As a producer, I wondered who did his mixing and mastering, and lo and behold, lol. I think that Best Rapper Ever was a mixing masterpiece and his most impressively creative song yet. The video and the music production in that song was incredible for independent artists. In hopes of being helpful, I agree with Ernest here, I think Tom's voice in the hooks are way overprocessed, mostly over compressed with weird EQing. Now, I realize that may be a workaround in some regard, since only you have the raw audio and I sympathize if that's the case. I think his hooks could also benefit from Nova singing a counter melody or a repeating phrase at times. Just a different texture may add that extra dimension. For this song, however, I think your mixing touches really made the hook. You created great spatial elements around his singing that complemented the melody and the feel perfectly. I think this is his best hook yet and the most polished and fun one he's done. Great work. Thanks for commenting!!

What I’ve noticed about Toms hooks is they’re something that has to grow on you. I’m HOG all day long but a good number of his hooks I dont like them first time I hear them. But by the 4th, 5th, 6th time I hear it the chorus is dug into my head and my favorite part of the song.

I Hate Hip Hop was the first TM I digested and I liked it from the jump, I explored more because of it. Sober, Bad News, The Music Industry, and Cancelled are top shelf hooks. I understand why his choruses get criticized, but they're unique so I give Tom a wide lane because what he lacks in polish he makes up for in relevant content and adaptability to current events. I've never seen an musical artist write, produce, and put out weekly videos about current events in real time. Endless respect for Tom and Nova.

I love Tom.... on my end of the year Spotify breakdown I was in his top 2% of listeners.... so I am a huge fan.... With that said, toms hook game is weak. They still add a lot to the songs as they summarize and clarify the message of the song most times, but they are not the best part of his game at all.

Hell yah man. I absolutely love this channel. I'm down with people who can correct themselves, want to keep learning and improve. I'm not a huge rap follower but I dabble here and there. I listen to what Tom says because it gets people talking. I spent most of the day yesterday talking with people on one of his Facebook pages. A Christian kid came on and said just what you were thinking. I was one of the first to be able to reply to him so instead of making fun of the guy, I started a discussion. Probably went on for a good 7 or 8 hours till it died off. There were people who disagreed, but it was for the most part, pretty civil. I started watching your channel about a year or so ago. You've got a level head on your shoulders. Keep up the great work kid. You're going places. *Edit* I think Tom was totally talking directly to you. I don't think he's the type to pay time and attention to negativity. If he's going to pay attention to reactions to his work, he's going to watch smart people. He seen it man. I always thought the same thing about the hooks. Like I said, don't follow rap so listening to Tom's past stuff compared to this? Pft, night and day man. This track was all around, a better product. He listened, took constructive criticism and improved his work. That's the way I conduct myself in life and always will.

Mac made a pretty vague comment on Twitter or something, Tom assumed Mac was referring to him, and from there tracks were made...
