I decided to replace my Ninco layout that had been in use for 25 years. I started the work and soon asked myself why. It is still an excellent track system.

I understand technology marches on like time. Our family has had several slot car sets running in our home. Small tracks...big fun and smiles warms the heart ❤. 😊

They are new Ninco track sets available in Spain since 2 years ago, they come with the new universal chassis cars (same chassis, different bodies) and they are not made in China but Spain

Just got into slot cars i have gone for carrera digital. Needed a set that would run ghost car

The textured track is great for traction but a lot depends on your choice of tires. My Scalextric track has dynamic braking just like you showed with the Ninco track. The cars are so fast that you can go dizzy on that layout.

Great info. I have an old Ninco set with extras and joiners for Scalextric Track, which I have some of too. Also a Computer to race solo against. Some Fly cars etc. All over 20 years old. I've never used it enough to learn what you're video shows. I was going to sell it all, but watching videos has changed my mind. Looks like too much fun!

@@losttheplot26 Hard to make room for it in new location. Crazy part is I grabbed a big bargain box of Ninco track recently. For oneday I suppose. I've done a few temporary setups & tried out a few NSR & Revoslot cars, with a decent controller. Great fun with lap timer app.

My club uses Ninco great stuff. I personally went with Policar for my home setup.

You can have dynamic braking with scalextric and as others have mentioned you can also improve the speed and grip on your layout. Try some new neoprene tyres for your green Lamborghini and have a clean track

Braking is not the track surface. It's in the controller and in how much magnet downforce you have. I have noticed on Ninco the magnets in the car pull down harder than on other brands. That and the rough surface is why your green car moves better. I just saw this same symptom on some friend's cars. I cleaned their stock tires with a little sanding and that made their cars run and have great grip on their Scalextric track. You may want to look at Policar Track if you want the more abrasive surface. You could improve your braking on Scalextric with either the better Scalectric controller, or a third party controller.

Ninco is still in business and Ninco track with a adapter piece will mate up to Policar track! You can use Policar ‘s adjustable transformer with Nico as well.

Very much reminds me of the, 124th scale Eldon NASCAR 500 slot car set I received for Christmas in 1966, and the, Eldon Sebring Endurance set I received Christmas of 1967.

That Ninco track even looks more authentic. When the light hits it just right. It looks like actual pavement. If I can get that here in the states I would put some money down on it.

you can get NINCO here in the states, world's largest NINCO track is in metro Atlanta, about 400 foot lap length.

I have sold my Policar circuit, the white guardrails break when you mount and dismount, the track anchors also break easily, and the texture of the Policar track is easily scratched with a simple screwdriver, none is much better, it is also much more quick to assemble and disassemble. Ninco is more better than Policar.

I loved my Ninco track, but since they all but disappeared from the US, I sold all of it and got Carrera instead. It seems like Policar took all of Ninco's best ideas and came up with a great replacement. I hope you get a chance to review it.

Memory's. Back in the early 90s a friend and me built a track 3 sheets of plywood 100 feet x 4 lanes.

Good luck on catching a glimpse of what model or name brand this track is.

Policar is the way to go, it is expensive though. I just use Scalextric track, at the end of the day unless you are racing seriously at home then I don't think you need anything more. You can upgrade your controller and still use Sclaextric track. To be fair proper car and tyre set up still gives okay performance on Scalextric track but not optimal for serious racing. You can get the slightly bigger Policar layout for £150 .

I've had most of them at some point. Big issue with Ninco was that it tarnished and rusted far quicker than any of the others. Mind you if they started making the dunes again it could be interesting. They even made snow track but dang it was so slippery.

Ninco made some very nice track and I have about 75ft of it in a box right now. I use it for taking to demo etc. My primary track is Scalextric and I find it uses nice quality plastic as did Ninco. The difference is one if made to be very stiff the other more flexible. I just formed some hill tracks from Scalextric which cannot be done with Ninco (unless you build a form to bend it on and heat it up with a heat gun to make it bendable). I like the grip on the Ninco if running no magnet cars. But I typically run magnet and either track works fine in that case. Slot car track is like Pizza, beer or candy. Everyone has a favorite. What I've found is "best" is very subjective. For me the best track is whatever gets you in the hobby.

