I lost a lot of respect for Izzy in that last round/minute. He should’ve stood his ground and thrown everything he had left in him. It was obvious that he was down on points and needed a knockout in order to get the win. But Sean just continued to walk him down and made Izzy look cowardly. Strickland had it right… Adesanya doesn’t have the mindset of a champion. Maybe he did at one point. But it wasn’t last night.

How are you gonna say you ‘lost a lot of respect’ if you don’t know if there are specific reasons/issues that led Izzy to underperform and not chase a finish round 5. Injury? Mental obstacles? Israel prob knew 20 seconds into the fight that he is not going to be able to TOUCH Strickland....it looked like a grown adult fighting a drunk 13 year old...the difference in control and focus was intense to watch.

Unlucky Izzy it was Sean's night. What a result ! I got goose pimples watching the fight. I didn't give Sean much of a shout but he was fantastic !

The issue was izzy couldn't hurt him and Strickland being used to conditioning and having a walk down style made it a comfortable win. Strickland wasn't scared of izzy's sudden moves and clearly felt his rabbit punches couldn't hurt him.
