Glad you enjoyed it Sun Kissed Krissy, yes you must visit Vlore and Albania, you won't be disappointed! We will say that the public transport is a little harder to navigate than other European countries, but that adds to the sense of adventure!

Thanks! We are quite proud of this thumbnail! Albania is a really nice country with some amazing beaches. It is a little harder to get around than other European countries, but that adds to the adventure.
That is so cool that the driver offered to give you a ride with the help of paying for the Petro. It’s always need to talk to the locals he get a good sense of the country and culture

For sure! We were a little skeptical at first, given that he was also waiting for the bus, but we put our concerns aside and literally went along for the ride! We experienced nothing but kindness and hospitality from Albanians.
happy that you liked my birthtown. I am from Vlora and I did not know about the sofra e lakrorit, I will visit that place when I will be back. Actually Vlora is very busy between the 2nd half of july and August, rest of the year is very peacuful there. This is why I am going to Vlora in September!

It was awesome! Yes, you must trySofra e Lakrorit, the owner was lovely and the food was great! Good move visiting outside the peak season. We were there in late May and it was pretty quiet, but still great beach weather.
Thanks for showing us Albania guys, I’ve been surprised how different the beaches/coastal towns appear to be from Croatia, when it’s not much farther south than Dubrovnik. I thought you were never going to get chance to eat your share of the food Jay!! 😂

🤣🤣 I didn't think I was going to get any either! It was agony just recording Jon eat and have to wait for Jon to finish! Yes you are right, the beaches do have a different feel to them than Croatia. Another thing that we didn't mention in the video was that there is a lot more litter on beaches than in Croatia, which is a little off putting. The best beaches though are still to come, just wait until next week when we show you Himare, this place was amazing!

Hi Caio, thanks for watching! We would have happily stayed in Vlore for a week and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants, beaches and other sights to explore. A month might be a little long though if you are just sightseeing, however if you are a digital nomad then we think it is a good base to stay and cheaper than Tirana (food and accommodation).

😂. Thanks FreeRadical1! The cost of living is very low relative to other European countries. We were staying in very new and comfortable accommodation for around 30EUR/US$ and meals would cost less than 20EUR/US$ for the two of us. The cherries were the most amazing at 1 30EUR/US$ a kilo (2 pounds)!

The Albanian water has no fluoride. It is great and drinkable. Locals waste their money buying bottle water in plastic bottles getting micro plastics and hormones in their bodies.

The bedè (sp?) may also be a function of the Muslim community. Ask around a find out.
@roshiroshi1240
Жыл бұрын
No no nothing to do with that. It's only because of the Italian influence. Bidet was invented in France but they don't use it at all. It's only widely used in Italy and Albania.
@BucketListTravellers
Жыл бұрын
Thanks for clarifying Roshi Roshi. Yes that was our suspicion too. We always thought that bidets were French but found it strange that we only came across them in both Italy and Albania!
@BucketListTravellers
Жыл бұрын
There might be a muslim angle to it in other countries. In Malyasia, hoses that function as a bidet are the norm. However it may just be a co-incidence that hoses are used in a Muslim country. Hoses are common throughout SE Asia.
@roshiroshi1240
Жыл бұрын
@@BucketListTravellers I don't know what are they used for in muslim countries, but in Albania { I've never seen one in Tirana } they might be used just to wash the WC. I'm sure you thought those hoses are for the same reason as the bidet, but they are not. They might be used to fill some buckets or other things 🤔. I'm just guessing, because I'm sure they can't be used like a bidet. Not in Albania at least 😂

Do many businesses etc in Vlorë accept / operate in Bitcoin or Monero or Tether etc? That is definitely a question on many traveler’s minds, especially if one is considering another location for a pension residence visa etc. Might be something you will want to work into your presentations(?). Anyway, I LOVE❤ you guys and the way you work together and present. BTW, do you accept donations in Monero (cryptocurrency) or other cryptos?
@BucketListTravellers
Жыл бұрын
Hi FreeRadical1, this is something we didn't observe when in Vlore. It is a good tip to keep in mind, so we will pay closer attention to the use of crypto in various locations. Central America was increasingly using crypto for payments when we were there and El Salvador in particular has bitcoin as official currency now! We don't currently have anything set up for accepting crypto at this stage, thanks for asking though! Do you have any suggestions for platforms we could use? We've only got paypal at this stage (www.paypal.com/paypalme/bucketlisttravellers).

Bidets are popular because of Muslim ethnicity
@BucketListTravellers
Жыл бұрын
Ahh, that makes sense! After being in Italy recently and noticing it was very widespread there, we assumed it was due to the Italian influence. Bidets are very common in Malaysia too, also a predominantly Muslim country.
