IS300 Garage Paint Job DIY
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
My car is finally one color now! It's definitely far from perfect but I'm satisfied with how it turned out considering it's my first full paint job. Thanks to STREETWISE Garage and Tony from Learn Auto Body & Paint, I learned everything from watching their videos.
BIG MAHALO to everyone who has subscribed so far. Stay tuned for more content!

Dope body kit and where did you get the fenders!!
This was a very helpful video! I am in the process of repainting the quarter panel and bumper on one of my cars. Did you use "1k" or 2k" products. I was doing some research but I'm getting conflicting info about paint compatibility with urethane paint. I'm curious what you used? Thanks!
@Nickodelic

Hey sorry for the late reply, I haven’t been getting notifications lately. I used a 2k urethane clear. Good luck with the painting!
Theres a chance I mixed out the paint for you without even knowing. This is sick man

The color looks good. Great job man. *Was that a harbor freight gun? *How much did all the supplies cost you for this color? *What was the total timeline to get this repaint done?
@Nickodelic

Welcome To The Madness Thanks man! Yeah I used a harbor freight paint gun. I used their purple gun for base coat and the silver gun for clear coat. But I prefer the purple gun because I liked how it sprayed. Without the compressor I’d say I spent about $1000 for everything. Paint and clear was $450. Primer for the bodykit was around $150. And all the other stuff like sand paper, tape, degreaser, plastic film was probably around $300. Add another $100 for some small stuff I may have forgot. Timeline was: Prep the body kit: major bodywork including sanding with 80-120 grit, sand with 220 grit, primer, fix any more issues revealed from primer, wetsand with 400 grit. Prep the car: remove/disassemble stuff if you want, scuff door jambs, wetsand car with at least 400 grit. I didn’t do much bodywork or priming on the car. Lastly mask off everything that will not be painted Last is the fun part which is to spray the car. Clean everything with wax and grease remover before painting. I’m not a professional! I’m just sharing my steps and process even through they may not be the correct way. The whole thing took 4 months for me to do from start to finish. I only worked on it about once a week and worst part was prepping the bodykit.

Nickodelic Sweet, like you said it’s your first go at it. For the cost it’s even better. Some time and now you have some knowledge for the next time if you choose to do it again. I like the end result man! Congrats on your ride. It’s clean.
Amazing paintwork for a DIY job! Lots of elbow grease but its a super clean and unique look. Casually decided to paint the whole car lol. What's the song at 4:45?

808 pump Thanks man! And sorry I’m not the guy for bodywork and paint lol. Just did all this on my free time. And nah my car’s not show worthy. Looking forward to seeing the progress on yours!
Where’d you get your body pieces from?
Got a question bro, do you have to primer the body after sanding it? 1-3 times? How come you just sanded and just went straight to painting?
@Nickodelic
8 ай бұрын
Sorry, late response. Im not a professional but I don’t think primer is necessary unless you are starting with bare metal or plastic. I skipped priming the car cause I was on a budget. Just scuff and shoot, not show quality but good enough for what I needed.
What is the colour code i like that colour man

What was the total cost of all the paint and tools?
@Nickodelic
4 жыл бұрын
Without the compressor, I'd say about $1000 Paint and Clear Coat - $450 (1 gallon for each) Primer - $150 (I kept buying aerosol cans) Harbor freight paint gun - $30 Prep material/misc - $300 (sand paper, tape, plastic sheet, small stuff here and there) I still have a lot of prep material left over such as sand paper and plastic sheets.
Bro what lip kit is that all around?
