I don't understand this "Marketability problem" when it comes to Strickland. The guy walked into Australia, got boo'd when he came out on stage, but after a few minutes had turned the entire crowd and they were cheering him. Same thing during the fight and after, the crowd was with him. UFC has been handed this generations Stone Cold Steve Austin - sure ESPN corporate suits are going to hate him, but that's exactly what makes someone like Strickland likable in the first place.

I think it's not so much boxing vs whatever. For instance, Sean's front kicks were a KEY to his game, and he wasn't even throwing that many punches. It was more the style matchup. Sean was standing in front of Izzy and forcing him to lead, which Izzy doesn't do well. Sean didnt once launch himself at Izzy along the cage to be countered, which is what Izzy wanted, so he could catch him like Pereira II. But Sean never played his game, and pressure-countered the counter fighter, and his eyes and timing are so good because Sean does almost nothing but spar.@@mikerelva6915

Nightmare? The entire right & Trump supporters in America (which is like the UFC's entire American fanbase) are gonna go bonkers for Sean, he's the ideal champ demographics-wise. More importantly, you'll notice Sean is actually intelligent and calculated: he gets points for saying things like "cancel me", but then you notice his girlfriend is a quiet nerdy type, and he never ACTUALLY says anything that would really get him in hot water, like saying f*ggot post-fight, etc. You can tell he's not actually crazy or a trailer-park wife beater, he knows what he's doing.

Honestly, Adesanya fought how he always fights, nothing different, it's been like this really in most of his fights unless someone pushes the fight against him and they get caught sometimes. He just met a guy today with excellent defense, dealt with the leg kicks very well, pushed him back the whole fight and Izzy couldnt catch him. It was close fight, no one ran away with the rounds really, but it was a clear win for Strickland. I just hate all this "He didn't look himself" and "He looked flat" ... he really looked and did the same he always does, moves a lot, kicks a lot, throws hands here and there with good defense. He just met a guy that made this close and had the patience to not get bothered too much by inactivity.

I think that's maybe a similar analogy in that Izzy is clearly towards the tail end of his career. Judging by this fight though, I think Izzy will still struggle in the rematch. He's not Pereira, he's not gonna walk Sean down and hook off the body jab and 1-shot him. He's best in counter-mode, which is what he was trying to do tonight, but Sean countered him instead: I think Sean's timing is too good because he does nothing but spar, so he's got that deep-instinct timing like James Toney had: he saw everything coming and reacted properly over and over, and Izzy was feinting a lot and trying differne looks too. And Sean's right hand counter to Izzy's left hook that dropped him was PERFECTLY timed, and it was only r1- Sean had his rhythm immediately, almost like they'd sparred a bunch before @@elijahlogan7347

Insinuating Izzy was injured is complete disrespect to Stricklands performance. The fact Izzy ran away and made his coach do the post press conf speaks volumes. Izzy would be completely irrelevant if he didnt survive that final fight vs Alex. Hes finally getting exposed he has always gotten more credit than he deserves. His only success has come from being tall and having reach.
