    I didn't know sexual tension was a normal thing when meeting someone knew for the first time. I want a relationship, get married and then have children. I felt very guilty about having sexual tension early on. It's gotten to the point where I have to fall into temptation and not follow my desires. I don't want to hurt myself and the guy I like.

    I recently adopted a certain philosophy. Dunno if it’s good or bad, but here it is: As a guy, I don’t make a move on a girl’s hints. At first this was because I can usually assume I’m wrong, and I’m going to chose the option with much less severe consequences. Nowadays, though, I pretend to be oblivious for a different reason: I don’t want to be with someone who can’t act like a real adult. I have much more respect for women who actually say how they’re feeling as opposed to leaving me to determine whether she’s flirting with me or trying to set me up as a sex offender. Some of that probably came out colder than I meant. I’m curious to know what some of y’all think. If you disagree, please let me know and I can make amends to my philosophy

    I think, regardless of gender, we are supposed to pick up flirting cues and somehow react to them, especially when we're younger. But I think what you mentioned is very important, which is that we should learn how to communicate our honest and true feeling with one another without the need to coat it in flirting techniques. What was the main reason why you came to this decision?

    What I will say is that it usually becomes clear and sometimes even straight up obvious when you have found someone right for you. Sure it's all very complicated and at times very overwhelming, but here would be my advice. Think carefully about what matters most to you in a relationship, what you value most. When you meet someone who meets those values, they're more likely to be right for you, but don't immediately think that it's a guarantee that they'll be into you romantically. They might just not be naturally attracted to you which sucks but it's just life sometimes. I also advise that if there is an imbalance between sexual playfulness and care for each other then it's likely best to back away. I once had a girlfriend who did really care about me, but she had no desire for sex or even just soft playfulness like cuddling and kissing in bed which is something I need to feel more secure and connected.

    She may have had no desire for sex because she may have had bad experiences. My ex was the same. I already told him beforehand how I was mistreated by men in the past & is hence the reason why I am even insecure of my body & fearful of any such sexual tension. Tho I did became comfortable with him eventually that we got a bit close physically, it still felt as if he only wanted to be sexual with me. He'd be emotionally unavailable too. This is a problem with lots of men tbh. They say they care about you & are willing to listen to you just so that they can get close to you. This is why I have hard time trusting men. I am not really comfortable with physical affection, especially if it's a sexual or flirty touch. Atleast in dating.

  • @Relixification

    @Relixification

    8 ай бұрын

    @@devashrijoshi9079 that insecurity is for sure holding you back, physical affection is indeed a NECESSITY in a relationship, I don't care if you think platonic relationships are a thing, but they certainly are to a degree of a 'friendship' and not an intimate relationship. Different people have different coping mechanisms, but EVERYONE has the same need of physical intimacy, I'm sorry but if you don't otherwise, you're kind of the problematic individual in the relationship, and possibly need professional help to assist you on your insecure predicament. It isn't fair to judge everyone on the same boat, life is too short to say you generally have trust issues with men, it goes the same with men who have trust issues with women because of that ONE woman who brought out the insecurity and low self-esteem issues from him.

    I am a typical demisexual and there is this one man I am into for the past 10 years (too long Story). When I managed to fly to his country and we sit next to each other at his event, I was dying out of sexual tension. I never experienced it that heavy around men I usually get to know or get to like. Maybe because I was never that close to someone for so many years x.x Even if it was hard to bear, I really enjoyed that moment a lot and some of the points you mention in the Video also suit his behavior sometimes😊💕

    I just smile when I can tell someone likes me (not because I like them). There's a barista at a café I go to and every time I get served by her the interaction is always awkward. She leaves a lot of pauses in conversation as if she's genuinely receptive to what I am saying and genuinely cares. Whereas normal people will ask me how I am before even listening to what I actually have to say (because they're just being nice). I don't like this girl at all so I know the constant awkwardness is on her. And I find that flattering so I smile to be polite because she's a sweet girl.

    This tension seems to also make people do things they don't normally do. I remembered my ex back in college before we got together was a very reserved quiet person keeping to herself, but she always manages to be somehow near me. As young as I was I was numb to seggsual advances. Because thinking back on it on our class free time she's like sitting on my armchair while chatting with me, I'm like there's a chair right there why not sit there and her reasoning was so we can hear each other better which sitting on the chair right next to me wouldn't really make much of a difference. But yeah after a few more advances I realized what she wanted.

    i think i might have a crush, but i dont wanna do anything with it. its just a tracker in my brain to spot them every time i see them. im the kind of person who cannot act like a regular human when theyre happy, like laughing continuously at small things near everyone. when one of my friends jokingly asked to marry me, i said “table.” that’s the first result in my brain. i can only act really mature out of restraining myslef, or just all out insaneness. :/ i don’t think im built for getting crushes

    I long ago learned to keep things verrrrrry “business like” with anyone I may have feelings towards. After reading some of the sad tales from those that are too often rejected, I go to “serious, straight-face mode” in order to avoid unpleasant or potential “EWWW!!” From the other party. Unspoken sexual tension is much easier to deal with than embarrassment, maybe even a “have to get away from this dweeb” humiliation. Uh-Uh. NO.

    I've had this at work where this girl constantly looks for me and stares at me. she always strikes conversation on the most random things. she stutters or rambles when we talk. constantly smiles at me and turns into pudding when we're in the same room alone. she gets the deer in the headlights look when I glance back at her. holds my hand or holds me to ask me a question. always stalks me during lunch breaks and follows me to the cafeteria and she can't keep her eyes off of me. she tries to hide her emotions but it comes out of her pores. yet she rejects all of my romantic advances. then she keeps coming back for more a few days later. don't believe anything you see from the opposite sex.

    There’s this one guy in my class and we sit next to each other or close in most of our classes. Sometimes since we’re so close my chest tightens and even with the slightest contact of our knees brushing gives me chills. But there’s a small part of me that feels that this feeling may be somewhat mutual, when ever I look in his direction his head sometimes quickly turns as if he was looking at me but didn’t want to get caught, over times we’ll just accidentally lock eye contact, and I always can just sorta feel the tension whenever we’re close. Please someone tell me if I’m most likely being delusional. 😅
