    The STI 2011 is a wonderful competition gun. It looks odd without the magwell which I noticed was on the table. The Navy SEALS even adopted them at one time. I've had a Bob Dawson STI Edge since 2006 or 2007 and ran about 100,000 rounds through it before I moved to where it's a long drive to a USPSA match. Mine is in .40; the standard caliber for the USPSA Limited class. People also shoot it in Limited 10 simply by not loading more than 10 rounds in each mag. The biggest "problem" I've had was that at around 50,000 rounds the magazine springs wore out. Hard to blame the gun for that! They're a consumable. A new set of Arredondo springs made them better than new.

    As far as custom and competition guns go, stacatto is mediocre at best. It's basically a high end production gone and nothing particularly great about it. The originators of the 2011 design were Sandy Strayer and Virgil Tripp. When they parted ways, Tripp built 2011s as STI, which was later sold multiple times and eventually became Stacotto. They built decent guns for a while and eventually went to crap. Had so many broken comps, barrels, and various other stuff, they got out of the competition market and went for the tacticool shooters. Sandy Strayer started a separate company called Infinity Firearms. If you want to check out some high end 2011s, that's the place to go. Not Stacatto.

    I was unfamiliar with the 2011 and I’m into airsoft. I took one look at the pistol and thought wow look it’s a 5.1 hi capa!! I had no idea it was based off a real gun. Thought it was unique to airsoft. Much like the real steel counterpart, the airsoft version of the 2011 is one of the most popular pistols out there. See it on every field, awesome design.

    I do a ton of dry fire and thought of buying an airsoft for drills. The reviews show lots of flaws and breakages. Some of the nicer ones cost about the same as a real pistol which seems nuts. Do you have issues with your airsoft? . They have a CZ75 airsoft.

  • @C_mat6

    @C_mat6

    2 ай бұрын

    @@kagyu1 generally speaking, yes, breakages can be a serious problem. Many brands make their guns out of cheap crap materials to maximize profit margins which decreases reliability, however, there are some really good fund I would recommend for you that are inexpensive and good for dry fire or practice. First off, you will only want GBB (gas blowback) airsoft guns because they are more realistic than electric guns. For these I recommend two top brands, Tokyo Marui, and Krytac. Tokyo Marui is a Japanese brand renowned for their quality hi capa pistol (based off a 1911 high capacity). That I recommend the most, a stock one can be about $100 and will last a long time as long as it is cared for. Next, Krytac. I don’t believe they have any pistols but Krytac is owned by the real gun manufacturer Kriss, so their GBB Kriss Vector is the most realistic airsoft representation you will get of the Vector. It costs around $400 but is very good quality. Lastly I recommend the Dan Wesson 715. These are very typically crapped on in the community but mine seems to be virtually indestructible. I’ve dropped it several times, and clean it very rarely but it continues to run very reliably with its full steel construction. These cost $114 to $150 depending on length. Home this helps, if you want I can send you some links to some quality airsoft guns that won’t destroy your wallet cause sometimes it matters what vendor you buy it from. Evike is a very popular airsoft vendor but typically sell things overpriced and broken, so buy from other places if possible!

  • @C_mat6

    @C_mat6

    2 ай бұрын

    @@kagyu1 btw, another note, if you’re looking for a CZ75, I believe the brand Marushin has one. I’ve never seen one so I can’t speak for their quality but generally Japanese airsoft guns are very reliable, the only problem being they are sometimes overpriced depending on brand, and also are not legally allowed to have a full metal construction unlike American airsoft brands

    I live less than 20 min from where they make Staccato (formerly STI), and I can say the regional group hypnosis over these pistols is astounding.... while they are good pistols, they are nowhere near worth the insane, absurd, mind-boggling, jaw dropping prices. $3000 for a plastic pistol is stupid, in any universe, in any timeline, in any reality. If I were to even consider dropping two G's on a 1911, it wouldn't be a Staccato. In fact, I would much rather prefer an older, real STI all metal 1911. Hey, each to his own, but no gun in history deserves the ridiculously overrated hype the Staccato gets.
