The fact that this system is claimed to have a 90% success rate is insane to me. Intercepting a missile or rocket is incredibly difficult and takes almost perfect accuracy.

this system did not work when hamas fired 5000 rockets. This system cant protect you. You need 10.000 iron dome rockets to defend against 5000 hamas rockets. Impossible to have so many batteries ready. And very expensive 50.000 dollars vs 300 dollars for 1 qassam rocket. 90% accuracy is very bad which means 500 rockets hit the ground.

​@massinakmin8340 true, though like with anything, it's only expected to get better, I doubt it was this good when it was first tested and if so, then it's not hard to believe it'll gain in accuracy overtime. Afterall with how algorithm learning goes, perhaps implementing an A.I. component will learn from it's mistakes and up the accuracy several fold, to the point where it's first rocket has a near perfect record and the 2nd rocket is a near perfect 99.8% accuracy or more. Time will tell.

But they have better ways of stopping rockets like using fighter jets to level the city they came from. Hamas will never win cause they are weak with no navy no air force no real army no air defense systems.

you can clearly see Iron Dome's interceptors awesome maneuverability it can change direction in an instant to meet the trajectory of incoming rockets this is the reason why Iron Dome is so effective over 90% interception rate nothing compares in the whole world. The US has its own version of Iron Dome made in the USA by Raytheon called SkyHunter.

The Iron Dome is definitely impressive and outstanding. BUT it would be EVEN more impressive if it could NOT only passively neutralised incoming rockets but fire a secondary rocket from above using calculated trajectory to source of launch thus making it a passive aggressive weapon shield. 👍🏻

If you watch the video again, notice after the missiles are intercepted and listen for jets. And soon after you hear jets, you see large explosions in gaza. Israel has been using the iron dome to intercept the rockets and their jets to target where they were fired from. The issue is, the cowardly terrorists hide their weapons in schools, churches, hospitals, and apartment buildings. So when the jets blow up where the attacks come from, they then try to put out footage of how bad Israel is for blowing up said spots that were shooting rockets.

Nobody said it failed; they said it "has failed", meaning *at times it has failed*. IDDS has a 80-90% intercept rate. Hamas intentionally exploits IDDS operational vulnerabilities by deploying a volume-of-fire that exceeds the maximum V-SHORAD missile launch-rate. Additionally, Hamas deploys munitions (like the J-80 rocket) which travel on a non-linear path, making it difficult for the Tamir intercept missile to adjust course in the terminal phase.

It seems to me that a lot of people fail to realise that every one of these intercepted rockets would had probably landed in a populated (most likely civilians) zone.

50k for one missile, that was several missiles, that’s over 500,000$, in the USA people get killed for less than 500$ of theft. Israel ranks as the top 10 least amount of homicides in the world, while USA ranks 6th of the most homicides in the world, there’s literally 10,000 more deaths of turf wars in America than in the Middle East combined. Pretty sure this is one of those ass backwards moments where the USA is using these minor turf wars to take more of their resources. Yes!!! Loved that game. Used to play ao me version of the game in my gifted and talented computer class in junior high in the early 1990’s after our coding assignments were done! Loved it. We even got to code our own version of the game at the end of the semester as our teacher realized we all lived the game so much. So she made an assignment out of it with high resolution graphics.
