Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

My new BMW F15 xDrive35i X5 with the N55 motor started misfiring today. I show you how I fixed the misfire in this video.
I documented the entire process of troubleshooting and show you how I fixed the issues.
You can also treat this video as a spark plug DIY as I show you how to change out your spark plugs as well.

I got that code today after changing out the tensioner pulley and cleaning up the vanos solenoids. I replaced all the o-rings on the vanos and the rings on the camshaft sensors. It ran terrible after the initial start, but then it warmed up and I took it for a drive. After I shut it down, I restarted and it cleared it self. I'm getting close to 58K miles, I'm gonna hold out until I hit 60K for the spark plugs. I already have all the parts for the walnut blast too. Great content bud, keep it up!

Love you videos on the N55 which helps me a ton when diagnosing & fixing my F10 535i M Sport Bimmer. Will replace old spark plugs new Bosh OEM's as im getting random misfires and mostly on cylinders 4 & 6 only when i drive it on Sports Mode & try to haul ass! lol. Will also clean the map sensor just in case to make sure everything is ok! Love having all the necessary proper tools for this car as they not only save a ton of money fixing it myself but saves huge amounts of precious time!

Same car, same exact issues here.. worst part I took to some guy who told me “he knew what he was doing” and he fucked it up, changed the wrong fuel injector. My N55 was having misfires on cylinders 4,5,6. So now I have to tow into SSR Performance which is NOT GOING TO BE CHEAP. But I have no other option at this point as these cars are extremely complicated and only a select few truly know how to work on them. Think about BMW as a cheaper version of a rolls Royce. No one should touch them except certified mechanics.

My experience is the plugs( NGK's in Europe) last only for 60k mls without problems at these engines. And the coil packs(Delphi ones) will last for max 110k mls. After that, they start getting misfiring. You will see the brown spark traces on the white part of the coil packs when they are bad. Thanks for this footage. Keep up the good work.

Great video, I just finished a complete service on my X5 F15 not to include the spark plugs which I’ll be doing soon, I like how you explained the process. Something that I did on mine that made a huge difference and I would highly recommend is do the Liqui Molly Cera Tec engine treatment. The famous click-click-click BMW engine noise was reduced by about 80% I can now hardly hear it when I start up my engine cold.

Had the same problem with my F10 535i M Sport beauty, multiple misfires on cylinder 2, 4 & 6 but all the time was cylinder 4. Just install brand new Bosh spark plugs and cleaned the coils one by one. Coils 2 & 6 looked burned with carbon all around inside and outside the coils. But all spark plugs looked burned and old and looked original BMW Bosh as if the previous owner never changed them. Well installed everything drove for a test drive. Slapped the Sport mode and hit the gas! Woohoo this bad boy was growling like a beast! I had full power what a huge difference. No more misfires! But i will change the coils as i dont trust them from how they looked. My MAF sensor looked clean and ok but also sprayed som le cleaner on it just in case. What i did notice that i dont like after in replace the plugs is the i begin gearing a tick tock like one of the valves was clicking. Made it sound more like a diesel but the Valve Cover really needs replacing as it leaking oil which equals some sort of vacume leak and when i accelerate i hear some kind of whistle, seems the CCV is bad which is more of a priority to replace the valve cover all together! Also need to replace : The Serpentine belt + tensioner+ pulley. Replace Differential oil with new gasket. Replace the windshield cowl assembly. Replace the blower's mesh that's under the Cowl. Replace front top window trim and rear window trim. Flush old oil and do a full oil tune up using Liqui Moly's Moligen (green oil) Bleed the breaks with fresh new Dot 4 fliud And finally, that's a maybe... change transmission oil as i think its making my car jerk a bit when slowing down as it feels the car hits the breaks suddenly by itself, very damn annoying!!!

Di-electric grease is supposed to be applied to the ceramic stalk of the spark plugs, not the boot itself. The grease will interfere with conducting if it gets on the metal tips of the spark plug. To be safe and have better longevity, take out the plugs, clean the metal tips, and clean the inner metal parts of the coils, then re-apply the grease on the ceramic stalks of the plugs only.

Hi I have the same car same miles and the same problem. I did the same you did but I change all the spark plugs and coils. I notice the air mass sensor was not connected right I just pull the cable and just come out which is no normal. So I’m assuming that was the problem I put the scanner and this time say air mass sensor them I left it running for good 5 minutes and turn the car off and I clear the code and plug it back and start the car again then I run the scanner and the engine run better and I don’t have check engine no more also the scanner say no codes this time. I hope this work for me thank you

I had a P305 misfire on my 2011 535xi. The car has 119K on it and never had the plugs or the coils replaced, so I replaced just the coil on #5 and no difference, so I decided to change all plugs and all coils. Now I had a smoother misfire........Now running like shit and multiple random misfires etc. I was leaning toward injectors, but hey this is definitely an easy try. Thanks for posting. I will report back in after I try it tomorrow morning.

if you stick a penny in 3 of the tabs on the breather hose then use a screwdriver to wedge the bottom tab you can pull the breather hose out pretty easy. if its stuck just wedge a penny in and twist and it pushes free. the pennies dont fall out either from all of the times i done it that way, and wont break the clips when they get brittle.

Started the car and it ran smoother, but back to my original issue of a P305 code and since I replaced all plugs and coils I would think it is the injector at this point. It did give me the MAF code, but also the IAT sensor code?

Did it stay running smooth or did it start misfiring again eventually? I have same symptoms but eventually the trims get skewed. High positive trims and rich AFR. Maf unplugged it runs good wot and cruising. But negative trims at idle. My theory is it's a bad injector(s). #1 plug smelled like E50. With maf connected it's getting more fuel than it expects, which causes misfire, which then commands more fuel, still just as lean so then throws more fuel at it...until the garage smells like fuel. The DME injects more fuel for that one cylinder until it's tripping over itself. With maf disconnected it runs great because it's not increasingly adding fuel. And idle it is pulling fuel. Which it would do if an injector is squirting too much in. Also it's able to stay closer to 14.7:1. Again, MAF plugged in it was commanding more (+trims) but actually running rich. Anyways, that's my theory.

Fixed, So I did the spark plugs and the same problem same codes like in the video and order the fuel injectors and decoupling and that fixed the problem, please note that since the injectors were bad they were leaking gas into the oil pan, when opening the oil cap from the engine an strong odor of gas, and with the engine running crazy white smoke, so after I change the oil and filter all the smoke went away, so hopefully this will help someone having the same problems.

Hey! I have a question for you. I have a 2007 bmw e90 335i (06/07 build date) and both of my key fobs stopped working. I have don’t have comfort access. My central locking system still works perfectly fine when I use the physical key out of the fob or the lock button in the center of the dash. I replaced fuse #57 for a 20 amp and still no luck. I also have tried charging the keys by taking a long drive with no results. If you have any knowledge of this issue I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you so much in advance!
