I don't know if you mentioned or not. But things like Catacombs 4 will be reduced to Catacombs 3 for finding Andraiel. Durance of Hate 2 down from 3 for Mephisto. And so on, for certain bosses / activities. For convenience's sake.

@@Entrepreneurr bad the point of runes was end game and you have to kill fast many enemies to increase drop rate of gems and runes, to make it very easy to get runes just recks the game,,,, better off to just get plugy and hero editor then make a god cracked char for pod has editted things, cracked things, hacked things, made you one click anything with even the bad skills so any nub and his or her dog can go hog wild without thought without skill, fyi theres a easy way to tell whats dropped its called color coded for a reason!!!! go on change things to be green (color of set, or gold unique, or even yellow rare will kick yourself when you forget that epic rare or rare unique that has say only three to 6 chances of being seen by your char in all the diablo 2 lod lifetime of that char) really a thing for people still have yet to find everything to be done in diablo one let alone 2 let alone the lod expansion for the 2nd and the 3rd has even less easter eggs but still yet to find em all. heck the rune words have yet to be completed and no one has figured out the blizznet gem yet and the secret or should i say the secrets it holds, no one has found all the cube transmogs yet........ but ok think the one person modding hacking and cracking a game thats yet to be finished but dont claim its the best for diabla the real game one two or three even the not reconized hellfire all beat the path of diablo.... one look and i see a chimp could click all day on path of diablo one click bullshit kills everything,,,,,,,,,, try playing legit dude where real skill is needed stupid rushing idiots thinking there top shit when cant even create a single good player hahaha, i would have stocked up on your chars ear it seems hahaha oh to see my stash of my online char again lost track of the pvp i done.

Glad you liked it. One thing I'd like to say is that the difficulty being easier in NM is a result of buffing a lot of bad skills for end game so they are sometimes accidentally stronger in the leveling phase. Because in terms of monster's damage/life/resist everything is still the same as the original game so it feels easier because players have more damage output. And this is something I'm always happy to tone down each season as needed. We update the mod (large patches) about 4 times a year and most of the balance changes comes from the community through feedback tickets on our website. Thanks to Dbrunski for checking it out and hope everyone has fun!

GreenDudeHC sir, is there any chance a phys dmg converted to Magic AoE javelin skill can be added for the javazon? My java has infinity and cannot solo tier 3; too many light immunes that infinity does not break- something that synergizes light fury but idk maybe that’d be too gg; or better yet how about a sigil that converts either some lightning strike damage to magic?? Like the frenzy sigil

Great work sir, are some of the features inspired by PoE?

I remember players intentionally crashing all the servers on PoD with a glitch. Greendude said PoD had to permanently shut down until Median XL devs reached out and helped fix it. So for people who say 'X' mod is better than 'Y' mod you're wrong because they're both good games and I'm happy both mods are apart of the D2 community.

DEFINITELY a labor of love! Have you looked into Grim Dawn's Reign of Terror mod at all? They rebuilt the entirety of D2 in the Grim Dawn engine, with updated graphics and such. I've been hooked. 😬

Great review dude! I think once you play a bit more the enigma nerf will make more sense to you. Greendude made sure to give every char a skill that improves its movement. Necro & Druid have their version pf a cooldown teleport, and amazon has a skill to increase runspeed for a short time. Paladin got a teleport like skill thats somewhat similar to Dragon flight. There is a low level runeword changed that gives you charges of teleport if needed. And just generally theres much less need to have a 0% cooldown teleport in PoD. With p8 drops farming big areas with lots of monsters becomes much more viable than the same old tele-ing to Meph/Andy/or other bosses. Maps will also drop great loot without the need for tele. All of this benefits the variety of viable options for the armor slot. In vanilla Enigma is the best choice for almost all chars, in PoD you have much more roommfor different choices.

This does makes really good sense.

for me the weird item changes are: 1-chaos claws got ww removed, why remove ww sin, it was one of the most fun sin build. 2- soul drainers on hit cast weaken got removed for charges of weaken instead, making it much less useful, even though the item is not very played to begin with

Oooooh! The strength of runewords is one of the things that put me off from playing Diablo 2 really seriously, so I totally agree with making uniques better. I'm not sure how I feel about making nightmare and hell easier (I kind of think it should be even harder), but if there's enough other endgame content I guess that's fine. This sounds like something I could get into!

I got my hands on a nice 3 socket G Face on HC today. Maybe a Uber Trist/Diablo helm. Tomorrow I am going to make a Death in an eth Colossus Sword. Yesterday, during my first Tier 4 map run, a 5%LL BK ring dropped. I kept it clean and traded that for a Lo + Zod. I ended up rolling a 385% EBOTD War Pike + 30 AR Fortitude. It was nice to respec my Barb with some powerful gear. The IK set I was using before that respec was nice because the IK armor was 4 socket. I mow through HC. Being that it's my first season on PoD, it blows vanilla D2 out of the water. Now that I'm used to the game, I want to think of a crazy build for next season. If anyone wants to buy my old IK set, I will sell it all for 1 HR.

