Steaua was owned by the army, but new laws of uefa stated that only private teams can compete in europe, so they got a private owner. Few years ago, army decided to sue the owner and get back the name of steaua from justice. So, the private owner had to change the name because didn't get rights for steaua name anymore and he called his private team fcsb. The army founded a new football team, put the name steaua because they have the legal rights and started all over from 4th league. Now steaua is stuck in 2nd league because only private teams cand play in 1st league.

If you remember from the guy on antique market, steaua is the army, dinamo the police and Rapid was founded by railway company workers on june 25th 1923. steaua and dinamo were founded right after ww2 when russia implemented communism in Romania. That's why Rapid hate steaua and dinamo so much, but we don't hate necessarily their fans as they are romanian like us.

Just a tip for your safety (some times fights break between supporters at derby matches). In soccer, the hosts (home team) is the owner of the most seats of the stadium, that means the majority of the supporters are rooting for the hosts. You can tell which team is the host and which is the guest team because the host will appear first on the ticket/schedule ( Host Team - Guest Team ). The place (within the stadium) you have bought tickets in, is pretty safe as those are just people coming to enjoy a game, not necessarily "ultras" (the ultra-fired guys from the gallery).

If you want to sit in opposition fans cheer squad (our equivalent of Ultra) you can if you can get a ticket, or you can just sit in the bay next to them. I've been an away supporter at a game where my team had about 500 supporters and opposition had 13 000~ I was completely safe. I watch AFL (Australian Football League, it's our own code of football) and NRL (Rugby League) always feel safe at a game. A-League which is Soccer/English Football. There are sometimes segregated fans, when rival teams play. But for normal matches (non rival) you can sit where ever you want. I watched the A-League Grand Final in the Melbourne City Ultra, while wearing Western United gear and was fine. But if it was Melbourne Victory vs Melbourne City, then it would be a different story haha.

That was actually a great match! First time learning that passion hurts, football is like that, guys! Have an amazing trip to Brazil and keep the great moments you had in your hearts!

Old statistically since Steaua got the European champions cup. In the meantime many People get sick of the big mess that football become în România and în the world (just think about the final France-Brazil when it was a must France to win). Befor '86 Rapid was far the most loved team în România and no wonder if it's close to be again unless due to the Best fans .

As someone from a city that doesn't have a team in the first tier(Brasov), most of the people are either Steaua or Dinamo fans. In my 18 years of living, I've only met 1 Rapid fan

You missed FCSB's choreography at the beginning of the match. Also, Steaua fans are splitt in two. One faction supports FCSB, and another faction, the more ultras fans, cheer for CSA Steaua, which is in the second league. Both teams pretend to be Steaua. If you would've come a few years ago, you would have seen that Steaua fans are above Rapid. :) PS: That's why you see comments spamming like, "FCSB is not Steaua," and, "FCSB is Steaua." There's a huuuge debate on this matter. :)

It was a mixed area. I use to stay many years in the neutral area especially when my son was younger . People enjoy the show whitout to fight each others.

No, the biggest Derby in Romania was Fc steaua București-Dinamo București, but Dinamo team is struggling these days because no foundings, but the team in red won champion's league final back in 1986 in minute 120 where both Fc Barcelona and Fc Steaua București took each 5 penalties, but our goalkeeper, Helmuth Duckadam saved 4 out of 4 penalties and setting a world record... Unfortunately those days are history, now the team is mediocre

Rapid Ultras wasn't empty !! only 2400 tickets were allowed for us, and at the top only ! It was a strategy from fcbs, so that we can't have more fans then them in the stadium !! Even so, we were louder !!! We own them every day of the week !

That’s because when we played on rapid stadium, host gave us just 600 tickets, but last night rapid fans had 2500 tickets. So this bad strategy starts from last game when rapid was the host 😅

@@deyu1648 Exactly! However to put them at the highest ring was disgusting! On the TV it was look horrible to see the empty seats in the left side. Only MM Stoica could have come up with this! I am a Steaua fan but that's not ok. About the number yes, Rapid organizers did this first in Giulești when they suddenly decide to give only 600 tickets. But now Rapid said all derby will be held in Arena Naționala so that means when Rapid will be host they can do the same and put us only on the second ring. Does MM Stoica even have a brain?!

But anyway it was a good atmosphere and i am sad because i really wanted to meet steve and ivana. Yesterday at they were live, i was thinking were they will be on the stadium to say hi to them, and now i see that we stayed in the same sector 328

Don't be sad, enjoy the show, the bets are deciding the winner. All it's about money. Younger, 33 years ago I used to follow Rapid all the country, I actually was the fans photographer. I still have home about 3000 old remaining photos. Finally I gave up after a match, with Steaua for the romanian cup competition played at Brașov, when someone from the Rapid staff told to one of my friends :- don't get there, Steaua will win 4-3. Finally was 4-2 but in the last minutes each smal contact was a penalty for Rapid advantage who suppose to mark again but.... For me was enough to understand how it's working. In that time wasn't the bets but Ceausescu family, Steaua fans and the security/services.

