After isolating your vocals I would recommend recording it with an audio lane. Properly eq the recorded vocal and its even more clear. Thanks for the video it was very helpful!

For anyone having trouble with phase cancellation, something that wasn't stressed here is that _volume is crucial._ For example, I had to amplify an inverted instrumental by 0.415 dB in order to get it as close to zero as I had the patience for. If your tracks are off by as little as 1dB it won't work. Play around with volume first! Also remember to have them perfectly aligned down to a wave peak or else it will just amplify everything. If you feel like giving up you can always get a free trial of an AI splitter like XTrax Stems to just get the vocal you need. I tried it and it's actually fantastic, definitely worth the 60 bucks a year

Oh yeah, and I was using an already stripped instrumental, im better off just using an ai to pull it out till the artist hits me up, im confident he will, ill see his he is down to throw me the acapella

Been learning so quickly all you had to mention was phases and I knew what I had to do, mostly from you. Got it close first try, using ozone 10 to fine tune it against the reference. Even hard because im using a instrumental that already had this done to remove the vocals with ai prolly.

UnMixIt is an excellent software for isolating vocals. I have tried other software, but UnMixIt is the best by far. It does not require to be connected to an external server and it's inexpensive.

@Sam_Smyers I tried this using SplitterAI. It cancels out perfectly when I use the original Voice extraction of SplitterAI with itself. But it doesn't work on my original file which I used in SplitterAI to extract from. What could it be? There is quite a bit of reverb, and echo going on. But Its extracted ok in splitter AI without the reverb. does the reverb mess it up?

Hold ctrl (or mac equivalent) whilst selecting the second solo, or you can change it in the preferences to allow 2 solo track. Change exclusive setting to 'Arm' instead of 'Solo'

@@samsmyers i imported the instrumental and the full song to abelton. i slowed them down a bit because they were too fast. then i used the utility thing just like you said. and nothing happened really

Surely the very last step gives you the same vocal track as Splitter.AI? Like surely splitter is just making the instrumental and then using that to make the vocal track? So that being said you just manually did what splitter is doing for you?

Turns out it works! But only with exact same frequencies and volume. So, getting instrumental from KZread and trying to use it on the song might not work, if they don't combine so much

That isolate voice is not showing for me It's only showinh default.🙄🙄 Help me out

Question.. I tried the method of putting 1 instrumental and 1 full version (both are available for the song I used), but when I put the utility on the instrumental and select both left & right like you did, nothing happens at all, the result is just both tracks playing, no isolation of vocals..

you need to flip the waveform or mirror the waveform up and down first so the low peaks and high peaks cancel each other out. Utility gives you an option to do that. just use the bottom left info box to see what part of utility you need to activate to make that happen. After that everything you've done should work.

the last method isn't really practical since Splitter shifts the times of each track by about a second so it would be tedious to sync them all by ear

I didn't have this problem with any track I used. They sync up perfectly in Audacity so maybe check your Ableton import settings or auto warping? Also no need to sync by ear just line up a single wave in the intro or whatever, impractical yes but not by much

If the files are not the studio quality waves, then flipping the phase might not work because if they were converted to mp3, then that is a lossy format that changes the actual waveforms of the audio
