ISLAND SPRING EVENINGS | Life in the Azores

Relax and unwind by one of the highland lakes on a sunny spring evening overlooking the majestic mountain, listening to the birds chirping and sitting in the soft grass doing absolutely nothing but taking in the calmness of this enchanting place.

Live is special. The hatchery is going to be built and it will help support the fish. My Grandson Jonah loves to fish as much as I do. We walk down the path and see the fish swimming. He was three when he caught his first fish my Grandpa took me to a lake and I caught a large mouth bass. He was the best. I lost him in1992 to cancer. I enjoy what I have. It is not much. But it is enough.

beautiful, the silence interspersed with birdsong and ducks - just so intoxicatingly sublime.... I know I have a choice (do I really?)... but seeing you like that makes me feel that I would also like to be in a similar state of calmness and surrounded by Nature's beauty. The problem is that my mind is not ready to do that yet - and often I wonder if I could ever relax like that over a long period of time. So much to do, so little time..... and for what? One day, one day at the break of dawn, the penny will drop and some fairyland will appear on the horizon and beckon to me and I shall go... Thanks, once again for your videos, Rahel. It's like a breath of fresh air to watch and listen to your words.

Dear Charles. Thank you for sharing your thoughts so openly. I don't think that there is a problem with your mind not being ready for calmness and relaxation just yet. If you would like to explore a different way of living and indulge yourself in doing more and experiencing more, it might provide you with a different kind of contentment and that is totally valid. Maybe it's helpful to ask yourself why you get that feeling of wanting to be in a similar state of calmness when you watch my videos and if this feeling your are seeking for can be translated and/or found in your very own way of living? Sending you my best wishes.

I'm sure you can do it if you really want and if you are willing to change your priorities. It certainly isn't easy if you aren't used to a calm life, it takes a lot of adjustment and sacrifices of certain aspects but I believe it's worth it.

Du sicher verstehst, was ich meine.

Hello Rahel, Thank you so very much for sharing this special time and this magical phenomenon of the wind blowing moist air cloud around you. This is really funny, but right here in Miami, Florida, USA, we have the exact same kind of ducks. Seeing them in your part of the world, for a split second, made me feel as though we were next door to each other. The ducks are here in Miami because Miami is crisscrossed with many canals which were built to drain the swampy land. So, there are many man-made waterways here which is an ideal environment for ducks.

That's indeed very funny to know that you have the same kind of ducks where you live. Maybe our ducks originally came all the way from Florida and decided to stay here 😊

Nice ducks and video! We had a couple of ducks come to visit us here in Stavanger. They were slightly larger than the normal ducks we see here, a different breed. They laid an egg in our garden and were gone the next day...🤔

Oh what a wonderful encounter and what a special gift! I hope you take good care of the egg and soon you might have a little duckling, that would be so precious!
