy Israel, and I don't think that's what they guy in the video meant either... I obviously don't know his exact thought process, but my personal takeaway from what he said is that while there was hope of reaching peace with the older generation of palestinians, it is near impossible to do so with the new generation because they were born under Israel's rule and they have endured their oppression their entire lifes. That's why they have been so "radicalized", that's why they hate israel. Because they have never known any other life.

I have to say as Palestinian I am impressed. I think both peoples, the Israelis and the Palestinians are good people with similar cultures and similarities in their religions, however religious fanaticism is detrimental and especially to the Palestinians and I wish they would walk away from that because it is not what religion teaches, be it Islam, Christianity or Judaism.
