After more than 60 years playing guitar (and in bars like Buddy described) my fingers just won't work anymore. My daughter (a very talented musician) said why don't you try the harmonica? I did, about 3 weeks ago, and I love it. I just played Buddy's Carnagie Hall performance and said "I want that". Ok I know that's not real but I've been working on this damn thing for a few week and I think I have another career out there, if I live another 30 or forty years.

The man's a genius with a harmonica pure and simple .He literally played times from all around the world including Ireland my country and as a dedicated follower of music He sounded like as if he was a native of that country when he played their respective songs .USA I'm sure is proud of buddy Greene 👏👏👏👏

This man is a Jewl to the world, I am a shy harmonica player, but this man has encouraged me through his utube channel to push myself out there

Certainly one of the greats of his generation. He pointed out he's stood on the shoulders of those that came before. Charlie McCoy has said that Little Walter, Sonny Terry & Sonny Boy Williamson II (King Biscuit Flower Hour) influenced him as well.

Charlie McCoy was playing in Nashville and making LP’s and backing the big stars then. That was before the internet though. 😉

when I play harmonicas I wind up a little bit whirly from hyperventilation - this fellla comes right back on track with his enthusiastic commentary and explanation -Truly remarkable !!! 🙃

It doesn't get any better than this amazing musician!

I need you to stand back a little..." Then plays "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring"...Buddy needs to train about 5,000 new Grade School and Tweens and Teens how to play Harmonica!! What Buddy Greene does IS ON A WHOLE NOTHER NIVEL...LEVEL!! He's like the guys in the 1980's playing video games on a computer who have maxed out the capacity of the Commodore 64 or Apple 2E...with a 1541 5.25" floppy disk and a joy stick...and the computer is going bonkers...not knowing how to challenge the player any further!!😊😊😊😊

Amazing musician! Been listening to Buddy Greene for over 30 yrs. Love his songs a lot. He also is a very good singer and a prolific writer. He put the music to the awesome song Mark Lowry wrote titled Mary Did You Know.

When he played Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing at the end I immediately startet to cry, although I just listened to this video at the side while I was packing my backpack. It just hit me. Great man.

Been playing since I was a kid. "Always carry a harp in your pocket! ".There's more,listen to masters, take lessons, watch tutorials. Time and practice are king,love music. JW

I freaking lost it when he played La Cucaracha 🤣 I really love that he stuck with diatonic instead of using Chromatic like all the other virtuoso types.

I have heard many of these professionals speech, and that talent comes from years of dedicated practice. Most people can achieve a high level if they just put in the time and work.

@@KGPetrea I know, Greene is such a master but also a scholar and carries tremendous oral history for this instrument. I'm a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter but started off as a Blues harmonica player going on to Blue Grass, Rock, Funk, Latin and Reggae. I still blow harp but never managed to achieve the kind chops of a Buddy Greene. I've listened to him so many times over the years yet he always blows me away, captivates my mind and steals the heart. He's a Giant and beautiful soul. Go well.

Mr. Greene’s main harmonica is a hohner “golden melody”. Usually favors the key of C, but his little suitcase has every key harmonica and then some 😊
