@Lycanthromancer1

@@theduckgoesmoo It's more that the main writer is partially using it as a form of therapy and partially using it to teach children (and adults) the value of therapy. Most people need therapy a lot more than they realize, and not getting it when you need it has serious negative repercussions. Therapy has a really negative stereotype, but it's just another form of taking care of yourself, like a good diet and proper exercise, or caring for yourself after an injury.

Oddly they didn't mention two spells. Although Star never used them, she had access to them. One spell ... is literally a spell to permanently kill a creature. Even if it is immortal. And the second is the "nameless spell" that even got its own episode (and was actually used much later). The most powerful spell created by Eclipse, the queen of monsters. Link VS Cloud originally came out in 2012, all the way back in Season 1. The one you saw is the remake/rematch. Remake, because the first one was their first ever CG Death Battle, & if you ever watch it, you can definitely tell. Rematch, because the way they formed the first battle was them limiting the arsenal to their main equipment. People didn’t like that, which lead to them asking for a rematch that; 1. Had all of their equipment & 2. Looked good. Spoilers: They got their wish.

Watched SU all the way through, and I started Star, but never really got that into it. Even dispite having only seen the first couple episodes, I still knew Steven was going to lose. That part about a spell destroying a universe on Star’s analysis is what basically sealed it for me in my mind. I knew that Steven didn’t have anything nearly on that level, at least not alone. I held out hope for Steven, but didn’t expect him to win.
Steven is a sweet boy that actually gets traumatized from all the cartoon adventurers he does and became like that in his older years, now being the person in need of help instead of the other way around. Star while noble in her quest for monster equality has a bad romance record… don’t watch a show of terrible romance will drive you mad. @@theduckgoesmoo A lot of shows had important messages. X-Men and Gargoyles both dealt with racism, Justice League with mental health, Digimon with death and grief, Batman the Animated Series would cover domestic violence and body dysmorphia. Wacky and fun is great, but shows can have substance too.
death in kids shows is actually super common, just like in videogames, movies. death and violence are how we were raised
Star's spell are based on her Wand, The Royal Wand if you wanna call it. It allows you to create spells limited to the boundaries of your mind and imagination.
The line between "children show" and "adult show" have become quite blurred. Nowerdays, cartoons, especially those with a story, tend to be "family shows" meaning they can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of their age...if the themes, tone and story and character writing is in accordance with your tastes in fictional storys, that is...
Both these shows are amasing! Steven Universe is my favorite of the 2 and despite being for kids deals with some pretty heavy subjects. Star Vs The Forces of Evil is great... until the last season (The last season was rushed and kinda forced). Both great shows. Steven was on Cartoon Network and star was on Disney XD
Steven Universe and Star vs the Forces of Evil both started as light hearted cartoons, but got darker over time and dealt with more serious subjects. Steven was a kind hearted boy who wanted to get along with everyone while having to deal with the occasional monster of the week. You know that centipede monster that attacked him at the start of the video? He tried to tame her as a pet. He never met his mother but was raised by people who loved her and put her on a pedestal. However over time he learned that his saint like mother had more than a few skeletons in her closet, including allegedly shattering (killing) Pink Diamond, when he had been taught up to that point she loved everyone. He had to deal with that as well as Homeworld's inability to understand that he and Rose Quarts aren't the same person as they don't reproduce the same way humans do, at least not normally. You already got some of that from the first segment. You have seen what happens when his PTSD boils over. Star vs the Forces of Evil started as a wacky episodic cartoon. A magical princess from another dimension transfers to and Earth school and is paired up with an average boy because he is bland as hell and hope he can keep her out of trouble, hijinks ensue. A group of incompetent monsters follow her to Earth after her wand and they kept getting beat down. However half way through the first season the silly monster boss is replaced by a far more sinister and competent one. From there they explore the past of the Butterfly kingdom and how it isn't all sunshine and rainbows, even counting the rainbows that set the kingdom on fire. There were a lot of issues that weren't easy to fix.

OOOOOH MAKES SENSE
As it looks like the battle and the characters interested you -- yeah, check out both shows. They are both very much worth watching.
Steven Universe, AKA "Talking Things Out With Horrible People Always Works, Even When It _Reaaaaally_ Shouldn't: The Show". It ran on Cartoon Network for a good while. Star vs The Forces of Evil, from what I've seen is basically a reverse-Isekai where the protagonist is from a magical kingdom but ends up in our world -but the main character suffers from a crippling case of ADHD.- I dunno how accurate that is (or if it's even still on) as I only really saw the first season on Disney. Star was voiced by Corinne Sudberg, good friend of TFS and voice of Bulma, Chiaotzu, and Sir Integra, among others.
Fun fact the same voice actress for Bulma from DragonballBall Z abridged voiced Star butterfly
All I know about these show's is that Star is from Disney and started out strong but got rocky as it went on (from what was described in Nostalgia Critic/Doug's mini review of the show for Disneycember). And the shipping for both shows got a little crazy. But that's every single fandom when it comes to shipping
@silverstone9836
2 жыл бұрын
the big problem with shipping in the show was that even the writers themselves where talking part in it, where they would contantly write episodes promoting a ship only for an episode to destroy that ship to promote a different one and it got tiresome
The next episode is Batman vs Iron man, and it has a different ruleset than normal. Usually characters are limited to their "standard arsenal" meaning things they always have or could quickly and easily get. Things that are kept locked up or are only for special situations aren't allowed. For this fight that rule is ignored. They have access to everything they've ever made.

