Isaiah 53: What is he talking about?

Isaiah 53 is one of the most famous chapters in the book of Isaiah. However, it was mostly misunderstood and purposefully interpreted in a wrong way, to prove a wrong point...
Note:
I did not continue the reading of the chapter because, according to the offered explanation, it is clear that the Jewish people suffer because of their own sins, and not because of the sins of the other nations.

@rabbituvia Did you know God of the Bible calls Jews stiff neck people? Have you read the Book of Judges? Why Jews people were saved from other people and yet they go back and mingled with pagans of their time? Jews of today have veil over their eyes when they read their Torah. Please take off that veil and see God of the Bible is not what you think He is! The first verse of Genesis tells you Elohim(Gods) created the heaven and the earth and next verse talking about his Spirit and next verse says, God said, "Let there be Light" and there was Light This is Word of God So trinity is shown to you in the beginning of this chapter. Next when Adam and Eve sin, God himself killed an animal and took their skin the cover the neckedness of Adam and Even. That shows God will cover the nakedness of the people of this world!

How did you go from light into trinity? It's simply poor biased interpretation. Why not saying like this: there's God and then Maradona and then Messi. There you go! (Sarcasm...) It's a typical thing that Christians want to teach the Torah what it should say instead of learning what it really wants to say...

Suffering Servant (Isaiah 53): This chapter in Isaiah describes the suffering and atoning work of the Messiah, including his rejection, humiliation, and death. Christians interpret this passage as fulfilled in Jesus' crucifixion and the atonement he provided through his sacrifice. Piercing (Zechariah 12:10): Zechariah prophesies that the Messiah would be pierced, which Christians see as fulfilled in Jesus' crucifixion, particularly with the piercing of his side by a spear. His Garments Divided (Psalm 22:18): Psalm 22 mentions the dividing of the Messiah's garments among the soldiers, which corresponds to what happened during Jesus' crucifixion. Silent Before Accusers (Isaiah 53:7): Isaiah prophesies that the Messiah would be silent before his accusers, which is fulfilled in Jesus' behavior during his trial before Pilate. Riding on a Donkey (Zechariah 9:9): Zechariah prophesies that the Messiah would enter Jerusalem riding on a donkey, which is fulfilled in Jesus' triumphal entry. Eternal Kingdom (Daniel 7:13-14): Daniel prophesies that the Messiah would receive an eternal kingdom, which Christians believe will be fulfilled in the future reign of Jesus Christ. Healing and Restoration (Isaiah 61:1-2): Isaiah foretells that the Messiah would bring healing and restoration to the brokenhearted and oppressed, which Christians see fulfilled in Jesus' ministry of preaching, healing, and deliverance. Gentiles Seek Him (Isaiah 11:10): Isaiah prophesies that the Gentiles would seek the Messiah, which Christians interpret as fulfilled in the spread of Christianity to non-Jewish people after Jesus' resurrection.

You do not understand what the messianship means in judaism..you should listen rav. Tovia Singer as well..and others until (maybe) God will open your eyes and heart to His Torah. Then and only then will you be able to fulfill the words of Yeshua himself: Mark 3: 33-35: "And he answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” 34 And slooking about at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.” Matthew 12: 50"For hoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” Luke 19: 21 "But he answered them, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.” Where is the word of God given ? In the Torah, the 5 books of Moshe. There is described the Will of the Father.. Do what Yeshua was doing, meaning respecting the Law, NOT was (others, specialy Paul) imagined about him. He told you that this Law will never change..he told you he came to fulfill the Law (7 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.) WHY DON,T YOU LISTEN TO HIM ? Jews HAVE to keep Torah because they promised to do so..and they are severely punished if they do not. Have you read the 10 ComCommandments? Did you noticed the second one? Since when is any interpretation of Torah or Profets more important then the words proclaimed by God at Sinai? Be carreful, less Yeshua my brother will addres you with this words: Matthew 7:21. "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’