I noticed you kept the throttle steady but the car was a little jerky. Is that due the metal rail connections on some parts of the track? It doesn’t look as smooth as it should do?

AFX G-Plus slot cars stick to track upside down. Santa got me and my brother sets we connected them up then my birthday another set lol. 81 foot track nailed up to wall for a nice turn back down at ceiling Lolol. Did smoke show too drop of oil on track Winters in snowy CAnada @1976 😂😂

Of course you can also buy older Scalextric Classic track for similar textured finish and track. Still plenty of it about, not expensive and the connector pieces are widely sold. Though yes, Ninco track is excellent.

Have you considered Policar track. It has a small footprint (see Dave Kennedy's video comparing it with Scalextric & Carrera track. The video is titled "Buying a slot car set? Here's what to consider"), and a grippy texture to it.

I'd go insane after about 5 minutes playing with this. The track should be 10x larger and in your garage

NINCO makes an up-graded controller that allows you to adjust braking and power level in each controller separately. Also take out the magnet and your car will travel farther after getting off the power. It is hard to get NINCO track now and I suggest you try POICAR, similar track and I actually like it better than NINCO.

Please note that brakes can be added to scalelectric with a control modification.

We had HO scale tracks, and I didn't let anyone drive or run my Porsche GT.😊

Wait to see when they start racing on Policar or Scaleauto Track, I have Policar and it’s the future, lots of grip, no power loss, big, wide track sections and this year should be ready the Oxigen LCs so y guess it’s they will be seizing the digital market for club level racing whereas Scaley and Carrera will remain kings in their home markets and Ninco , well let’s hope they get out of the hole where they are by now😉

one hobby shop built their track out of plywood and just got strips of electric tape to race 8=10 cars

It's been iffy getting Ninco in the US for a while now. Policar track adopted the best characteristics of Ninco track and then upgraded things further. If you don't need digital, Policar is the best track available.

Track so loud though. Also have the fun is getting slides and controlling them like a real car why would you want to run a car like it's on rails ! Fun instantly gone might as well just watch a hornby train go round. Tyres wise just fit nsr to run on the scalextric track then you will see the difference

just getting back in polccar drft and some mostly ninco. scored used 💘 it have added slot it home cars. did damage one policar section trying to glue adapter over all very pleased your postings very helpful 24 hr le mans got me started

NINCO is by far the best track made. So realistic that tire wear is a reality.

Ive recently replaced my scalextric for Policar track for this reason. Policar will be releasing digital lane changers this year so i feel this will only increase the people changing to Policar track, for ome and clubs.

No , AFX is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST. Not even w/new digital incorporation can it offer more speed , excitement, fun than AFX H.O. A GO-GO!!!

Not sure when this Video was done but personally the best is Policar Track. Much flatter than NINCO. Stainless rails that are one piece for each rail. Also multi lane tracks have side joining clips. Borders plug in so you can raise the track without borders falling off. Solid plastic so unlike NINCO it does not become bumpy like NINCO will. Plus Policar are still in business, make an adaptor to add to NINCO layouts or replace parts. The best grip of any plastic track. Please check out Policar for the best track to use. Also same width as NINCO so 1:24 scale cars can be run. Up to 10 lanes or more variety of curves. Get a Grip Get Policar. yomv but with over 60 years in this Hobby I would never buy anything else now!!!!

routed wood tracks are far superior to plastic "toy" layouts......far superior in so many ways and cheaper too. I have been slot racing since 1961.

All this video did was make me sad and p me off. A constant level of negativity towards Scalextric. No doubt the observations are correct, but if you have hundreds of pounds worth of Scalextric, but not the money to buy new track it’s hard to enjoy.

Looks boring compared to carrera with pit lanes and changing lanes. The textured track looks better.