Oh god that’s a good one
other thing they should of added to his story is about his ability to change his body based on his mindset not the stretching his body but like change his phyical age one episode he almost killed himself bygetting his mindset to be im not a child anymore then walking around his town looking at all the childish stuff he liked as a child caused him to keep aging until he was so old that body was giving out naturally. the reason steven became a monster is because the stress of battling with him being a diamond who he still view as monsters for doing things like killing other gems so when he killed jasper then jasper came back repecting steven as a diamond his mind snapped and he fell into the mind frame of i am a diamond im a monster just like them so he became a monster the reason they hugged him to set him free is that they saw what he saw as the monster part of him and still loved him enough to not hurt him so his mind started running along the lines of if they still love me like this i cant be that bad of a person i cant really be a monster can i?
Star Vs the Forces of Evil until later parts when it dropped in quality and they started focusing on relationship drama while putting a good plot on a back burner, the ending was also quite upsetting because of all the relationship stuff beforehand and the nonsensical ending where Star decided to destroy magic doing what the first villain of this show failed to accomplish. Probs killing all the magical creatures in the process. It was awesome to speculate with the community the lore and what would happen next tho while the show was still good.

This Season is full of requested episodes , and Steven VS Star was very requested(Not the Most requested since those are reserved for the 2nd half of the season). Both shows are very recent(from the 2010's) and are very similar , being teenagers with powers and other things Steven is from Cartoon Network and Star is From Disney, Both of them have episodical plots but some continuity details for later in the story, popularized by Avatar in the 2000's and Adventure Time in the 2010's. There Are 2 Link Vs Cloud Death Battles , one from Season 1 (The first 3D DB) and this one from Season 8 (Remastered, with new info, better animation and ALL their equipment) and its the Mid Season Finale. After this they took a month break and started the 2nd Half with Batman Vs Iron Man (Which is next in the reaction order...)
Both shows start slow and child like and them seem random at first but then they start to pick up after a season with some good story and even some adult themes and they both end very strong
So the voice actors here are: Kdin Jenzen as Steven Corrine Sudberg AKA Megami33 as Star Liam Swan(DB’s lead researcher as well as one of their writers and directors) as Spider With a Top Hat Also if you’re skipping Link v Cloud: The Sequel, then next fight is Batman VS Iron Man

honestly while it was the result i expected I was hoping I was wrong for some reason, but sometimes you're just like "I want it to go this way but I don't see it going this way."
Fun Fact: This episode features little Easter Eggs of 2 DB KZreadrs; Redrunner & GumballViking. In the battle, you can see them on/as the sandcastles Steven tumbles over (it’s a “blink & you’ll miss it” detail). Hey, maybe if you get enough attention, you’ll might make it on a future episode.

Im SO waiting for you to react to that. I know how much you like speed ;) Alsonif anyone know the song that plays in the beginning of Steven's rundown I'd very much like to know.
For spoiler free context: Star is the princess of this realm called Mewni and when a princess turns 14, they inherit the magic wand from the previous queen, recived by the supernatural from beyond. But she didn't handle it well so she was sent to Earth, a place without magic to self reflect I guess idk. That book she has contains spells of the previous queens. As for Steven, he's the son of a human and a gem called "Rose Quartz". Gems are extraterrestrial beings who conquer other planets and steal their resources, their leaders being the "Diamonds". Rose betrayed the Diamonds to protect the Earth but in the process, she made many mistakes and her gemstone passed onto Steven when he was born. That's why Steven got her powers and the shield which is Rose's signature weapon. Hope that helped lmao.

