I hate that there's NO entry level wheels anymore with force feedback. Gone are the days where 150$ got you a nice Driving Force GT which had force feedback. Nowadays that same budget gets you a wheel without force feedback
So, not exactly in the same price range (about $170) but the Thrustmaster T150 is a great step up that works with PS5. It’s also a good intro wheel for sim racers. From there the next step is the T300RS and then a direct drive from a company like Fanatec. The Playseat challenge really makes a huge difference as well, an affordable seat and you’re actually sitting in a proper racing position (and no more sliding pedals!)

yh no one should buy the POS in the video. ''HIGH VIBRATION FEEDBACK'' if it doesnt have active force feedback using a motor to provide resistance to the wheel, dont buy it. . high vibration just means a rumble motor not a resistance motor. This just mjr taking a paycheck.

Helll yeah! The Full Throttle clip in the intro got me goosebumbed!
I like it like you said helps bring the arcade feeling to the home when you are playing with the wheel. Great video
Only $90?! My driving wheel was thousands...but to be fair it did have a car attached to it.
Good stuff, worth noting a lot of these super budget wheels use the analogue stick input as the reference rather than an actual steering rotation. So, that means sensitivity may initially be an issue but it's all good after a bit of practice and playing racing games with a wheel is always more rewarding.
What a random friend, never seen him before or even with the Metal Jesus Crew.
Really enjoy these kind of videos…. Wheels, flight sticks, light guns etc definitely take games up a notch.
I just can't get enough of that intro🤘head banging and air guitar🤘 Was interested in this product but i think i would have to have a clutch with my race wheel. Ive never had one or played one. $90 though is a deal. Love your channel jealous of your game room😉
The Hori Mario Kart Deluxe racing wheel is similar in setup for this and works great on the Switch for Horizon, Virtua Racing, OutRun, and obvious Mario Kart. I use it on PC with MAME too playing Daytona USA and Cruis'n USA.

There's also this driving wheel called PXN v3. I bought it for like $45 new and it's actually working lol. It feels very cheap like full plastic, only has 180° turn, no force feedback only vibrates, and no clutch pedal.

Really keen to know well does this wheel work with arcade ROMs on MAME? Is this suited for something like the Ridge Racer series for instance?
You can get a Thrustmaster T150 with force feedback for $50 more, they’re usually $200 but often go on sale.
I have been looking for something good to pair with my retro pi. I have been having issues with finding a good cheap wheel for things like Spyhunter, Offroad and Outrun. Even if just linking it to my PS4 controler to the system would would that would be enough. If you have the unit still could you do a test on your arcade to see if it would function?
Great vid man..I'm so proud that you included the Nintendo switch into the mix 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
My brother had something similar but recently upgraded to a full racing chair setup from Next Level Racing I think, great stuff.
Yello -the Race feeling! I have old G25 and it seems to be the same thing that it needs to be installed on firm desk and it was good that you mentioned that pedal will be moving on carpet floor.
Reprogramming the shift stick to work as the boost button on arcade racing games does sound fun
I'm not much into racing games , except for Mario kart and a few other classics. I learned lots of new things here that I would probably never search on my own had you not made this video. Love your content MJR! Thank you! 🎮👍

Thanks for this video. I’ve been looking for a decent arcade like racing wheel. I’m not a sim racing type of person so this would be right up my alley
I’m shook right now. I’ve had the same exact idea to hook this steering wheel up to a folding TV tray and then all of a sudden three seconds later, you did that in the video.
MetalJesus I highly recommend trying one of those more expensive options like thrustmasters ~ 300-500$ options. That paired with something like Playseat challenger is so awesome and also relatively easy to fold up to not take too much space !
It looks like a cool experience for playing driving arcade style racing games with a steering wheel and gas and break pedals but sadly at the end of the day I'm more of a using mostly controllers. That was a great video keep it up.😉👍

If you have a force feedback wheel and/or need a more stable base, using the Ikea coffee table Jason has there without the bottom shelf installed and sitting on a cushion on the floor works great!

