IT IS ABOUT A WAY OF BEHAVING. Again and again in the “covenant” language He never says “I will give you, ethnic Israelites, the land of Israel.” Rather He says something far more radical - far more subversive - far more Godlike in my view. He says: IF you visit those imprisoned…act mercifully to the widow and the orphan… welcome the stranger in your midst…tend the sick…do justice and love mercy…and perform various other tasks…THEN YOU WILL BE MY PEOPLE AND THIS LAND WILL BE YOUR LAND. So “my people” is not ethnic - it is transactional. We are God’s people not by birth but by a way of behaving, that is ethical, kind and just. And we stop being “God’s people“ when we are not ethical, kind and just. And ANYONE who is ethical, kind and just is, according to God in Genesis, “God’s people.” And the “contract” to “give” us Israel is conditional - we can live in God’s land if we are “God’s people” in this way - just, merciful and compassionate. AND - it never ever says, it is ONLY your land. Even when all passages spell out geographical “boundaries” as if God does such a thing, it never says this is exclusively your land. It never says I will give this land JUST to you. Remember these were homeless nomads who had left slavery in Egypt and were wandering around in the desert; at most these passages say, settle here, but they do not say, settle here exclusively. Indeed again and again it talks about welcoming “zarim” - translated as “strangers” but can also be translated as “people/tribes who are not you” - in your midst. Blew my mind, hope it blows yours.

In fact, the Saudi government hires tons of Non-Muslims to work in these cities. If you are referring to the Kaaba or anywhere around the Mosque, there is a Quranic verse. "O you who have believed, indeed the polytheists are unclean, so let them not approach al-Masjid al-Haram after this, their [final] year. And if you fear privation, Allah will enrich you from His bounty if He wills. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Wise." -Al Quran c9 v28 The Quran only talks about the polytheists, not ALL Non-Muslims. And the reason for that is because the polytheists aren't religiously clean to enter such a holy place. And this isn't present in Islam only, there are loads of temples in India which are exclusive to Hindus. (Guruvayur Temple) (The Saudi Government-because it is extreme and Wahabbi- they stop all Non-Muslims from entering. Even though, the Quran says opposite) And what does this have to with what I said initially? It is absolutely stupid to believe that a certain part of Earth is only made for you and your people, and it ruins the message of God which is equality.

However, I cannot imagine why the weaker side believe that it can take on the might of the Western powers which helped to design and form Israel. Launching rockets indiscriminately at civilians haven't changed the minds of successive governments in the USA and Europe for more than half-a-century whilst the retaliation from the more powerful side has always been disproportionate and the casualties alarming. The right to self-defence is universal and is a public good, so the only option left is a peaceful resolution to a truculent problem.

Also, can I suddenly claim an ancestral land where my forefathers haven’t been for thousand years? I live in Bangladesh. My family is here for around 500 years. Prior to that, we come from Yemen. @@jovanleon7 there is a lot else in the bible too... It isnt a one sided book. Who do you imagine is righteous? Read the parable of tenants. Even though God loved Isaac, God hated his son Esau. So even if God sides with a race, He will only side with the good ones from that race. In fact most palestinians today have jewish blood in them too. We dont know who the real righteous remnant really are anymore. However i know based on ezekiel 38 that the true chosen ones will live in a land without walls, barriers or even weapons. God will protect them, not the iron dome :)

Yeah and I remember Charlton Heston making the sea part so some people could escape and then when the Egyptians tried to follow them he made the sea flood back in again. And do you know one of those Egyptians shook his fist at Charlton Heston and said 'I curse you Charlton Heston and you will die' I didn't believe it at the time because I was about five years old and I thought it was just a load of bollocks.
