Thanks for discussing the game. The levels of strategy in this game are not really visible just by looking at people playing it. But with giving us a view inside your mind, you really made it possible to see the deepness of this award winner.

Actually, the tiebreaker is leftover gold AFTER VP exchange, according to the official rules: "Each player finally exchanges his gold at the rate of 1 VP per 5 gold. The player with the most VP is the winner. Leftover gold (after VP exchange) breaks ties."

This is now my favourite game of all time. Hasn't got boring after 70+ plays. There's so much to think about and tonnes of replayability and tactical thinking. I love watching your guys' videos, but I'm almost disappointed you didn't like this game so much! Two add my two pennies worth to the discussion afterwards: There is undoubtedly a lot of strategy in pricing correctly and I doubt anyone can win regularly without looking at what their opponents want and pricing accordingly, although the fewer the players the more important this is. I also love the tile design (I have 20/20 vision after laser eye surgery , though), but my artsy wife after 10+ plays was still struggling a little recognising what went where, until I explained about simply viewing the tiles as, for example, "this one's 3 water and 1 mountain", "this one's 2 green and 2 water", it's simple, helps you see what goes where almost instantly and helps you close those areas. I love this game and I've found it to be a grower - it's got more enjoyable over time - it still hasn't become boring and I hope it never will! Guys, I love watching your videos, I'm a big fan, and I appreciate the insight and knowledge you show in the discussions after playing, thanks for the entertainment, it's much appreciated!

50:35 Crazy Dave - confirmed :D HAHAHA Great playthrough again ! :) Since I started watching you guys I am now a "main-hobby board gamer" and went from owning 3 to owning 30 games lol (and counting) . Most of the games I've bought I've seen from you guys, and of course found them fun to play so I now own most of them :) Keep up the great work and regards from Macedonia! :D

Didn't Nikki miss a point for scoring her greens? They gave her 3 points but it's 4 tiles. 🤷

Glad for these videos. I have the game and taught it a couple of times and realized I taught the second step incorrectly by having everyone place their drawn tiles behind the screen along with the price, instead of in front of the screen. Probably didn't make a huge difference to the gameplay, but now I know better.

I don't like catch up mechanisms too. However the mechanism isn't overpowered. You have to factor that in the pricesetting. I do think however that the four scoretiles are much more important than the scrolls. And i advice first time players to go for the scoring rounds and plan for that instead of focussing on scrolls. Last three player game I played everybody scored more than 80 points. The guy with the most money was last. oh and according to the german rules you exchange your gold for vp. so tiebreaker is between zero to four gold. So each gold is worth 0.2 points

Suggestion for future games where the players colored score keeper it is not well indicated anywhere (or players remember there own color) We watchers cant always remember who is Blue or white or red, etc. Put some sort of color indicator in front of each player so the people at home can see what color is each player.(It could be as simple as a 3"x5" square of colored construction paper in front of each player that matches there score indicator) AFTER the game was over I finally noticed a little tiny square of color on each players starting tile. But during game play I never noticed it and only found it when I paused the game at the end was was trying to follow along on the scoring and happened to notice it,

So I was playing right, you can spend the money you just got when someone else has brought one of your tiles In The same round.

I died inside every time they called the coins a dollar. That was old Scotland, they hardly had currency, and then you give them a dollar instead of a pound.

Carcassone is a terribly outdated game whose faulty mechanics are fixed in this new iteration. This game has far less confusion than explaining fields in Carcassone.

@@Lappelduvideify We don't play Carcassonne with fields anymore. Last week we played our first game without them and it elevated the experience massively. We had Traders and Builders, Princess & Dragon, Inns & Cathedrals, and The Tower. Fields not needed at all.
