Support for Hamas was over 60% even as late as the end of last October after the events of october. And support for the organization has been that high since 2004. So it's 1.2 million and Hamas on one side versus at most 800,000 on the other side.

Keep in mind that of the roughly 35,000 losses so far, about 10,000 are Hamas soldiers who were fighting in civilian clothing and 5,000 are citizens of Gaza lost to low quality Hamąs missiles falling on Gaza. It is a tragic situation but it is not an intentional attempt to eliminate an entire social or religious group from the earth. And what happened back in October included multiple crimes against humanity.

I read this argument several times. And I also wonder about the moral dimension. The people killed on October 7 were uninvited colonists on Palestinian lands. They need to return to Europe and allow the Palestinians to be free in their homeland.
