Isle of Man TT Ferry Crossing 2024

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Isle of Man TT Ferry Crossing 2024. The Steampacket ferry arrived from Liverpool to Douglas on the Isle of Man. I nearly lost my glasses as I left them on the back of my bike. that would have caused all sorts of problems for me. not exactly first world problems granted but hay ho lol

The ferry is the most stressful part of the whole TT experience. Just gotta relax and let it all play out. Thanks for sharing.

Great video! Nice to see how they get yous off. Crazy to think that all the bikes and cars etc. that they know how to pack everyone on the boat seen it before irl but that was once and to do for two weeks straight and a bit more and then for mgp is crazy. You got lucky with your glasses.

The last time I went to the TT was in 91 and although it was a different boat back then, it was the same chaos and chances of being gassed. Nothing changes it seems...

We've just been for a week. Went out on the new Manxman. It was a bloody nightmare trying to get to our bikes, untie them, and ride off....The Manannan is so much easier to get on and off on a bike.

That ferry looks unprofessional as fuck considering how long they've running the whole shebang 😂The single rope across the seat would have freaked me out! Where I am in Tasmania the ferry "Spirit of Tasmania" that goes from Mainland Australia to the island state of Tasmania we get professional straps across the bars, proper tie downs and the ferry is drive on drive off so no turning around. Our ferries are made in Europe, you should get the Isle of man to sort themselves out and buy a couple 😁 . I'm originally from Birmingham myself, left is '93. Hope your'e having a great time!

It depends on the ports the ferries use as to whether they are drive straight through or not. TT sees exceptional traffic on these ferries. In a few weeks time they will be half full as usual.

@@majorminor3367 Ha, I didn't know that. Yep Incat are down in Hobart about 4 hours from my place. They've lots of craft on Sydney harbour but nothing that runs across Bass Straight. I'm guessing the crossing to Douglass is fairly mild? Hence only needing minimal strapping. If Bass Straight decides to throw a tantrum bikes would end up on top of cars ;-)

My first ferry on the bike was Pont Aven to Santander (2018) I was right at the 'front'' like you, only we had the ramp to our right, we were 'first off' so we all had to push our bikes back, for me, the length of the ferry on that deck pretty much, first time I'd ever had the bike 'fully loaded' (not camping) for a two week tour! 😲 To be fair it was a lot more organised than your ferry, but our ferry wasn't going anywhere for a while...

Its self inflicted the gassing. Ever since they stopped craning bikes on and off there is always someone starts an engine as soon as the boat comes to a stop. even if its going to be an hour before they can get off. It was even worse with the 2-strokes. What we got is a complete lack of attention to detail Corporal Jones don't panic.
