Lael is amazing - personality plus, upbeat, fun, smart, tenacious, and approachable. I have been a big fan of her's and recently had the opportunity to have lunch with her while visting in AZ just after she crushed it in her 350 mile race in AK. Her accomplishments are unparelled and so inspiring. All the best with your ride around the world. :)

Thanks for sharing video, met her last year my place on the gdmbr, super sweet! Oddly i randomly met kait boyle few weeks ago riding colorado mountains town, spoke to briefly being trail angel, kait was super cool also, said i had met Lael last year, humble and modestly kait said friends with Lael, went home googled name and sure enough. I just give water out, meet remarkable endurance athletes.

Can't wait for Lael to reach Australia, coming through my back yard so will definately ride with her for a section! Thanks Jonny for doing this looking forward to many more on the Ultra theme!

Rarely we see attempt round the world at all, but very common to see everyone having an opinion how it should be done. I'm tracking Lael's trip on Rapha's website every day and would be very happy to meet her in person in Europe. Pushing limits like this excites me far more than day crit racing.

I met her on gdmbr last year my property colorado, I'm trail angel water at road for riders, I dot. She was super sweet, huge smile, great personality for the few minutes and off she went, not before I got picture with, must have been near midnight.

A very tall order but if anyone can do it then Lael Wilcox is the person she knows about her breathing issues and hopefully she does not run into those poor conditions and she knows riding 169 miles.plus each day is gonna be really tough and through adverse conditions so planning and timing the route will be critical my prayers she has an amazing journey she is tough enough to meet this ride head on and no bad if it goes .bad because trying it is what matters it's a great adventure for sure

It seems kind of contrived when you are flying from Europe to Australia and then flying to Alaska. I do appreciate that she will be doing it unsupported and at the end of the day it is a lot of miles to ride a bit. Good luck and stay safe.

It's worth understanding the rules set for an attempt like this. It requires flight, or transport, typically north to south and north again to get the east to west land masses. There is a minimum distance, travelling either east to west or west to east, they must cover to ratify their attempt.