this thing isnt real resistance force feedback, the listing says ''HIGH VIBRATION FEEDBACK'', a rumble motor basically lmfao
i was super hyped when i got a wheel with a 270 range. Learned the hard way, you are right, and if it doesnt have 900 degrees its not my setup. super dope for those cheesy racing games like hydro thunder, crazy taxi, cruzin games. just got to 5:30 oh with the pedals on carpet, my setup had a wall stopping the pedals, but if you have some velcro you can slap on the bottom(the scratchy side not fuzzy) it really helps with the slide
It's better when it's on your lap sat back on a sofa. A dishwashing bowl works trimmed a bit turned upside down with a pair of flip flops glued to it to stop it moving on your lap and a hole drilled in it for the wheel lock. Oh and some weights and a ice cube tray stop the pedals moving
I use a 5 pound laptop adjustable table with my Logitech wheel. The pedals fit right under it. Place a couple 8 pound hand weights around the base so it sort of presses it down. And one in front of the pedals. Works like a charm for me. That said, I am thinking about picking this up for the Switch alone. Last time I used a proper wheel playing Mario Kart was Dave and Buster in 2014.
I really love that song "Metal Jesus, Take the Wheel"
That foldable table, lol! Love it.
@2:37 just get a play seat challenge and do a review on it! 🎉
I’ve been thinking of getting a quality racing wheel for years now. Does anyone have experience with the logic tech g29. Is that a good racing wheel?
Great vid 😊
You should've put the 2 tables side by side and connected the wheel in the middle of both. Would probably make it like having one big table and be a lot more stable. Maybe even turn the tables side ways. The pedals could go in-between and then they wouldn't be able to slide away. Just put a leg either side .Just a thought if you were planning on playing it again
what tv were you playing on? is it an oled?
I think this would be an ideal wheel for a kid to use. I like how it plugs up to a switch though. Good review dude. I’m still loving that games room!
@proudofyourroots9575

i think it would be cruel to give this to a kid, looks inaccurate as hell and has no force feedback(motor provideed resistance) so youre not gunna be better with the wheel vs an analog. Imagine as a kid you got given a light gun that never fired where you shot it, always just randomly shoots 2 inches higher or to the right or whatever.
Not sure if you are interested in trying it out, but there are ways to play Mario Kart GP (the Japanese arcade version) and it works so great with a wheel because it was designed from the start to work with a wheel. Give it a shot, it's awesome!

Tis wheel is a literal piece of junk. It has no force feedback (when the wheel resists you turning like a real car) so will just feel like cheap junk. By the cheapest Logitech with ffb you can find. skip anything without ffb. Also only 270 degrees of turning angle, which is sh*t these days.
I thought Horizon Chase doesn't have wheel support.. has it been patched in now ?
I need a steering wheel set up. Maybe I'll check this one out.
The Hori MarioKart wheel seems very similar, picked that up for my son who is 4 and he plays Asphalt with it all the time. I tried Fzero64 with it and man that was tough. That one was only $75 the red kids version. You should check the MarioKart Pro one out, seems very similar and near pricepoint I think $100. Great vid.
@proudofyourroots9575
Жыл бұрын
The reason it was tough is because it doesnt have active force feedback. Have you ever used a steering wheel in the arcade? You know how it has active resistacne against you when you turn, increasing or decreasing depending on the turn you make? Thats what makes it better/easier to control as the resistance is an extra level of feedback. Without it , its worse than an anlog tbh.
compare to the Nintendo switch wheel, which one would be the best choice?
how thus it compaire to the official nintendo wheel on switch ?
I think a "real car seat" setup with room for your legs and properly mounted equipment would enhance any of these game experiences. For that price, it seems like there should be a more adjustable dead zone for more games. But I'm spoiled on prices, the last PC wheel and pedal I bought was $8, and I just got a CH Products Flight Sim Yoke (FSY211U) for $5.

A block of wood might help with the pedal issue. Or something to add more weight to it.
Hey MetalJesus, you rock 🤟🏼
Do I see massive input lag for the sim?
Any recommendation for one for Gamecube?
By the way I have almost the same desk for my Logitech wheel, but mine is steady, because I mounted little wooden notebook desk to the bottom of it (but it is really heavy so that’s why main desk for wheel stands good). On that notebook desk I put my pedals, and it is really funny because they have the same with as the notebook desk and it fits awesome.
you could get a small rubber mat to put the pedals on from staples or amazon

After my Driving Force GT broke, I've been looking for a new budget level wheel. I'm gonna take a look at this one.
I use the Logitech G920 with a shifter. Works great for games like Forza Horizon 5 and American Truck Simulator.
The "some reason" for connecting a PS4 controller is because otherwise the PS4 would ignore the device as it's unlicensed. The original controller, provides the PS security/authentication. The wheel is probably acting as the analog stick on the controller when used.
