Also a very bad explanation of cumulative probability circa 21:30, where he notes that Rune A has a 50% chance of dropping and Rune B has a 30% chance, so there's an 80% chance that both runes will drop. (It's actually a 15% chance.)

I feel like so many people doesn't understand that he's joking about the % chance of things dropping. MrLlama is the constant memer.

My dream is Diablo 2 LoD co-op Hell speedrun at GDQ, for 2-3 players. I’m sure it would be so much fun! Btw great Amazon speedrun, yet painful. :)

Agreed. I think doing a co-op run will keep the game fresh for GDQ. Possibly a race would be great to showcase just how much RNG can affect things.

ALso keep in mind hel runs are usually 7 or so hours a large portion of which is grinding for experience. Unles you really really like watching d2 speedruns, you won't like them

Wonder if gdq would accept a path of exile speed run submition. With the new custom leagues you can always make sure to setup an empty character with a new game seed. I know I can get to maps in about 4 hours depending on the character and I know of other people who are much faster

It's (with tal) a rune word called stealth that has a lot of useful stats like faster run walk and hit recovery.

Things I would have like to have seen mention: You can't stack poison damage so there's no need to reapply until it ends. All undead monsters have resistance to poison. Lightning enchanted monsters and bugs don't launch bolts when they're poisoned unless you damage them with another damage type. If they run through the poison trail they won't trigger bolts. Poison nova and poison explosion won't trigger the effect either. Poison stops monsters from regenerating HP.

Enemies don't scale but you get severely diminished experience (5%) if the mobs are much higher level then you are so it's just wasted time. It's just not worth the time it takes.

I learn somtging new Everytime I've been playing since d2 came out an I didn't know that the guy he avoided doing the rune runs was enchanted and if hit by him the shrine goes away

Really interesting, thanks for doing the run. Being pedantic here, so ignore me, but though it may feel like you should get less exp shrines if you see two, that's not the way statistics work. Previous success doesn't lower chance of future luck, it would just make it more surprising. It's surprising because of your knowledge of the full picture, but the math isn't surprised at all. There was just as much chance at the last one as the first. The idea is that not one combination is any more likely than any other. Example: if you flip a coin 10 times, five heads is more likely than 10 heads, but the exact chronological pattern of HHHHHTTTTT is just as likely as HHHHHHHHHH. Something like HTHHTHHTTT may have five heads, but it's substantively different.

Yep. Even if you have had heads a thousand times in a row, the probability of getting heads the next time is still 50%. Probability and statistics is weird.

There are only so many maps for each location. If you play long enough you recognize where to go. You can also study them.

Very surprised he doesnt use the portal baal room trick. If you open a portal when he's about to spawn the mob, go to town and wait 8 seconds, then jump back in - he should laugh for the next round as if you've killed them. Repeat until he goes into the Worldstone Chamber.

Man I think those Exp shrines jinxed this run for Llama. It really messed up the RNG. About Duriel I died so many times to him compared to other D2 bosses. I usually tank him because I want to kill him as fast as possible. Also with Duriel I think he is easier on Nightmare and hell difficulty levels because you have your tree of skills already decided whether your are speed running or playing casually and you do alot more damage on those difficulty levels compared to Normal.

His understanding of experience shrine statistics bothers me immensely.
