Their first fight in Glory was also really close, and Alex took a beating on the third round, but the judges gave Pereira the 1st and the 2nd. Their rematch on the UFC (which is very likely to happen) will be a crazy good of a fight.

I hope Izzy avenge this in the UFC and make every hater including the other fighters watch these 2 fights before they comment shit over and over again. Now I also understand why he said the mma/pillow gloves thing... He's never been a power guy like Pereira, but mma gloves will be enough and other than power he's levels above him + now it's freaking mma not kickboxing anymore. For me, Izzy was clearly the greater striker, but got caught in this fight (by someone famously known to have an "iron fist" and crazy scary power), that's it. The issue with them fighting in MMA is Pereira only stopped kickboxing a year ago. Izzy has been training MMA for the last 5-6 years. I wouldn’t be surprised if Alex is currently the sharper striker due to Izzy having to invest a lot of time in grappling. I can’t see Izzy grappling offensively but who knows. pereira looked like he could pose some danger for a modestly significant period, from the opening of the fight, but isi only had to survive that one session of being on the receiving end of hits and he was more confident for the rest of the fight on it seemed... up until the very end when alex decided to suddenly step up his intensity. alex mayve felt pressured to do so, but those efforts paid off quickly and indefinitely.

They're both at a whole other level now. Alex improved a lot after this video went on to be a killing machine, he's super awkward and wild in this, far more composed and sniper like now. Izzy is much better too tbh, he fought at a different range here than he does in MMA.

One thing I’ve noticed here is the improvements both men made from then till now, they both are way more technical and cautious in their approach the power in alex hands is way better with the 4oz gloves imo. It’s not like izzy was winning until he lost like he said at the presser, imo he actually lost round one but almost kod alex in round 2 I gave both a round on my scorecard. But one terrifying thing is how quick alex recovered from being rocked in round 2, he literally came wild in 3rd round and started putting pressure on Israel and perfectly placed left hook did the job. This fight will be a good scrap.

And all of his fights, especially towards the beginning of the fight, Israel stands at the end of kicking range; even in MMA (unlike alot of MMA fighters who stand just outside the pocket). This is because in order to hit him you must move to him, like Bruce Lee said, and he can probe at you with long range attacks, like kneestomps. However, in this fight he was in close, using a lot of punches; which puts him out of much closer range than he normally fights. He WAS fighting different and more aggressively. He said it was from listening to the wrong people, I wonder who convinced him to change up his approach and why?