Well, there were a lot more than 10 commandments there were 600+ commandments in the Old Testament and if you gonna be a good person that follows God‘s laws, you have to follow each and every one of them that’s why Paul the apostle said it’s impossible. Only Jesus was perfect. That’s why he fulfilled the criteria for the Messiah, I’ve talked to many rabbis in Chicago within the last 20 years that said they think now he was the person they thought it was closest to being the true Messiah. @@lilianavois4391 When God gave the Law to the children of Israel through Moses , the children of Israel had to keep it to obtain righteousness. If they were able to keep it they would receive the blessing of Deuteronomy 28 : 1 - 14 but if they failed as was always the case they suffered the curses of Deuteronomy 28 : 15 -68 . No human being that was ever born on earth was ever able to keep all the 613commandments . Human beings cannot keep the 10 commandments . Man even failed to keep one commandment in the Garden of Eden. Man cannot make himself righteousness and holy on his own strength . He needs a Saviour . God had a plan to save mankind from being dominated by Satan and sin. God made Himself a body and came down to earth in a body like we sinners have and lived a sinless life on this earth and kept all the commandments thus fulfilling the demands of the law of Moses for righteousness on our behalf. Romans 10 : 4 that Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes . Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice for our sins and was crucified on the Cross of Calvary and paid for our sins in full. Jesus's sacrifice atoned for our sins on the Cross and satisfied the wrath of God and our sins were forgiven. God in Jeremiah 31 : 31 - 34 complained that Israel did not keep the terms of the Old Covenant of the law of Moses and promised to change that Covenant in the future. Jesus Christ instituted a New Covenant during the last Supper when He gave the Cup to his disciples and told them all to drink in it for it was His Blood that would be shed by many. His disciples were Galilean and understood exactly what it meant as God's salvation is predicated on the Jewish marriage. The Old Covenant of the law of Moses ceased to be in force when Jesus died on the Cross and the Curtain leading to the Holy of Jollies torn into two .The new Covenant of Grace came into effect. Thus it was not Paul who did away with the law but God Himself . We are now saved by grace alone through faith alone because we believe in Jesus Christ and His gospel and are born again or saved according to Romans 10 : 9 - 13 . JESUS IS LORD

Light to the Gentiles (Isaiah 42:6): Isaiah prophesies that the Messiah would be a light to the Gentiles, bringing salvation to the ends of the earth. Christians interpret this as fulfilled in Jesus' ministry and the spread of Christianity to non-Jewish people. New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-34): Jeremiah prophesies the establishment of a new covenant by God, which Christians believe was fulfilled in Jesus' institution of the new covenant through his sacrificial death and resurrection. Burial with the Rich (Isaiah 53:9): Isaiah prophesies that the Messiah's burial would be with the rich, which Christians see as fulfilled in Jesus being laid in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea, a wealthy disciple. Descent to Egypt (Hosea 11:1): Hosea prophesies that the Messiah would be called out of Egypt, which is seen as fulfilled in Jesus' family fleeing to Egypt to escape Herod's persecution. Called a Nazarene (Matthew 2:23): Though not a direct quote from the Old Testament, Matthew mentions that Jesus would be called a Nazarene, possibly fulfilling prophecies related to the despised nature of Nazareth (e.g., Isaiah 53:3). A Voice Crying in the Wilderness (Isaiah 40:3): Isaiah prophesies the coming of a voice crying in the wilderness to prepare the way for the Lord, which Christians believe was fulfilled in the ministry of John the Baptist, who prepared the people for Jesus' ministry. Zion's King (Zechariah 9:9): Zechariah prophesies that the Messiah would come to Zion as a king, riding on a donkey, which Christians see as fulfilled in Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Rejection by Israel (Isaiah 53:3): Isaiah prophesies that the Messiah would be despised and rejected by his own people, which Christians believe was fulfilled in Jesus' rejection by the Jewish leaders and populace. Triumph Over Death (Hosea 13:14): Hosea prophesies that the Messiah would ultimately triumph over death, which Christians see as fulfilled in Jesus' resurrection from the dead.

