    I'm pretty sure this has been covered as to why they're so good at that, it's razors width between life and death and they still somehow get it right and defy death. Literal meaning of "in the zone" the world slows down and somehow, they just do what they do. Madness isn't it

    When you are in the zone is almost primal. You pretty well disconnect from reality. My best races I don’t remember. I completely shut my conscious brain off and ride. There’s little glimpses that come to me but that’s it. My fellow racers soon learned that asking me what I thought about the track was useless. I raced off-road and we didn’t get to practice the course. The ones we did pre ride I was terrible on.

    @@6_Linn yeah our eyes addapt and slow down the world for you. you can actually try it for yourself in a car. if you go out on a highway and just drive att 180-200kmh (125mph) for a while and then try to slow down and get on the offramp/get off the highway. you will notice how your mind thinks you are going 40kmh but your speedo says 110kmh it's what's called speed blindness. :)

    When he crashed in the film, he says he tried to pick the bike up twice before bailing. You look see how fast that stack happened.... These guys are special special people on a next level.

    When he said "I'm happy to let it move about under me" I was like 😳 at no point in my riding have a been comfortable with a bike moving about under me at speed Haha different breed these guys

    How he can ride a bike with steel balls the size of watermelons is beyond me. The video looks like it is running at 200% speed, but of course it isn’t. It is just 200% of what I could manage if I had 200% more ability and guts than I actually have. Kudos to Guy.

    There is no greater sport than TT road racing. It’s the epitome of skill, commitment, and bravery. Nothing even comes close. And Guy Martin is one of the greatest. He brings so much personality to everything he’s involved in.

    It definitely separates the boys from the men, as in the boys will die if they don't drop their balls before the first corner. I've had a few "oh shit" moments on bikes through corners, but these guys go through tight corners, on narrow roads, in a small English village at 270+ km/h. The word insanity has to look up more words to describe how insane these guys are.

    Guy, in my opinion, you are an absolute prime example of a real motorcycle racer. My great-granduncle rode the tt in the sidecar in 1961 and came fourth. But he was also a real motorcycle racer made of old wood. I have the greatest respect for anyone who dares to race. I don't have the courage.

    I had the pleasure of meeting GM at a bike meet in York, he is indeed very cool. He was doing the rounds and chatting with the lads, I pulled out my thermos flask and his little face lit up, "what's in that"? Yorkshire tee, he was as giddy as anything when I poured him a brew. Great man.

    I've watched many TT onboard laps with rider's commentaries, but I've just found the best. Guy is the best narrator I've watched/heard. He talks about what he's thinking and how he feels at the moment, what was his possible position at the race, with all the contenders data he got at the moment. Where and how to take care of the engine, how to ride the bike. Even tell us where he's feeling under control and where he's just a passenger of the bike. Just thank you man!

    Guy is why I fell in love and learned about the TT. To be a rider I define as a true TT legend yet not having won a first place title there should still explain what kind of man he is. There is no one more deserving of admiration due to his humble attitude and the amount of work he had to put in to become a TT legend.

    You should put your head in salt water for 3 minutes. That really helps. And do not go to your hair dresser every week, anymore. You look far too slick. Your friends are boring, as well. Dump the ones who do not own a fast bike. And drink goat milk in your espresso. That is good for your desmo valves. Buy another bike, if you have no desmo valves. Jesus, do you still ride that hard compound?!

    Union Mills: ..."back on the throttle, bit of a jump 'ere (leant right over), takes off a bit 'ere, get on the throttle 'ere, you wanna be driving 'ere" LEGEND. Ripped off for a win that year they did him for speeding in the pit lane when they pulled him for 1/1000s when the timing was done in 1/100s.

My comment wasn't pointing out the obvious, more like commenting on how brilliantly hes able to predict the track which is obviously from repetition and knowledge of it.     On the Isle of Man there are no namby pamby gravel pit run offs like you get on regular race tracks. If you go into a telegraph pole at those speeds, you snap it in half. As indeed actually happened one year.

    Incredible run. The history of that track, the subtleties of its course, speed, skill, chance, and reflex.. so many variables to account for .. .. in addition to its toll. One should look up specifically and be thankful to the above. Thank you for the follow up.

    ... and that's what hacks some of his critics off. He's obviously very good but some people have won the TT 4 or 5 times (to his zero times) and you'll never hear about them because they don't have such a magnetic personality. I like the chap a lot but i'd instead say "one of the most special personalities to have taken part in the TT".

    Well, this is the deadliest race event in the world. Lots of guys can't go that fast. The question is not if anyone will die in any given year, but how many. Since 1946, there have been two years with no deaths on that course. The Isle of Man TT race had 4 dead in 2016, three dead in 2017, and one dead in 2018 and 2019. Over several days, but still.

    Been out on the fireblade today and it still blows my mind what these lads can do on a bike. We have some beuiteful roads in Wales which are pretty quick but these boys are on another planet! Full commitment or nothing. You have to respect that. Not many sports like it if any! Last bastion of true freedom.

    It is insane to be able to ride a factory Superbike to its absolute limit on public highways.......absolutely should not be even remotley possible.....fact top moto gp riders won't even do this speaks mad volume!!!!......Rossi and Marquez heroes are these dudes

    Glad he pulled away from TT before it cost him his life. Would be such a waste. Really clever bloke with much more to offer than balls out speed. ** EDIT FOR THOSE LACKING SOME CELLS ffs** Goes with out saying that you have skills to road race espeacilly at the TT and other road races. Other racers in general dont present interesting programmes or take part in other interesting engineering events. He hasn't won yet and I'm saying it would be ashame to lose him chasing it as its equally a shame to lose any other skilled rider. We frikin happy now?