Cloud vs Link has 2 rounds like Goku vs Superman had, which is what comes after this Death Battle so no, you're not going out of order PS: Yeah, both shows are technically for kids , but dealt with really DARK subjects at times Like how in SU ,shattered gems were forcefully put back together with other shattered gems, creating nightmarish monstrosities that attack anything they see out of pure anguish And in SVTFoE, its revealed that Eclipsa , who had fallen in love with the king of monsters and vice versa, was not only NOT evil as she was being presented she also isn't Star's actual great x8 grandmother and that history was rewritten because a union between a mewman and a monster was deemed unnaceptable , let alone a future queen born of that union (Meteora) TL;DR Star and her mother realised that their family technically usurped the throne at the behest of the magical council that sealed Eclipsa and her husband in the first place and took away their daughter, while rewritting history ro present them both as evil As for the actual quality of the shows, they both had a solid 1st season and an even better 2nd season, but they both fissled out towards the end cause of poor writting decisions
Steven Universe is a great show. It's only problem was its release schedule and it's Creator. The releases were so sporadic that you'd wait 6 months for like 3-5 episodes at a time. And the shows creator, Rebecca Sugar, liked the episodes that didn't feature the main story and told one-off stories about the people around Steven. That's fine to have those kinds of episodes for the first season and even the second, but she did it all the way to season 5 when the story was well underway and I don't think we need to focus on a horror themed rock band when there are ALIEN LESBIAN ROCK NAZIS. both shows started ok, became greater throughout most of their run but ultimately got worse and failed hard at the end. both shows are written and drawn for younger audiences, but contain elements that make them interesting for adults too. steven universe can be called a show about relationships between all sorts of people, it has (mostly) got a good heart. star vs evil is a show about emotions, how they affect everyone and the consequences of how you deal with them. niether show is on my list of shows to reccomend, but i wouldnt call either outright bad. in fact both have many things to love and nobody would say they dont understand why somebody likes these shows. i would recommend these shows if you are a creative person, because its great learning material.

Hey, I didn't feel like Steven fell hard at the end. At least, not as hard as Star

Both are well-loved shows that, for some reason, completely went off bad in their last seasons which is a shame since I loved both of them as a child
Steven Universe is Cartoon Network and Star VS The Forces of Evil is Disney and they're both really worth checking out, especially Steven Universe. They're shows for everyone.
Also the next time is a remake of the original cloud vs link
Cloud vs Link has 2 different Death Battles just like Boba Fett vs Seamus I believe. Unlike Goku vs Superman though they’re not sequels, just “Remakes”
Honestly you might as well not watch Link versus cloud at all. Because yeah final fantasy 7 is a long game but if you're worried about being spoiled on link, you literally have to play all his games. Which would honestly probably take you weeks even if you play them every day. So honestly I wouldn't worry about those two death battles. Because if you wait till you play them it will be years from now. 😂 By the way there is two. The original one which came out early in death Battle and the new one with upgraded graphics and a little bit more from the newer games. That's the one that showed at the end of this video
I don't really know much about Star, but Steven's life was one loaded with dark truths and cleaning up the mistakes of Pink Diamond. After the Diamonds used that blast of light on Earth, unprotected gems were turned into corrupted and seemingly mindless monsters. Some were captured, shattered, and turned into forced amalgamations. These forced fusions desperately longed to find their true fragments and become truly whole again. There are places on Earth called Kindergartens, where life filled landscapes are turned into barren wastelands to create gems. This is just some of the big stuff.
Both shows started as kid shows, but then they began to shift here and there for the attended audience.
_Star vs the Forces of Evil_ is a Disney/Disney XD show that ran from 2015-2019. I'd talk about it more, but as a magic Otaku, I HATED how the series ended. _Steven Universe_ is a Cartoon Network series that ran from 2013-2019, was followed by an animated movie in 2019, and concluded with the sequel series Steven Universe Future in 2020. It was created by Rebecca Sugar, a former Adventure Time storyboard artist/animator/wroter/song writer.

I’ve heard it but I’ve never watched the video
Like the Goku and Superman Death Battles... There's more than one Link VS Cloud Death Battle, one is old and one is newer.
There's two link vs cloud videos on death battle
Watch the entire episodes of star vs the force of evil, enjoyed it
Steven Universe was on Cartoon Network and is one of my all time favorite cartoons. It's got great music and heart.
Oh he did go Godzilla form, in the process of dieing
"Steven Universe" is a kid show from CARTOON network and "Star VS the force of evil" Is a kid show from Diney channel. Both of them are quite enjoyable for all ages, containing a more complex history, characters and lore that you might expect. They are defenitly not the best animated shows either CARTOON network of disney have made, but they are not bad(most of the time) 1:50 both shows have many problems, but i don't think they are nearly that bad.
20:25 i think Star wining is the correct Result due because her power are literally just nonsensical magic, but i must say, she never showed a feat nearly as big as the destruction of a planet, if she could do that, the final enemy of the show would have been beat en in no time, not that it would have made the anding any less bad
Steven Universe Cartoon Network 2013-2020 Star Butterfly Disney XD 2015-2019 Duck's Record Nice 69W 46 L (IC 1 In A Roll) Highest Streak: 5 Me: 33 W 28 L
Rebecca Sugar is a really awesome showrunner. Her show Steven Universe is on the Cartoon Network 2013-2019. Star vs the forces of evil is a Disney show. With a She-Ra-like magical Princess, both are mature, but still, kids shows.
As well as it getting everywhere, Sand also is coarse, rough and irritating
"Is this an adult show or a kid show?" Answer: Yes