If this is true and we all must bear our own sin why is there a concept of a scapegoat and atonement sacrifice throughout the Torah. God used animal sacrifice and ritual to show we bear iniquity we cannot pay for, correct? These things were ways to atone for sins because death is the price for sin so they were required to continue with these sacrifices daily and yearly. These animal sacrifices were a practice throughout Israel's history and suddenly stopped with the destruction of the 2nd temple in 70 AD. How are you're sins covered now? Rabbi Serber is an intelligent, knowledgeable, likeable, sensitive, and humble man who is earnestly seeking God’s Truth. Admirably, he takes the time to share his thoughts with others. Sadly, however, he is also willing to interpret God’s Word in a manner to preserve something that shouldn’t be preserved at the expense of Truth. As a summary of this video’s teaching regarding Isaiah 53, the rabbi suggests that the suffering servant described refers to the Jewish people. He claims the Jewish people are the ones who suffer for the sins of the non-Jewish peoples. The rabbi also suggests the text has layered meanings; that throughout the generations certain righteous Jewish men have borne the sicknesses, suffered the afflictions, and received the wounds that others deserve. That Moses, Hezekiah, and many others may have fulfilled this role, and the chapter refers to all of them. And, if I am understanding the rabbi correctly, ultimately, Moshiach carries the Jewish people’s sins in Heaven bringing the Jewish people redemption, and this is reflected through certain chosen men living upon the earth. There are serious problems with this interpretation, however. Could the nation of Israel be considered an unblemished lamb? Were the Jewish people ever sinless? Did the Jewish people ever suffer without complaint? Did the Jewish people die for Isaiah’s people, the Jewish people? After death, did Almighty God “prolong” the Jewish people’s days? As for specific Jewish men fulfilling the role described within the chapter, do any of them fit the description provided? Were any of them righteous within the eyes of God? For God says there are none who are righteous: “God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; THERE IS NONE THAT DOETH GOOD, NO, NOT ONE.” (Psalms 53:2-3) “BUT WE ARE ALL AS AN UNCLEAN THING, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” (Isaiah 64:6) “ALL WE LIKE SHEEP HAVE GONE ASTRAY; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6) These verses indicate that Isaiah 53 can only refer to the Messiah - the early Jewish sages knew this to be true. And now we should come to understand that only Jesus was sinless. That only Yeshua could be an acceptable sacrifice within the eyes of a HOLY and RIGHTEOUS God. The Jewish people, and all people, can only be redeemed by the atoning blood sacrifice of Messiah. The Spirit of the Living God came upon me one day and showed me what Isaiah 53 actually is; the passage is an astonishing love letter from our glorious Creator to His creation. Don't allow the pride-of-life to keep you from seeing it. May HaShem bless each of you!!! And may Almighty God provide for, protect, and preserve the children of Israel.

Hi!! Whole introduction is completely unnecessary, but let's go to the important points. 1. If you read the commentary I left on the video, the continuation of Isaiah's text shows that the Jewish people are not suffering because of the sins of the Nations, rather because of their own sins. This point is clear according to the commentary of Radak that I made a point of reading in the video. This is what Isaiah is saying, on the half of the Nations, "we thought"... Which indicates that it is not the way they thought... And this is why the verse in Ezekiel clearly says that no one carries the sense of somebody else. And this includes a father for a son, a son for the father, one man for another and how much more so one nation for another. 2. The way I understand it is as follows: in Judaism we try to understand what the text is saying to us, while in Christianity they try to tell the text what it should say. 3. If you are going to quote the verse saying that nobody is exempt from sin (see Kohelet 7:20), there are bad news for you: this would include J. And if you're going to say that for some reason it doesn't include him, there's no such concept in Judaism...

Hello, Rabbi! Thank you for making this video. I respectfully disagree with your conclusions, however. Within Isaiah 53, someone is suffering and dying for someone else. I think we can agree on this, right? It is obvious from reading the text. But within your comment, however, you suggest that Ezekiel 18:20 refutes the belief that the suffering servant of Isaiah 53 is Jesus. I think I can demonstrate that the Ezekiel verse you cite clearly points to the suffering servant being the promised Messiah, Jesus Christ. “The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.” (Ezekiel 18:20) This simple verse says a lot. So, please allow to first say what it is not saying. This verse is NOT saying that the Messiah cannot come into the world and take the punishment that each of us deserve upon Himself - as Isaiah 53 clearly describes, as the early Jewish sages recognized. And this verse is NOT saying that that Messiah cannot die in our place- as Isaiah 53 clearly describes. So, here is what the Ezekiel verse actually IS saying.: The verse provides insight into how God will judge each of us according to His righteousness. (God does not judge according to man’s standards. Understanding God’s Holiness is the beginning of wisdom.) The verse is saying is that ON JUDGEMENT DAY, each of us will be held accountable for our own sins. God is reassuring us that the stain of sin does not pass through the generations or through family lineages. That each of us will not be held accountable for the words, thoughts, and actions of others but will be judged only according to our own words, thoughts, and actions. Yes, the “righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.” Please note that this is saying that there shall be ONLY one of two verdicts that can be reached. On judgement day, you shall only be judged righteous or wicked. Also, please note that “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” But what exactly is a “soul death?” How can a soul die? A soul dying means the soul shall be eternally separated from Almighty God. Now, here is how the Ezekiel verse leads us directly Isaiah 53. Throughout the Hebrew bible, God tells us that no person is righteous. God tells us that even our good works are as filthy rags to Him. Why? Because God is morally perfect in word, thought, and action for God is HOLY and RIGHTEOUS. And because we are not holy and righteous, we shall be found guilty on Judgement Day. Each of us will be judged as wicked and will be sentenced to death. Yes, and the soul that sinned shall be separated eternally from our Creator. The Ezekiel verse 18:20 points to our need for redemption by a Savior BEFORE Judgement Day. This Savior is the suffering servant described in Isaiah 53 that bears our iniquities and suffers for our transgressions. The suffering servant takes the death-sentence punishment that each of us deserves upon Himself. For it is only by having our sins removed through the atoning blood (substitutional) sacrifice of Messiah that we can show-up on Judgement Day and be found to be righteous by a HOLY and RIGHTEOUS God. Those who rely on their own "righteousness" shall be found guilty. Those who reject the sacrifice of Messiah shall be judged according to their words thoughts and actions and shall be found guilty by a HOLY and RIGHTEOUS God. They shall be judged as wicked and surely their souls shall die. Ezekiel points to our need for a Savior. Ezekiel points to Isaiah 53 which, in turn, points to our Messiah, Jesus Christ.