Got to admit you should of did the end game content before the review, pod is more focus'd on end game than the initial few hours it takes to run through to hell. Maps + clone + ubers are a big end game upgrade. Plus getting good corrupts means lots of unique can become best in slot rather than everything just been runewords.

I love the original D2+LoD. I've seen this mod, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm currently playing the Median XL Sigma mod, and it's been really good. I'm currently running a couple of characters into the late game. I'd highly recommend it.

Frank A what’s the big difference/ are the differences to PoD?

Note about Enigma: Although the teleport is nerfed, it is actually still one of the BiS armors for multiple classes still. As to CTA, although I miss it too, it was unfair. In PoD it is standard to run an ES sorc, which are already overpowered. Now imagine them getting a 300life and mana buff. It was just too strong and also adds value to Barbarians. I know a lot of things with 6 sockets seem overpowered, with that said you haven't tried mapping or the new Ubers. You will see how necessary they are.

Actually, CTA was nerfed way before ES sorcs became meta. CTA was nerfed because, like Db mentions, as it was solely the only weapon swap item worth ever having and it was too powerful. Even now, most classes that don't have an alternative (most don't still, sadly) will end up getting a CTA as one of the later upgrades. It's just not as big of a priority anymore, whereas in vanilla you rush it quite soon as it's just so insanely strong.

@@Karvarousku Oh totally, I just pulled that example out of my ass. It essentially just polished any classes weaknesses. I just used ES as an example because old CTA could easily turn un under geared mediocre ES sorc into one with 3k mana. Point is I feel you.

Havent played D2 in like 15 years, just redownloaded it, I have no idea what any of this is.

Honestly, if you didn't play the endgame content then you're really missing out on the full POD experience. Maps are a perfect addition to the game, and have decent enough variety in themselves (different tiers with different layouts and tilesets). I think the players 8 drops and orbs of corruption (in addition to QOL improvements) are really what make the game that much better than vanilla. It is still a grind for high runes, but not to the point where its maddening. Its rewarding enough that you can keep playing, and hold on to decent gear to make new characters. Some might think that it would make grinding too easy, and endgame progression too fast, but it doesn't. The good thing is, even beginners will build up enough orbs of corruption to use as an early currency. With those orbs, they can buy cheap but strong gear that endgame players would normally discard. Endgame players can continue to grind for runes and uniques. Even though some uniques are underpowered, the orbs make them possible BIS gear with POD. Now many players have a chance to turn trash uniques into BIS gear. The rarity and corruption rarity make the whole process very rewarding. Also, just wanted to mention that even items like 6os WF are not really overpowered. Bowazons are very weak in P8 maps, and a 6os WF is whats needed to keep up with fully geared characters in maps. For solo mapping, Faith GMB is still best in slot.

Everytime I try to log into battle-net on PoD, I get the error message c00005. Already tried fixing it with Glide, D2vidtest, PED settings... how can I fix this? Also my menu seems to be broken, some buttons have no text on them at all, while some are obviously bugged. For instance, one of the main menu buttons (where SP and MP are) just says "Chance to ressurect?"

when I found a melee splash jewel, I was sold.

I think enigma should have regenerating teleport charges, so you can teleport like 8 times in a row then you need to wait x seconds per charge to regen.

My favorite Diablo 2 mod was Hell Unleashed, It was however balanced heavily for Mullti player, so it ended up being too hard for me and I had to stop at normal Mephisto or a little after since I play solo. There was a "Solo' edition on the website but it was still too hard and it was not possible for me with the builds I tried to get to act 4. Been a few years since I really played much of any mod, just have plugY installed is all.

orbs of corruption is not safe, 25% no change, 25% chance to get random socket amount up to max for the item type, 25% to get any of the other random modifiers and the last 25% turns the item into a garbage rare item. So getting a 6 socket windforce is super rare and the power lvl is justified.

How is there even a controversy about bots being good or bad? I thought it was obviously bad. I'm glad PoD found a way to get rid of them.

Will there be any changes to the PVP ? like maybe adding arenas and rating and stuff ?

Once you get very powerful and very well geared, all early content becomes pretty easy, however the only way to beat the endgame Tier Maps, Ubers and Clone, is to be this powerful. Overall the game gets a 9/10 total.

I started playing diablo 2 past month on Plugy because for some reason my internet provider isn't allowed to connect to battle.net. This is a godsend mod, I'm gonna go to that website and start my journey in Path of Diablo.

If I ever play online d2 its for sure gonna be PoD

Is there a reason why I wouldn’t have seen 4socketed shield by mid nightmare yet on single player using plugy?

This looks really good, I'll have to give it a try. Median XL was fun at first but it changes things too much.

How do you move items around so quickly?

