Of course it depends on the individual, and their intentions, extremist ANY RELIGION (OR ANYTHING) is generally bad. Adam ELclon the word islam means peace. in the quran it states how humans are all equal regardless of colour , states womens and mens rights and it even gives us instructions for when it is necessary to fight in war (battles) we must not hurt the nature surroundings and the deceased are not to be walked over. The death threats after the Danish caricature drawins of Muhammad were in a far too high number to say the muslim community as a whole is peaceful. Don't get me wrong, I know for a fact that there are many peaceful muslims and I don't suspect you for being a violent one, but you cannot deny that the religion itself is not. I have been ordered by God to fight with people till they bear testimony to the fact that there is no God but Allah and that Mohammed is his messenger, and that they establish prayer and pay Zakat (money). If they do it, their blood and their property are safe from me" (see Bukhari Vol. I, p. 13). I can't possible think of any way of interpreting this a peaceful message. By the way, death penalty in itself is enought to conclude with that it's not a peaceful religion. It's as simple as that.

I don't see how science is relevant to this topic... at all. If the quoatation I mentioned in my previous comment was no more than a empty threat, it's still a threat. Being intimidating isn't a really peaceful quality. The example I made was the man behind the Muhammad caricature drawing, not a murderer. There is a huge difference there. A drawing brings no harm to anyone (maybe a papercut, but that's it), so there is really no need to get so upset about it. Christians don't go apeshit when people make fun of Jesus. You seem to dodge the death penalty for apostasy thing. I didn't discuss death penalty for crimes, but for leaving Islam. And why is it so important for you that Islam is peaceful? Are you ashamed by the violence in the religion? I'm just curious.

I was raised in a very evangelical christian household. As I grew up I simply started to question everything, and it was very easy to see how false it all was, faith is very subjective and I believe faith can exist without the need for faith in god, or any specific deity or ultimate power. I am interested in learning what others believe, but simply from a historical/theological aspect.

Thank you for suggesting, that I read the quran. Like I said before, I've read it. I prefer to derive my opinion from more then one source of information. (ie, more than just one book) If it takes Kamal 39734972942798247423 hours to explain his argument, he must have a poorly thought out argument. Or no argument. I would suggest that he try to make his argument more concise. I won't respond to name calling, because I believe it doesn't advance the dialogue and it's a cheap emotional tactic. Do you believe apostasy should be punished by whipping or fines, jail sentences or death? Yes I'm aware what the quran says on the subject.

Why don't you give some examples of how he is a good person, rather than citing the ways he indoctrinated people to worship him? Also, I wouldn't show off about the way he taught people to run a country- it isn't exactly working, is it? Unless of course you believe that running a country like a medieval dictatorship is a good idea. Perhaps you should also answer all the other accusations islam faces, rather than just jumping on the only one you can defend as false. You have not proved that islam is a religion of peace- you have just skirted round the issue. All you have proven is that even muslims do not know what they are talking about. Congratulations, you really are a bunch of masterful con artists.