Hi! All your logic can be destroyed by reading next verse of Ezekiel (18:21): "Moreover, if someone wicked repents of all the sins that were committed and keeps all My laws and does what is just and right, they shall live; they shall not die." Ezekiel is not talking about any savior, like you want to push into his words. By the way, Ezekiel is not talking about a future judgement, rather, about reward and punishment in general. The commentaries say that the repetition of words "shall live, shall not die" mean "shall live" on this physical world and "shall not die" in the world to come. I mean, you don't need a savior: repent yourself. This is the clear meaning of the whole chapter.

@@rabbituvia : I'm sorry, no. You are misunderstanding all of Ezekiel 18. You state: "I mean, you don't need a savior: repent yourself. This is the clear meaning of the whole chapter." And this is the whole problem with your understanding in a nutshell. What an extraordinarily prideful and arrogant thing to say. Probably the most sinister part of your stated belief is the seemingly innocuous word "yourself." "But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. Let's look at the verse you cite in context. But, sadly, if you didn't get the prior part you not likely to get what comes next. "But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die." (Ezekiel 18:21-24) So, no God is not telling us that nobody needs a Savior; that they can fix themselves and make themselves right with God. Absolutely not. Within this passage Almighty God is once again reassuring us that, regarding our salvation, the playing field is level. That all hope is not lost for the sinner. Moreover, God is telling us that the sinner who has turned away from sin is not in the clear. The righteous are expected to continue to reject sin and not turn back to sin - it has to become one's inner nature... Yes, this passage is about repentance. But repentance is more than what you believe. We must learn to rightly divide scripture between the natural and the spiritual. True spiritual repentance is not merely turning away from sin. It is actually more than turning away from the world, too, though that's part of it. True repentance involves turning away from SELF (as in "you don't need a savior; repent yourself.) True, spiritual repentance means giving our free will and our hearts back to God so that He might put His Spirit within us and transform us into His image - the image we were created to be. So here is what you are missing; that it is impossible for us to keep God's laws and live up to His divine standard unless God gives us a new heart and puts His Spirit within us. To understand God's definition of repentance, just look to the words of King David: "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. (Psalms 51:10-14) So, David is clearly repenting here. But is He doing it by himself? Under his own power and strength? No. King David clearly needs God. That's why He is crying out to God. King David is seeking the Savior.

