Ive had my 5000cxh now for 12months, and a few of the smaller models for just shy of the 12month period, I can comfortably say this reel is the undisputed king of finesse fishing & the 5000 is a weapon for heavier saltwater applications. I'll be in to buy another few models to complete my collection. keep up the good work guys!

The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel kzread.infoUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.

For me Daiwa reel is a masterpiece❤❤❤ the design was perfect 101% ❤

Sounds like it have the Shimano bail clicking when opening the bail? Not like the other daiwa LT reels where the bail opens silently? I have both the 18 Stellas and Exist LT. Great video though!

Nice review, I’m trying to decide whether I want the 4000 or 5000 size. What’s the difference between the two? Is it just the spool size? Same body? It would be nice if you can put out a video to compare the sizes. Thanks.

Is the side plate socket used on the Certate to open it fit on this reel?

😅😅😅 better test those drag numbers yourself, 10kg is more than even the 6K Certate SW puts out, the 5k Certate LT which is similar to the Exist only produces 6kg which is still plenty for such a small reel but don't believe those numbers, regardless, such a small reel wouldn't survive such a drag for long anyway, sadly.

Yes, the new 22 Exist is the best of the best! I have many previous Daiwa, and three new Stella 2022, but the 22 Exist is top of the top. I have three so far, but two more on order.

Jan, What sizes and what rods did you pair with each? I have a PC LT 3000-XH on order from digitaka. I still have not picked the rod yet for it. Do you have a good recommendation?

@@CannonCountry I use the 2000, 2500, 3000 and 5000. I mostly use the 3000 for pike on a Westin W10 Powerteez 8´7" . An amazing rod!

Regular locomotive osc. plus magseal oil to worry about , as a shimano guy i have baught lately certate 5000 lt just for the design sake only, when compared side by side with tp 5000 fd i can spot easily quality finish with certate rotor bottom section with one side having sharp edge , i do cast good enough n certate would always come short , still happy with my purchase though. stella 5000xg fk is my next hunt.

Magseal is no worry. I have that oil if needed, and the "locomotive" oscillation is best. The "new" slow oscillation was introduced in the 1960´s by Mitchell. Not very successful.

@@DrJanLindberg Most users find it impossible to get genuine magseal oil , locomotive vs worm gear osc means cross pattern vs parallel . Even logics going against what u c , less friction does help alot in good hands,

@@maasai- When the line is slightly loosely wound, it can sometimes cut down to the layer below and cause more friction than a slight cross pattern. MagSeal oil is easily available from Hedgehog Studio .

Not regular simple locomotion at all. Just a more advanced oscillation, compares to Shimano´s design, borrowed from bait casting reels.

There is no side plate. Instead, we have a plate, on the side, which comes off!😂

Looks ok anyway. I do not drop my reels in the water 🤣 I do not want any mag sealed reels in my collection . I do like the design of the body 😉👍 .

Saltiga is heavy duty and the Exist is a finesse reel. Both are Daiwa flagship models

It is made in Japan. The knob on the 5000 Size would be way too big for a 2500

I love the new Exist, just wish they kept with the same iconic thick bail that high-end Daiwa reels have. I really don’t mind the extra weight that comes with a more sturdy thick bail. But other than that, it’s just superb to fish with! Great video mate!

Not sure why youd need to do this? But if you want to spin your reels fully submerged in salt water, get a Van Staal I guess.

🤣🤣🤣 No! It's not a Van Staal, even the Saltigas shouldn't be reeled underwater and the exist isn't a heavy duty fully sealed saltwater reel. The Exist is for freshwater and light inshore fishing where the reel is neither submerged nor heavily drenched, salt spray is fine but anything more is at your own risk. Get the small Certate SW or Saltiga if you expect a dunk or two, if you actually want to reel underwater get a Staal if you don't like to waste money on broken reels

The Exist is SW rated and is built better than the Certate. Just because it doesn't have SW in the name doesn't mean it's not sealed just as good or better.

Lovely reel but is it made in Japan or Thailand just bought a Zillion it is made in Thailand and the instructions where in Chinese Rang Diawa and the sent the English instructions in and email Not what you expect with a nearly a $600 reel

Well this is the flagship Daiwa, of course it is good. Not a fan of the colour tho. I am still keeping them brown/gold beauties from 2018, absolutely stunning looking, these new ones are a bit meh.

Go hold one in person, they make the 2015 feel like a plastic toy🤷🏽‍♂️ (you meant the 15 I assume, as the 18 was the ugly silver LT, 15 was the brown/gold gem). However I totally agree with the looks, I wouldn't say "meh" as honestly the liquid metal kinda look in person is supe cool, but it definitely doesn't look as classy as the 2015! But no reel does to be fair 😂.

@@cozab5487 Yes, my bad, 15 indeed. Beauty. But I just realized that I badly need a 3000/4000 HX 😅😅 So… If you remember at that time the Stella looked very similar-brown and gold. Both were amazingly looking reels and I stocked up well on both but small sizes only. Which is good as now I can justify adding another Exist, gonna check it still tomorrow.

The only thing that’s not impressive is the price 😂😂

I think the exist will fail against the 2023 vanquish

​@@mattgauthier7216😂😂 what is a 17 stradic good in? Line roller replacement every half a year, worm gear into pieces in 1.5 years, all bearings replaced in 8 months and thats fishing in freshwater. Never had an issue with Daiwas, just regular maintenence, im still a shimano guy though because of vanquishes lightness and no effort to start spinning the handle

Got mine from jdm market and the presentation is much better. It comes with soft touch box n foam cut outs for the reel and handle. Good vid!
