IN THIS VLOG:
After a very easy day hitchhiking from Narkanda to the Jibhi it's time to explore this beautiful little place in Himachal Pradesh in the North of India. JIBHI blew us away. We walked up the hill behind our guesthouse and we didn't have to walk far before we were exposed to breathtaking views and stunning nature. After six weeks of travelling around India this was the absolute MOST BEAUTIFUL place that we'd seen so far.

Yeah it's a very picturesque little place. It's getting pretty touristy though and they were building lots of guesthouses. The season hadn't really started yet when we were there so they were mostly empty which was nice for us. It is definitely an up and coming place. Thanks a million for watching 😊🙏

What you need to start playing Kho Kho: As much open space as you can find (traditionally 27 meters by 15 meters)Two poles or sticks, these are to go at either end of the pitch and should be about shoulder height on your childString or chalk (for marking out the perimeters of the play area)Ideally, 12 children (but any number above six is fine) Kho Kho game rules: Mark out the play area with chalk or string. Then draw a line down the middle, cutting the field in half length-ways. Put a pole, stick or sweater at each end of the central dividing line.Split the Kho Kho players into two equal teams, and then allocate one team as the chasers and one team as the defenders (let them know they’ll get to swap roles after seven minutes).Chasers need to line up on the line down the middle, facing in alternate directions. They can only ‘chase’ on the side of the pitch they are facing and can only chase one at a time (see image one). The defenders enter the field in groups of three and need to avoid being tagged by a chaser - they can run anywhere on the field, but they’re out if they get tagged. The chaser at the pole starts and must try to tag one of the defenders on their side of the pitch, if a defender crosses the line to the other side, the chaser must tap the back of one of his teammates, who is sitting facing the other direction, and shout “Kho!” (See image three). The teammate must then try to tag the defender and the standing chaser sits in the team mates place so only one chaser is chasing.Chasers can swap with a teammate every time the defender moves into the opposite side of the pitch or the chaser can run round one of the poles to get to the other side of the pitch. The aim for chasers is to tag-out the defenders the fastest. Whichever team gets the defenders out the quickest wins. What’s so great about playing Kho Kho? This game is not only very physical, with lots of running, diving and squatting; it’s also brilliant for encouraging teamwork. Kids have to watch carefully, work together, and learn how to recognise when a teammate should take over the pursuit. They also have to decide quickly which is the right player to take over, so there’s an element of strategy involved. Mastering how to play Kho Kho is a real workout for body and mind. The History of Kho Kho Why not add a bit of drama and mystery when telling your kid about Kho Kho? The truth is, nobody knows exactly where and how Kho Kho was born, but it’s believed to have evolved in the state of Maharashtra, where it was played on chariots, called Rath. In its ancient form, the game was known as Rathera. It gradually became a much loved game for kids, keeping them entertained for centuries, some game rules were eventually formalised in the early 1900s, and in 1960 the first national Kho Kho Championship took place in Andhra Pradesh state. However, over the years, with modern games and different sorts of childhood activities taking over, it’s faded away. It’s time we started hearing shouts of “Kho!” all around the world.

Wow that was very thorough! Thanks a lot for that. We can definitely see that it's good exercise for the kids and games where kids get to practice team work are great. Interesting that no one really knows where the game comes from. Adds a bit of Mystery to it. Thanks a lot for explaining! 🙏

Where I have visit regularly; Like few of them are Chail, Chindi, Jibhi(You are already there), Janjehli (Famous for it's Shikari Devi(3400 meters) temple and other treks and which is near to Jibhi ). There are so many other places where you can visit in Himachal. Untouched and Serene. Keep exploring, you will find more. :)

Namaste from Himachal guys, i grew up in shimla, loved your videos and content... One thing is sure about India it's quite diverse land culturally and nature wise also... Himachal is dev bhumi means lands of God's and the red flags you find in local jungles that u r not sure and you asked what is it? It's village goddess or diety where local offers their first harvested crops and a prayer spot of that diety and the palanquin you showed people are going along with it with drums are actually that diety on trip and people are traveling with that diety along with their shamans... God or diety adress people and speak through these samans, in some interior areas of Himachal occult and black magic is still prevelant......people of Himachal are nice, cooperative and naive compared to rest of India . you are exploring Himachal in greater depths....... Good luck guys

@@TimezoneJunkies Thanks for your kind words, people of Himachal still follow old tradition and rituals whereas it is missing in rest parts of India due to modernization, when I was child and I visit my native place and sometime I visit to these oracles or samans I remember we use to take some soil or flower from our home and go to them, they touch that soil or flower and go in to trance state and diety come in to their bodies and speaks about our questions, it was scary and surprising because I used to think it's superstitious of some kind but I could not wrap my head around certain things because they were real thing happened with us they describe.... There was lady before us she was pregnant and she asked Oracle will it be a son or daughter, the oracle said I am seeing blood have you done abortion before, she said yes, the oracle said in anger you have committed a wrong deed but said your third child will be son but never repeat what u have done or otherwise Conquences are for you to bear for lifetime... Then oracle was again normal not in trance Next was our turn she touched the flower my aunt asked about her cattle are not ok whats the problem.. First oracle was smiling and she saw me and shook my chin after few minutes she again went in to trance and said I am going towards your home she described our homes and said there is lovely lemon tree and banana in way and I was shocked lemon tree was cut down a couple of years ago but she was describing a past picture and she mummered, I need to go to your home personally there is something in your home your ancestors had placed, there is indeed some problem and if you want to sort it your whole village should come then I will go with you... I have studied in modern society and I never took these god as real thing I believed its superstition but that day I made up my mind there are certain things which are true but how I still could not figure out....its I think 15 years back time now things are changing even in native places these oracles are now reducing and on verge on extinction..

They were playing kho-kho game .Kho kho is a popular tag and ancient sport from India. It is played by teams of 12 nominated players out of fifteen, of which nine enter the field who sit on their knees (chasing team), and 3 extra (defending team) who try to avoid being touched by members of the opposing team. It is one of the two most popular traditional tag games in the Indian subcontinent, the other being Kabaddi.[1] Apart from the Indian subcontinent, it is also played by the Indian community in South Africa.[2] Kho-kho, traditional Indian sport, a form of tag, that is one of the oldest forms of outdoor sport, dating back to prehistoric India.

I understood that and honestly we don't have problems with Islamism in Sweden, not as it is portrayed in media. It's important to understand that our governments and media want us to feel fear. That's why there's never any positive news. No one imposes islam on Swedish people. We have freedom of religion is Sweden and the right to practice. A lot of extreme Christian groups in the world are trying to impose Christianity on people and they've done it for thousands of years and are still doing it. They knock on your door and go to poor villages and promise to improve your village if you become a Christian. I've never heard or seen Muslim people do this. Remember that ISIS are a tiny percent of all Muslim people.

I think many foreigners travel in India when it's cold in the mountains and that's why they don't go there 😊

We really wanted to but we were in this area of India in April and it probably wasn't open or it would have been to cold for us. We don't travel with very warm clothes. However, we'd love to visit that part of India next summer. Hope you enjoyed the video. 🙏😀