If christianity condemns Judah's big mouth so much, why are you twisting this when Islam condemning Judah for having such a big mouth? As an atheist, would it be dangerous for me to visit the seven Islamic nations that execute people for atheism? When I am asked my beliefs, I freely tell folks that I am a non-believer. So, would my punishment be death by stoning/ beheading/ hanging, or would it be something less severe, such as imprisonment or just a few hundred lashes? Also, I read on another video that persons of the Islamic faith never bother those of other faiths, so may I ask...do folks in Islamic nations never bother other people about their religious beliefs before, during, or after, those people are executed or imprisoned for apostasy? "As of 2013, citizens of the Islamic countries of Afghanistan, Iran, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritania, Nigeria, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates and Yemen face execution under the law for leaving Islam." Our prophet never said anything about people who leave Islam and what should happen to them, and whatever your believes are whether you're an atheist, christian, Jew etc.. we Muslims are not allowed to fight you in any way but in fact you have equal rights as us and now sadly some Islamic countries do not follow the Qur'an and Prophet's teachings and that's wrong things, but it's definitely not because of Islam, Islam is flawless, it's because of people. Indeed, it does appear that the Quran does NOT indicate death for apostates, except in self-defense. Meanshile, here is some text from Wikipedia (also a biased account I am sure), but at least it uses a reference: "Within the Sahih al-Bukhari collection, worldly punishments are described in the following Hadith: "2171. Narrated 'Abdullah: The Prophet said, "The blood of a Muslim, who confesses that Lâ ilâha ill-Allâh (there is no god but Allâh), cannot be shed except in three cases: 1. Life for life (in cases of intentional murders without right i.e., in Al-Qis̩âs̩ - Law of Equality in punishment); 2. A married person who commits illegal sexual intercourse; and 3. This video is very sad and painful to me. As an arab woman and non muslim. It just breaks my heart how very inaccurate you are when talking about islam and suna. It seems like you don't even know your own religion very well and all what you are saying is cherry picking what you find just and what suits you really. It is very hard in the modern times to be able to accept islam as it was in the time of muhammed because its laws (char3) are unjust, barbaric and oppressive. you were right when you said people should judge islam by reading the quran and the sunna (tafsir, hadith and books of fi9h). because if you didn't cherry pick and read the whole verses with the right contexts and read the sirra of the prophet muhammed, you will easily understand how horrible this religion is. you are worshiping a god king named "allah", a god sitting on his throne over water (a name that already existed way before islam and the father of muhammed who was not muslim was named "abdu allah"=slave of allah). i am arab, and unlike you, I know history of arabia, of my ancestors way befor islam. Unlike you, the history of arab beliefs didn't start with muhammed and islam. all the rituals and practices that exist in islam suh as sheep sacrifice for god, fasting and following the moon, walking around the big stone kaaba (tawaf)...were already pagan practices practiced by meccans. muhammed was not stranger to meccan beliefs, his new political goal was to unite all the tribes (hijaz, najaf...) and make them follow a new religion which has meccans beliefs. he went that far mixing even biblical and pagan beliefs in order to make the jews and Christians living in Arabia united with pagans. Mister! you live in the 21 first century, an era where science and archeology are very developed...and you seem denying the pagan influence of your religion. you seem to believe in all the myths present in your faith such as hajuj and majuj, the talking beast of he day of the judgement, the flying horse, adam and eve....etc... Read about the history of mankind, of arabs and mezopotamian civilizations in order to know the origins of your belief. I agree when you said that muhammed is an influencial figure because he is. he was able to invade and conquer the whole of Arabia and extend his invasion from jakarta asia to tangier morocco. and dominate countries under khilafa during years...he was very influential and a great strategist of war. but, you can't say his legislative laws and given rights were the best my dear. I don't know if you are joking or just not knowing your religion, but to compare his laws with our new values and human rights is incomparable. very mysogenic: read how the woman is perceived in islam in hadiths of both sahih muslim and bukhari, a woman can never be an imam, a woman can never lead or be a leader in islam cos she is considered to be less intelligent and has deficiencies as the sunna said. men have more rights to women; When it comes to inheritance, a woman earn half's men inheritance, when it comes to witnessing in court, a man witness = 2 women. a woman cannot marry non muslims whether a man can, a man is allowed to have more than one wife if the first wive agreed. women is considered to be a "fitna" (a source of trouble) she should constantly hide her beauty for men's desires and in order for men to control themselves. in the time of the prophet, women cannot walk outside their houses unless they are accompanied by a "mahram" (an authority which can be her father, husband, brother and even her younger brother has authority over her). both women and men have less rights compared to our new values of today. they cannot chose their faith or religion, they are punished if they love one another ouside marriage. an all the barbaric punishments that you know are not allowed in our modern era and are perceived monstrous. all these things I talked about exist in the book you showed with your hand and the sunna of the prophet. if you follow the real islam, the old islam of salaf, islam of the time of the prophet as inshrined in kutub al fiqh and in quran...you must accept these points I told you about. so please, stop trying to teach and mislead people about islam. stop cherry picking what you like and what seems oK in our time and era...read islam by yourself! and it seems like you are the one learning islam from the media... your statements about Islamic practices having similarities with pre-Islamic Arab practices are interesting but i'm familiar with that. a lot has to do with the fact Islam was originally presented to us by God in the Arabic language. you mentioned Islamic principles may be inferior to "modern laws". if you had more in-depth knowledge on secular laws, a lot of them draw from religious doctrines or principles (besides Greek/Roman schools of philosophy), whether Abrahamic or not, or Islamic or not. the way i would look at it, when a "modern law" condones something we'd earlier considered "immoral" for the sake of a greater worldly interest (utilitarian principle), what is stopping that? what is stopping incest? what is stopping homosexuality? some of things you mentioned are "drawbacks" of Islam to you are exactly what make people embrace Islam.

