Got to give these Chinese made vehicles true credit. No ridiculous waiting times like the big name manufacturers, solid warranty, great safety/luxury features and unbeatable prices. Yes, some of the active driving features can be a software upgrade, but essentially, theses will sell like hot cakes. Thou, I will wait until the next version arrives (near months away) with the more powerful engine and AWD. Well done Chery.

if you work with Chines brand warranty devision, you can't say like that. They request tones of test result which is not covered by warranty payment, so that high chance of repair delay. Even it approved, you have to wait a long long time until parts arrive in Australia. They are just tiny present in decorated huge package.

I brought one a couple of months ago after originally wanting purchSe a small SUV like Kona, Seltos, Corolla etc but the waiting lists and huge price increases made me look at the Chery Omoda. I loved the look of it straight away and driving it was even better once i got used to constantly looking for no hand brakes and keys that you turn. Yes the indicators are quite loud but Im used to that now, just crank up the music. I dont travel too far these days so this suits me. Im used to the lane assist stuff now. It kerps me awake 😂. Compared to my Kia Cerato and Toyota Corolla, im loving the feeling of height and space. Love it.

With Kia/Hyundai moving up in price, it's great to see the new Chinese lower cost competitors entering. If anything, it will help keep prices lower for the other more established brands. Chery, BYD and MG all feel like Kia/Hyundai's back in the 90s.

I was impressed with the drive and used to most of the smart features. I drive a 2022 BT-50 that has plenty of these annoying features. Eventually get used to it.

If you remove the front plastic cover, you will find a huge aluminum bumper, which is very expensive to produce. Moreover, the body frame is made of 78% high-strength steel. In order to ensure safety and reliability, Chery likes to use the best parts where you can't see them. As for why the price is so affordable, it is because Omoda 5 is a global model with a huge output. The labor cost in China is very cheap and the work experience is rich. China has the most advanced automated factories and the production efficiency is very high.

I wonder how many of the Chinese brands will stand the test of time. It seems like the era of unfathomable growth in China is ending and the rest of the big economies that supported the growth have their own issues. However maybe Chinese cars will have a export market. Japan, Europe, and America have car brands that are producing pretty expensive cars. Younger folks can't afford this and can't even buy a home. So maybe cheap Chinese stuff will dominate. They have a chance but they also have their own issues. It will be interesting to see.

It will take time to build the reputation and trust. If you could of find some Chinese domistic auto market news, you may find that, most of those big brand started loosing their share. Not only the Chinese brand start building high quality and better value cars, more important, they start pay more attention on safety, you may find that on haval, Chery, ldv, or byd, they all put significant amount efforts to improve their safety. Which is what I love to see the most. Aside of those safety features, structure, materials, designs, all start catching up, especially designs, some of Chinese brand showing their unique taste, and quite interesting too. On top of those things I mentioned, the other big pros of Chinese automobile, is that they are leading in the renewable energy vehiclez, especially byd. They are pushing hybrid in another level, their hybrid, is different from Toyota or Nissan or Hyundai, more like plug in hybrid, or phev , Some of their hybrid vehicles could offer more than 200km pure electric rang. That's is insane. Think about that you could drive everyday to work and home use electric motor only, and weekend or wanna go for a long trip, just fuel up and go. Much more convenient thany pure EV or just light hybrid vehicles.

Chinese cars are for the 1st time being sold in Japan. Hard to believe, but BYD have started selling the Atto 3 and the Seagull to the Japanese because for some reason the Japanese Auto Industry is reluctant to embrace EVs meaning that most Japanese EVs are nothing more than compliance cars, and as such are too expensive (Mazda ix30 and Toyota bZ4x).

Oh yea go try Toyota Yaris cross. It is more expensive than Chery and drives like shit. Look all these features, better than most of other cars in the same price range.

@@wcrash9361 I don’t care what they are called, I don’t like them and there are other brands still doing traditional autos. CVTs and DCTs are lame.

Have you ever considered the effectiveness of the Ccp in governing that massive population. Nearly a billion people out of poverty in 30 to 40 years. Wheras our governments are putting millions into poverty.

Not sure what you’re on about, because we haven’t deleted a single comment from this video - perhaps you tried to post something in the comments that triggered KZread’s automated comment filtering.

KZread comments sometimes go missing for no good reason. It’s not the channels fault. I’ve had this happen on many channels in the past. It’s a weird KZread issue.