Christianity wants the Torah to say their message instead of trying to get the message Torah is telling them. The word savior is not to be found in either texts you quote. Before I address the more egregiously unsustainable point, I want to say something about your propensity to ignore any defeating evidence. For example, you said “I don’t care if there are other perspectives”, and then you counsel your listeners to “open your eyes”. “I don’t care” reveals much about the man. A diligent and intellectually honest person does care about details and conflicting evidence and argument. But let me ask you why you prefer Rashi over Rambam (is it because the former aligns with your Procrustean hermeneutic?): the latter stated that Isaiah 53 was messianic. And what about Moshe Kohen Iben Crispin’s messianic take on the passage? Do these make you feel a little uneasy? It’s entirely convenient of you to ignore the chapter as a unit, preferring to cherry-pick your way through it. And what about drawing a symmetry between ‘he’ of 53 and ‘the Jewish people’ in other contexts? Wow! Talk about question begging at its finest. Is that the intellectual standard at a yeshiva? Glad I never “studied” at one! Speaking of equating ‘my servant’ with the Jewish people’, why didn’t you mention the fact that Job, Abraham, Moses, Joshua and David are also called by that title? Inconvenient, was it! But let’s see how silly your piece of propaganda is. (Excuse me if I get a few details wrong: your spin is so strained it’s difficult to piece together.) 1. You start off claiming that the entire passage is about what the goyim believe about Israel: corporate Jewry was being punished by God for the transgressions (‘pesha’ - wow!) of the goyim. Why would the pagan goyim have an understanding of sin and transgression against God? Why would they believe that Jews were being punished to expiate goyim sins and transgressions? Where is the evidence for this assertion outside of your convoluted take on Tanach? 2. “For He was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgressions of My people He was stricken.” When was he, corporate Jewry, cut off from the land of the living? How can he, corporate Jewry, be cut out from the land of the living, for the transgressions of my people (i.e., corporate Jewry), when you’ve just claimed that the goyim believe corporate Jewry is being punished for the sins of the goyim? All this is far too convoluted and filled with tendentious special pleading from beginning to end. 3. “When you make his soul a sin offering [asham]”. Now, an asham must be without blemish i.e., perfect. Let’s fit this fact back into your take on the passage. If the ‘you’ is the goyim, why would the goyim believe the Jews are perfect? This would contradict the goyim’s belief that the Jews are cursed by God because of their sins. When have the goyim ever believed the Jews are “without blemish”? You can’t have it both ways. However, if ‘his soul’ refers to corporate Jewry making corporate Jewry an asham, how can an imperfect offering (Jews and their sins) be taken seriously as a perfect offering? They clearly are not without blemish. Torah is clear: the offering must be WITHOUT BLEMISH, and your spin cannot be squeezed into Isaiah and make it read sensibly. As one commentator has said, your view that corporate Israel is ‘my servant’ in Isaiah 53, “distorts the passage from its natural meaning.”

Hi!! Thank you so much for your commentary. I was waiting for it. Do you complain about ad hominem? You just start like that... poor beginning. Next paragraph of my answer should be enough to explain my opening "I don't care". Rashi? Rambam? Wrong question my friend. Shows lack of knowledge on the subject or maybe animosity. Rashi is Pshat, simple clear meaning. Rambam is not a Tanach commentator and, if he quotes anything, is in a way of Drush (homily). I suppose you should know this after living in Jerusalem and having 5 years of philosophy. By the way, this Crispin guy you quote, didn't exist at all as an authority on any subject... Please read: www.judaismsanswer.com/crispin.htm It's sad to have such a learned individual falling into the stupidity and inventions of missionaries. Please. Please. I expect more from you. Regarding "servant". I made a point to read from chapter 51 on (some few parts of verses) to put you into context: Isaiah is talking to Jews about Jews and Jerusalem. You are the one taking the chapter (which actually doesn't exist as chapter in the Jewish tradition, something I explained in the video and you ignored). See commentary on Radak that I quoted. Anyway, you didn't read the first comment I left on the video... That answers basically all your points... You ask about the pagan non Jews knowing or not knowing. Who do you think is Isaiah talking to? People? Is he talking to all the nations of the world? Did he gather everyone in the whole world? Please... This whole "conversation" is a prophesy and Isaiah is talking on behalf of the nations. That means, he is saying what the nations would say in a future judgement. The point is that he is talking to Jews, trying to admonish them. The nations THINK Jews are being punished because of the sins of the nations. But that assumption is wrong. Jews are begin punished because of their own sins. Regarding the blemish of an offering... what a poor argument you have... Tell me: Where in the WHOLE Torah do you have a human offering? Nowhere. Actually quite the opposite: Devarim 12:31 claims that the idolaters did that, and Jews should not do it... Would God accept a human offering? So don't come to me with laws about offerings applying to... a human being! By the way, all offerings (except for birds) need to be unblemished. Well, the only thing I should actually make a strong point about is: don't delete the comments...