Can you reset stats and skill points as much as you want like PlugY? Or is it like vanilla where you are just stuck with stats forever once you put them there?

well after doin den of evil on every diff, u get a free reset from Akara, to be used 1 time on Normal, Nightmare, Hell, after that u can farm essence from the final act bosses to make a token, that resets your stats + skills, so its never permed, you can allways reset it

I feel like it would not even be worth to make an enigma, if there is a cool downs on it. I mean, I think I would prefer having a second weapon with tele charge instead. It would be way easier to get and you would not have a cool down. Personnaly, I would just have made it harder to make enigma instead of changing it.

median xl is 100/10 is this is 10/10 rating, soooo much more to new to do and learn. vs just a couple slight shifts to vanilla, median feels like a completely different game, i love it

diablo.fandom.com/wiki/Brand_Rune_Word It's a "ProcSin" build that uses reworked skills to proc the bonespears from Brand. As bolts/arrows are capable of dropping as magic/rare you can get quite useful mods out of them, and a thing Dbrunski didn't mention is a way to "enchant" some skills with extra benefits through a unique charm (you apply 'orb of enchant' to the charm, and it gives you a random modifier that changes or adds things to a specific skill). In this build's case you have +2 bonespear projectiles, so every time he procs the brand he shoots 3 bone spears. Lmao how do they ruin your experience? First of all jsp is just a way for most people to transfer wealth to a new ladder. As far as bots go, they drive down prices which is very helpful to noobs like you. I could care less as I am a veteran and know how to acquire wealth myself. I dont even understand how a bot affects you. When you finally find your first high rune which probably takes you months, it's worth more because of bots.

@@blitzkrogg2589 you shouldn't be able to transfer wealth to a fresh ladder. This defeats the whole purpose of ladder resets. Bots ruin the economy and saturate the market with GG shit so that a month in everyone is walking around with the very best gear and a Shako can be obtained with a Pul rune. In POD a Shako is still worth a Gul AND an Ist months into the ladder

Yes, they've received big increases to damage on bow skills, along with their jav/spear skills still being great. You can check the pod wiki for more details on skills and uniques :)

This is great mode.... On every ladder reset they release patch and little bit change that ,,OP" builds and try to put in somethink new.. Next one, yes orbs of corruption might seems to be op in some cases but if you think about it, there are no bots, there are no thousands + players but i think to 1000 and online mostly 350-600 so it is not case everybody has everythink due bots and total nolifers. So yeah 6soc windforce might be nice but it will have only few players on entire realm. Last one i rly like that enigma nerf... It makes players more play together especially on hardcore, where is rly only few few sorc wich can teleport it to baal for example so you have to group up and go... And its nice make that little comunity more personal. So after all in my opinion this is just saved Diablo 2 for normal players. Rly great everythink and changes and updates are comming up... Just great work.

Anyone else have mouse problems in Path of Diablo? My scroll does not work when I am in Path of Diablo but it works on regular Diablo, Plugy or SPE. I have tried all the options for compatibility and neither one of them solves my scroll or hot key issue.

You took a point off because he nerfed enigma and cta? Man... considering EVERYONE EVERYWHERE HAS to use these runes words, the nerfing in order to gain diversity was a must. It's a healthier game now.. Of course, that means we are less comfortable and less op now, but I think it's a very fair trade off

So.... I don't have experience in other mods, (YET!) but I have watched a lot of videos on which servers are best to play. I put a fair amount of time into the Annihilus server. And damn... There was a lot of custom content, but it didn't take away any of the old content either. The endgame has 2x more to do than the vanilla. It's questionable at parts, but let's face it, we're all playing a 20 year old game. Isn't everything? I'm looking for another server.. As... Well, I want to start a new, and I'd reached endgame in Annihilus. If you're interested in giving them a go, search. It's a bit tricky to download (I can't figuring it out now I'm trying to return, which is why I'm now looking for a new mod! :')) Anni are looking at changing from a "vanilla with extras" server, to a "we've changed shitloads but there's also loads more gameplay" server.... Give them a shot before time runs out. Also, PLEASE tell me which is best to give my time to next. PoD? Median XL? I'm about to do more research. Help me out!

I havnt tried xl, but it seems cool...tho it also seem extremely different from vanilla. Pod is so good, so many builds that where not viable in d2 are finally worth playing and also new builds. So much QoL and trading is not tedious anymore.

IT ISNT, because PoD got even better... PoD 2021 is the best diablo experience so far

Decent mod, but hasn't been a ladder reset in about 2.5 years...

Personally I don't even think it's close to being among the best mods ... Eastern Sun, Nezeramontias, Median Sigma, Reign of Shadow each boast much diverse Features and provide different challanges. Yes, some changes are neat, but overall it's too vanilla-ish for my taste. I still enjoy the content tho ;-) THanks & Keep it up

The best mod is resurgence played on plugy. Its a pain in the ass to get working apparently for some but its basically poe crafting in d2 , new zones , charms rework , skills.

Are there any downsides?

I understand why you and others don't like the enigma nerf, but enigma was too overpowered with no-cool-down teleport. It's still probably the best armor in the game for most builds, but now the choice isn't so clear. Otherwise everyone "uses enigma on all their builds" and then what's the point of having other armors. There are more ways to initiate teleport with different characters on PoD (with various levels of cool-down, like "flame dash" on your druid) and the cool-downs can be brought down to as low as 0.5 or even 0.4 sec cool-down. This helps make sorc's (or items with teleport on them) special and forces players to either risk more, or kill more, on the way to do their quest/run.
