Ilayaraja attempts to know what will be the music of tomorrow- nature of music and the kind of people who will be associated with it. He tells he is not certain whether music is complete with Carnatic or complete with Hindustani or western classical or jazz. On the other hand, he is not sure of himself if music is identified/ synonymous with the icons only. That only God knows or time may tell/decide. He refers to TVG and he(TVG) is fortunate with having a Guru with IR himself being a part of that lineage. IR cites Sundarar@ Thiruvalluvar and asks what is the use of music. By quoting " yezhisaiyai, isai payanai" of Sundarar, he terms that the utility of music is to culminate with the feet of God. That music ultimately @ invaraiably has to touch one's soul.