Actually the biggest football derby is Petrolul-Rapid because it was the first one in romania. Steaua and Dinamo are just 2 teams invented by the comunists in 1947 and 1948 whereas petrolul was invented in 1924 and rapid in 1923.

we have never had steaua's and dinamo's results because we had no connection with the comunists who were forcing players to come to steaua and dinamo but the fans of petrolul and rapid always remained with the team even though the results were not the best.

It's okay man, we got them 5-1 afterwards that year, and a 2-1 on their home turf this autumn. We'll get them again. Forza Rapid!

FCSB - many years ago there was a dispute regarding the trademarks and stadium properties, and whether or not Becali bought them as well off the Army. Courts said no, so the Army runs CSA Steaua București (currently firs in the second league), but the historical results belong to FCSB.

Why don't you talk about your favourite team's history? Same things stands about Dinamo. The teams of the communist party that were helped all the time, players forced to play there in order to get military badges & rewards, opponent teams imposed to lose. :)

@@ramonac5600 It’s actually stay. This is the statistics for FCSB. The team from the second league unrecognized by UEFA is at 4.7 similar to Rapid (which I highly doubt since Rapid have way more fans than that team from the second league who play at home with 200 fans (no offense.)

Quick info... FCSB is a team that has been created after a split of FC Steaua Bucharest... The split happened because the army (who owned thr club before Gigi Becali took ownership back in 2003) wanted to keep ownership, claiming becali wasnt the owner of steaua's history and championsps trophies, there for they went to court back in 2016 or 2017... they won... but becali didnt give up either... he was given the ownership of a team if he changed the name and renounce the titles before 2003... thus 2 teams were created after the split... FCSB owned by becali, who was allowed to play in the first division and who most fans still think is steaua bucharest, and CSA steaua bucharest owned by the army and started playing in 4th division... back in 2017... now csa steaua is in second division and with high chances of promoting to first division next year... when the 2 teams will eventually meet that would be a civil war betweer the fans... Throughout history, steaua bucharest is by far the biggest club in romania and its not even close... its the only club in romania and only 2 clubs in east europe who won Europeean cup back in 1986... now called ueafa champions league... aka the biggest tournament in the world after the world cup of course... Fun fact the otber east europeean team who won it is also called steaua... haha... but its steaua rosie belgrad... Back in romania, untill 2010s, the 3 big teams in bucharest were Steaua, Dinamo (who is actually steaua's biggest rivals) and Rapid were nicknamed GRANZII CAPITALEI. Wich means the big ones from the capital.. and it was for good reason... before the rise od CFR cluj back in 2008, the 3 big teams in capital use to win between then all the trophies...few other teams could challenge them... theb came the rise of cfr cluj back in 2008, rapid was relegated into 4th division due to it becoming insolvent and dinamo lost ita value finally relegating for the first time in its hiatory into second division last year... and steaua split in 2... rapid managed to climb back into 1st division and its the team you currently cheer... they indeed have more fanatic fans. They are the most loyal to their team.. the most fanatic are probably dinamo's fans, but by far the most numerous fans are steaua's fans... This was a quick history of the 3 big teams in bucharest... steaua, dinamo and rapid...

the rapid fans sound louder cuz they were at the top of the arena where the sounds goes more clearly thats the reason if they were in the sector down they wouldnt be heared

Who put them there? Only Fcsb! We sing all game long, even when we loose, is a big difference. Fcsb fans sign only if they win and even so they are 0!

Rapid fans were only allowed to buy 2400 tickets, for the guests sector. The rest, probably the two of you as well, were forced to mix between the wcsb flock. That’s why many didn’t buy a ticket at all. These are usual practices for wcsb… kills the sport and the passion for the game.. 😕

The definition of a derby is : " a match between two nearby teams with a long standing rivalry" . This is not a derby 1st of all bcz fcsb is on 7th position and Rapid is on 2nd. And the 2nd reason why this is not a DERBY is bcz fcsb was found in 2013...where is that long standing rivalry ? So pls get informed first fcsb its not STEAUA

The Biggest football derby in Romania is FCSB(Steaua București) - Dinamo București, but games like Steaua - Rapid, Dinamo - Rapid.. are also called derbies because of the fans! In the 2000's Steaua, Dinamo and Rapid finish everytime in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places so the rivarly bettween them increased very much then.. Now the derbies are just for the fans, the teams downgraded in the last years..