Isaiah speaks the prophecy of God to the Jewish people, of their redemption, who cut Him off (transgression (singular) is not sins plural), the Messiah from the land of the living, a plague to them (My people). He was buried in a grave of a rich man, resurrected. 2000 years of suffering of the Jews did not save one Gentile. You are wrong, The only Savior is Yeshua (Isa 43:10+11). He is the El God, the Savior. He has come (Dan 9:26).

Isaiah 53:5 But He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. This is talking about a SINGULAR PERSON PERIOD!!!! it IS NOT talking about Israel or the "Jews", and Moses, Aaron, Miriam, Abraham and his sons were all Hebrew not Jews, even jews admit that they are not Hebrew or Israelites, they actually admit it.

Ok your “other” perspective makes zero sense. Why? Because it doesn’t fit what is written exactly. For example Isaiah 53 says “He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.” That is very specific! Who specifically was assigned a grave for the wicked, but ended up being buried in a rich man’s tomb? Answer: there is ONLY ONE and that was Jesus! Who had done no violence and had no deceit in his mouth? Again it could be only one person! Jesus! Furthermore we see in other chapters like in Zachariah 12:10, which mirrors Isaiah 53, it again refers to God who the Jewish people pierced? Tell me, when did the Jewish people pierce Yahweh? Where in the Old Testament does it talk about God being pierced? Answer: Jesus was pierced. And when was he pierced? Jesus was pierced on Passover weekend. Why? Because Jesus was the sacrificial lamb who paid for the sins of the world. Zechariah 12:10 Him Whom They Have Pierced 10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn. 11 On that day the mourning in Jerusalem will be as great as the mourning for Hadad-rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.” And then we also know from Psalm 22 the explicit details of the crucifixion of Jesus. It even goes into the specific details of how Jesus’s clothes would be divided up by casting lots, which actually happened after the crucifixion. Furthermore, we know from Micah 5:2 that Jesus, the Messiah would be born in a manger in Bethlehem and be from the tribe of Judah. Again very very specific! And in Isaiah 7:14, we learn that Jesus would be born from a virgin mother! Again very specific, and only one person in history was born of a virgin - Jesus! And then in Isaiah 9:6-7we learn who Jesus would become… Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Rabbi Isiah 53 would be a blasphemy if israel had to take on the sins of others including their own , the only saviour is God his name is salvation go see it in Hebrew, you know what salvation is in Hebrew let it stair in your face, Isiah was a prophet and the Things that God reveals to him where of the future, Rabbi the Massiah is not some king of this earth , He is King of kings and Lord of lords, He is the High priest of all little high priest that that their ever was and could ever could be in Israel and most importantly He is the King of all the the Heaven and the earth , no one can handle our sins and take it on himself as a nation or as a normal individual man. Rabbi your traditions have blinded you , certain tradition to show that Israel was different from the rest of the whole world becuase of their father Abraham's obidience to God where given by God as a indication that Israel are God's chosen natiin to lead by example but then your past time Rabbis added more to tradition and making part of Law and that makes the whole law a great weight to carry , God is simple He was never difficult but you know how many times Israel sinned agianst it's God who is the God of Christians today and not of catholic christians, I am talking about gentiles who came to know the Massaih and his teching, catholic comes from rome, they took the name of our Lord and used it to suit their evil agendas, Rabbi whether you accept it or not, you only half way in your truth but the other half you will not gain if you don't ask God for yourself to show you the Massaih

Don't thing any commentary instead read the text and try to understand what your text says Ok? Read Psalm 2 > 6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. Who is this King? 7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Who was "my Son"??? 12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him. So as per this verse the wrath of God's son will destroy you So read your Bible very carefully Ok? I know you are waiting for AntiChrist who will come and sit in the Temple of God and once you recognize him, it iwll be too late for you and your family to get out of his grasp And this antiChrist will kill 2/3 of Jews in your Israel so please wake up and ask God to show you the Truth Ok?

