@@soulassasin001 funny how you mentioned that because I no longer vote and I also work in a Ministry which means that I do have an idea of what the figures in certain areas look like while knowing the exact figures in other areas. However, you don't need to answer because I was going to dismantle your entire argument reguardless.

@@TRiniLukey the amount of energy you put into coming up with that post could've been used for better things.
Ev's in Trinidad can work because of the small landmass and cheap electricity rates, the only caveat right now is the poor public charging infrastructure and the high cost of Ev's. If your bypass those two hurdles the only other caveat is in the future if more people get EVs and they put a greater strain on the grid causing the govt to increase taxation on their purchase and use to curb demand which is being seen in developed countries with rules onwhen you can charge and the removal of ev purchase incentives and free charging.
I pay 500 every 2 months, live just outside Sangre Grande and I work Port of Spain 5 days a week. Nissan leaf 42kw battery.

Actually, EVs does make sense in OECS states. The price of gasoline is astronomical compared to the energy rates. $6-7US per gallon of gasoline is wayy more expensive than our energy rate of 0.45US per KWH. But compared to Trinidad, it we are indeed a lot worse off. Transportation in OECS countries is JUST expensive 🥲🥲🥲
I'm very glad that you did the cost comparison at the end so that Trinis can see how cheap their electricity costs are compared to the rest of the Caribbean. For what it's worth the cost of fuel at the pumps in many of the islands is a lot higher than in Trinidad as well, so relative to that cost, going electric might still have advantages.

Hmmm... that low cost rate for electricity in T&T has more to do with our natural resources, ie natural gas, than just being a manufacturing country. A matter of fact, one of the major reason why we became a manufacturing country was because of the hydrocarbons we're blessed with.

Can we have a true picture without fracturing how much fuel was used to charge the vehicle for each session?

All day, every day. Driving an electric vehicle just means you have to plan your drive based on your capacity. If your vehicle says you can go from point to pos and back 3 times, only do it twice.

Traffic is a blessing to EVs. You get better range after you recharge. But the one time you mash, that's the end of the range.
This is an accurate video but left out one very significant possibility. Solar panels. If you have access to solar power then your EV can run for free. Literally the sun can take you to work
We need tiny cars
Driving slow in traffic in with AC using power screens and computers running still uses your power which means you lose range. Saw that myself during solar eclipse all the tesla cars ran out of range crawling in 5-10mph traffic for 2hrs using power for lights and heat.

This is true, once the Ac comes on the range drops by 10km, if you are not driving in Eco, the range also drops by 10km. If you do both, that's 20km and continues to drop as the trip continues. I just don't use the Ac to make it to work and back with enough charge so I can't keep my charging time to 7. 5 hours max.

You some how focused me to sub and I don't own a car, nor is even near to get one. CNG- nothing. The MG ZS variant sold in T&T is only 51kwhr. The long range 71Kwhr is not for sale in T&T market. The MG range for 51Kwhr battery is 320kms.

Massy MG ZSEV is the SR nor the LR (long range) so we only get 320km. And 300 with AC

If the battery fails how long would take to replace , after warrenty and battery fails it's the cost of a foreign used car so mmmm

Not 100% accurate, drove an evoque ev and EQC, you could make it from south to grand Bazaar and back, when we reach south it was on 24%, the maths your using also isn't accurate because by now we know most ev claim and actual miles are different, you would have to compare it with fast charging, on the machine in Couva it came up to 150ttd to fast charge to go 100km, if your charging at home that's where the benefits comes in, but it's too slow for me, sometimes that car gotta charge for over a day to get 90%, and when all is said and done, t&tec would start to charge different, it's a hit and miss, then tires, you can't put any tires on an EV because the range would be affected, it's alot to take in, I should one day do ev,CNG,diesel,hybrid and gas run from POS to Point for people to see what's up, and a overall cost after 100k and calculate battery degradation
EV sales are declining in the developed countries due to their high cost and maintenance and gross inconvenience, so those charging figures are irrelevant. They also chew up tyres because of their incredible weight and cause fires that are extremely difficult to put out. Countries like those in the Caribbean including Trinidad and Tobago are unlikely to be able to afford the infrastructure required for cars that won't sell because no one will be able to afford them anyway. What people save at the pump will be spent on expensive repairs, extremely poor resale value and ridiculously long charging times - minutes to fill your tank with petrol - HOURS to charge (including waiting times for public chargers).
Electric cars does do more harm than good because of the lithium-ion Co2 batteries could explode and it sort of bad for the environment. Very similar to gasoline. Hydrogen cars are safe for the environment, greener, H2O but it is very minimum. Better for Eco System. Check them out, do research.
Hell no
