Ilia's 3Lz+3A+3T in the long program was insane..... To throw out a combo like that in the second half after popping 2 jumps and falling on his 4A is wild. The kid reeks of athleticism and his mental strength is amazing. His mom was an amazing jumper, I can definitely see where he gets it from.

I'm so proud of the Amber. I have watched her skate since she was a little girl. She always tried so hard to fit in and do whatever she thought the judges wanted from her. Whatever and whoever the skating world expected her to be. Now she has embraced who she truly is. She has come out, and she is finally herself out on the ice. And herself is completely fabulous. Her skating is now so authentic . And that authenticity is what gives her confidence. She just pulls you in and wears her emotions on her sleeve out there. Love love for skating now. I'm so proud of her.

I do like Isabeau. She seems like a sweet girl and she's get some really great qualities (ex: performance, footwork, spins, etc.), but I think her jumps will be a problem. That technique she uses is very concerning. I really do wonder if she will able to jump after she reaches puberty (presumably by next season). Also, very concerned about her with who her coach is and what she has said in interviews (ex: being an Eteri worshipper (despite the evidence of child abuse) that thinks Russians should all be allowed to compete even with their issues of doping, and saying how "she knows Isabeau more than her own mother does").

@@lyramusica4485 It's almost unavoidable in the industry in some ways honestly. I only made it to Freestyle 1 as a skater (simple single jumps) and overheard my own coach telling a recreational student that was seven she couldn't do her program because "she ate pancakes for breakfast..." Definitely sad and has impacted many skaters, gymnasts, dancers, etc both recreationally and professionally.

@@lyramusica4485 it's not etiri's style tbh. Extreme weight restriction is everywhere in sports like these, gymnastics, figure skating, ballet. It was the case back in the days too, it's just that maintaining minimum weight cannot sustain the higher technical jumps anymore. And they're trying to make it resulting in more injuries.

This has been such an interesting video for me to stumble upon. I was the 2x national bronze medalist, back in the early 2000s, as well as a member of the US team, and the World Team. Along with Naomi Nam and Sasha Cohen, I was also coached by John Nicks, and in watching the clips of the ladies, seen in this video, I couldn't help, but be reminded of, both, Naomi and Sasha, when I saw the skating of Josephine, and Isabeau. There are a multitude of qualities about Josephine's skating, and overall presence upon the ice, which immensely remind me of Naomi, and, likewise, Isabeau's style absolutely makes me think of Sasha. Both are lovely skaters, indeed. I'm glad I came across this video! It has definitely been some time, since I last immersed myself back into the skating world!😋

Isabeau levito being the next big thing is proof that ladies figure skating is moving backwards. It's calming to know that the junior ladies shows very promising future otherwise it will be the end of ladies fs. The senior competitions are such a bore. I think it's partly due to the Russians not competing. They're letting their guard down and doesn't try as hard when the Russians are there. They're playing house and so full of mediocre performance that i don't even follow it anymore. I just watch the top replays and they're not better, they just didn't fall like the rest. The junior ladies has been full of entertainment. Even the girls without ultra c elements have such a great artistry and captivating performance. And i think we're seeing another Kim Yuna x Mao Asada rivalry between Jia Shin and Mao Shimada. Every competition they face each other, yk its gonna be good

So will any country ever have women jumping quads other than our 'roid loving Russians? I love Isabeau's lines but I'm not sure she's my ride or die. Of course, there's not been a ride or die since Michelle so that's drought. As always, love your commentary. Josephine seems promising!

Some japanese skaters like Rion can jump quadruples. Also in both japanese and korean field 3A is getting quite popular and consistent between juniors.

My thing with Gracie is we willing her back but she comes back with the same outfit for the last 2 seasons and not doing her 3axel then wonders why her marks are low. Somebody needs to be around you who will tell you NO.

Question: Why do they show the winning ceremony from the behind of the winners and not from a side/front? Like the viewer doesn't even able to see the medals and the person "behind" it.
