Leo Sayer turned 76 on 5-21-24, so The Jays turned to this #1 worldwide smash hit in his honor. It was written by Albert Hammond and Carole Bayer Sager, and hit the top of the US Hot 100 in May, 1977. Mr. Sayer was not a one hit wonder, however! He wrote hit singles for a bunch of other artists, including "The Show Must Go On," which was Three Dog Night's last Top 10 record, on 5-25-74. He also wrote the huge #1 dance tune "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" in 1977. And, he covered "More Than I Can Say" in 1980, reaching #2 with that effort.
It always pleases the Jays to find that there is more to the story of these "overnight" stars. We changed the key to E flat, and stripped out all the keyboards and strings for this acoustic version. It's a nice tune, sort of a precursor to "Hey There Delilah" and songs of that ilk. One of the I'm-on-the-road-but-I-miss-you-babe sorts of sentiments.

That’s very nice of you, Paul. It was certainly played at a bunch of dances my senior year of high school. :-)