sorry my brother but the fact how isaiah written in the bc 8 century and the historical records (not the bible but tacitus who was the age chronicles of the roman empire!) and then what happened with jesus... the vvhole 53 chapter talking about this: 1. someone revealed as arm of the lord 2. someone as a living in the dying earth still the jews not seen him pretty 3. despised and rejected by jews 4. still that person bored/beared the pain and illness of the peoples and still they rejected him as a plague and thought he was punished by god 5. but it was made by god cause by his pain peoples get transgressions and by his wounds the peoples healed 6. peoples astrayed and god accepted his prays t forgive the inquity of us! 7. describe him as a lamb what used to sacrifice for the forgiveness of god! and he was also silent like lambs what offered for sacrifice for the sins of mans! 8. was imprisoment and judged by jews and then executed and ''cut off from the land of living'' cause transgression of jews! 9. but he was innocent not murdered nor LIED! everything what he said is true but peoples judged him! 10. but it was god who crushed him for the purpose to the peoples heal by his wounds 11. that person did without regret which mean absorbed tha pain and illness and sacrificed himself for the sahke of peoples! 12. ''Therefore, I will allot him a portion in public, and with the strong he shall share plunder, because he poured out his soul to death, and with transgressors he was counted; and he bore the sin of many, and interceded for the transgressors.'' all of this verses and the full chapter litereally describe the HISTORICAL EVENTS about jesus christ's crucifixion! pontius pilatus washed his hands cause jesus not made a sin nor broke the law he was not criminal nor sinner the jews still rejected him and jailed him tortured him wounded him then crucified him! that person not regret nor cursed them but absorbed all of their sins even the sin what they did with him and prayed to god before his death to forgive them for their sins!!! and it is historical event... the biblical event say he resurrected after 3 days and etc but the historical event happened excatly the same way what isaiah told 800 years before those events!!! it is litereally scary because a man told a story before 800 years ago and happened excatly that vvay! isaiah 53 1Who would have believed our report, and to whom was the arm of the Lord revealed? 2And he came up like a sapling before it, and like a root from dry ground, he had neither form nor comeliness; and we saw him that he had no appearance. Now shall we desire him? 3Despised and rejected by men, a man of pains and accustomed to illness, and as one who hides his face from us, despised and we held him of no account. 4Indeed, he bore our illnesses, and our pains-he carried them, yet we accounted him as plagued, smitten by God and oppressed. 5But he was pained because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities; the chastisement of our welfare was upon him, and with his wound we were healed. 6We all went astray like sheep, we have turned, each one on his way, and the Lord accepted his prayers for the iniquity of all of us. 7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he would not open his mouth; like a lamb to the slaughter he would be brought, and like a ewe that is mute before her shearers, and he would not open his mouth. 8From imprisonment and from judgment he is taken, and his generation who shall tell? For he was cut off from the land of the living; because of the transgression of my people, a plague befell them. 9And he gave his grave to the wicked, and to the wealthy with his kinds of death, because he committed no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth. 10And the Lord wished to crush him, He made him ill; if his soul makes itself restitution, he shall see children, he shall prolong his days, and God's purpose shall prosper in his hand. 11From the toil of his soul he would see, he would be satisfied; with his knowledge My servant would vindicate the just for many, and their iniquities he would bear. 12Therefore, I will allot him a portion in public, and with the strong he shall share plunder, because he poured out his soul to death, and with transgressors he was counted; and he bore the sin of many, and interceded for the transgressors.

Yet it was the will of the LORD to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. (Isaiah 53:10, ESV)

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. clearly the prophecy is about the christ.......

@@rabbituvia Allah said no race is born superior in his view we are all the same as teeth of a comb and whats more important is ur believe and deeds. O Beni Isreal Allah gave u the Holy Land whit conditions when he saved u whit Moses from Firaun. He was the one supplying u throught 40 Years of Desert while u were searching and after u found it and inheritated that Land and Solomon became King God gave him a Vision he saw ur false Messiah that u are waiting for now sitting on his throne guess what he did He prayed to Allah, “My Lord! Forgive me, and grant me an authority that nobody can inheritate my Kingdom after me. You are indeed the Giver ˹of all bounties˺.” after Solomon died Great Isreal collapsed and u became Sinful and spread corruption in the divided Holy Land! So God expelled u whit an Babylon Army attacking u destroying ur Temple after u were enslaved and crying he heard u and promised u an Messiah who will bring back the Golden Age of Great Isreal indeed God is the most Merciful. But u couldnt accept a Messiah who wasnt a JEW pure ignorance indeed he was trurly the real Messiah, after u humiliated him and his blessed Mother. ALLAH this time send u a second Army that will again destroy ur Temple and this times u are banned from the Holy Land and spread to the World u will never return to this Land until Gog and Magog will bring u back, but come back again and i shall return whit my punishment! Indeed Yahuud ur playing whit fire dont waste ur afterlife for being arrogant