Sam Glinzia dear friend. you are very biased and history contradicts you unbelievably. first, it is insulting to say that muhamed's ideology was the key to knowledge or to say that arabs were ignorant until islam enlightened them. this is insulting to all pre islamic great philosophers and poets such as imru al-qays or al-nabati... second, islam was one of the main reasons science and arab/persian discoveries and intellects collapsed. Read some history of baghdad and cordoba in the middle ages and see who were the people burning al-kindi, al-farabi books, why averoes was exiled? why ibnu al-arabi and ibnu sina were almost killed? why al maari, omar alkhayam, al-razi, al-toussi, al-jahid...and most of the arab/persian scientist rejected islam? read jawed ali's books and "history of atheism under islamic khilafa`' by sayid abdu almotalib you can't say these lies and propaganda in our era now...everything is clear now. islam at that time considered even mathematics as work of the devil...read about the war imam al-ghazali started against arab/persian scientist at that time...

Im muslim and im really really proud of that, and beside that i have loads of non muslim friends and colleagues, but when it comes to a religion conversation, everyone thinks that he is right, but people we did forget that that there is just one God, and that the most important thing, then the prophets and the messengers they're all from God, and we (muslims) believe on them all, we dont make any difference between them, and i respect any other religion, peace :)

I have to say ma shaa Allah. Many times when we try to something to protect our dear prophet pbuh, we come off harshly and a bit negative in our attempt to defend him. Mashallah brother you have explained it very well. I had tears in my eyes watching this video. Hopefully these people will take the time out to really understand what is Islam.

I have a friend who before she converted to Islam was I think an atheist or Christian but never took it seriously, anyways she used to go clubbing, take drugs, be aggressive, and many more evil doings however everything changed when she came across Islam. She eventually studied Islam and converted, now covered from head to toe, happily married and far far away from all those evil things. Islam brought her peace and she is treated with respect and honour in her new household and this is just one example of how well the girls are treated and how Islam is a religion of peace and that it brings about peace in people's life's.

@faton rasimi Maybe she is an example of someone who was so weak or lacking in self-discipline and self-respect that she felt the need for external control in the form of husband, religion, and threats? Many converts to Islam and Christianity are made in prison, or by drug users, in times of bereavement and depression etc. In other words, like all cultists, Muslims use people's moments of distress or despair to brainwash them into the fold. A high percentage of converts revert after a short time. I wonder if you will still be 'friends' when she does. Can you explain why the vast majority of people of all faiths and none don't need to convert to Islam, and treat others with respect and kindness and compassion as a matter of course? Can you also explain why some people find peace and freedom by leaving Islam (risking death-threats)? Do you have any take on why the converts away from Islam are generally logical, scientific, liberal, intelligent and articulate whereas those converts to Islam seem to be unable to give any rational reasons for their decision? MashAllah a very handsome brother who is doing amazing work correcting those who don't have much knowledge on Islam as well as a reminder to us Muslims. To those who hate on this video and Islam in general, don't think death will not come to you because everything comes to an end (except Allah) so wake up and realise that life is short and is for a reason so don't go on hating just go and talk to practicing Muslims and gain better knowledge than acting like you know everything over the internet.
