Always feel like returning to this video as we start to get the spring sunshine appearing each year. Lovely memories of this video and Isle of Skye has been such a joyous addition to my game collection since.

This new cooking show is great. Bit weird to be reviewing a board game at the start, but that's fine.

It's because we don't always see the Day Star. Perhaps for over a week when it plays a global game of peekabo with us and reminds us of its existence. We are relieved at which point it goes back into hiding and we start to get worried again.

I have an urge to bake, by a bowler hat - and I MUST remember to take a seaside spade and small frying pan when taking my dog for a walk. What was the game, again? I love your reviews. So dry and insightful. Great fun. 👍

Actually the cup measurement is just a means to make sure the ingredient quantities are in proportion with each other. It doesn't actually matter what vessel you use, so long as you use the same vessel for everything. Though admittedly that falls down a little once you add egg to a recipe. Which is why it's also a shit measurement. We can just use kilograms and litres like sensible people.

1 Imperial Cup equals 284ml (according to Google volume converter). It *is* an actual form of measurement, hence the fact you can buy measuring cups.

To completely fair though, volumetric measurements are a flawed method for measuring any substance other than liquid with any sort of precision.

When he lived in UK he did videos with Quinns all the time. You should look up older vids. Quinns and Paul started the whole show before others were involved. They're great together. Their live action videos are legendary. Also, I find myself reading written reviews in Paul's voice.

Are these Canadian, Imperial or (GASP!) American cups? Australian. Japanese. Metric. I'm doing American cups, damnit. I'm not futzing around! That and it doesn't seem to matter too much anyway. :) Interesting game review, though.

"I grew up not understanding cooking or baking, and having a horrible teacher for it at school." American here. You had a teacher for teaching how to cook at school? That wasn't a thing, where I grew up. It's like when people say they learned to swim in school, and, as an American, I have to be like "I had to go to private lessons to learn how, because they don't teach us that in schools in the US." Cultural differences, amirite?

Isaac27 not sure where you grew up or how old you are but I had Home Ec in junior high where we learned sewing, cooking, general housekeeping etc. Also had swim classes in high school - 1/2 the year was regular gym the other half swimming.

I turn 33 in less than a month, and I grew up in rural Indiana, USA. There was an optional Home Economics class available in high school, and possibly middle school, but only the girls at the school would take it. Any guy that would take it would be called "gay" and would be treated poorly, so no guys would take that class. There was a class that was similar, that I did take, but it was more of a blow off class, and most people took it because they could eat food during the day. No one really learned much in the class, and the teacher wasn't really paying much attention. Good times. Gym class in high school was only one semester, so I took it in the Summer, so as to not have to worry about getting sweaty during normal high school class days. I graduated in 2002, so maybe things have changed some since then, but not much.

Ah thats pretty interesting. I guess it really depends by state as well or how the school systems are. I grew up in a suburban town in California, graduated in '04. We had a system in middle school where you had to take home ec and there were actually a good group of guys in the class but they all stuck together lol. My high school was big on sports so it was a requirement in high school 3 years of PE. The first year it was like every sport out there including swimming. As a girl, if you skipped swimming then you had to take weights or something else =/
