Was thinking of buying the M232 but when you showed it on the 20$ bike you couldent really see the whole spider. Only a part of it 🤔 why?

Hehe. Zipties are more theft resistant - I’ve had lights stolen because they were mounted with silicone bands. Waste is minimal compared to the takeout industry, so I’m not sure your opinion is thorough on those. Also, you must understand that there’s a cost/complexity tradeoff. Of course the low-end ones aren’t programmable, because that adds cost. Not $950 of cost, yes, but until MonkeyLectric has competition, they can charge whatever they think people will pay. Ngl though, that tag has me thinking about learning how to Raspberry Pi or Arduino my own version 😅

You can definitely create your own set using some kind of microcontroller and it would still be cheaper than paying a 1000 bucks for these set of lights. There are also DIY kits that are cheaper and can still produce the same effect.

I've had success with them. bought 8 and put them all on one bike and was the Rolling Thunder of Cleveland for a time cause nobody had them at the time and if they did they didn't carry the amount I've had and I was riding road bikes with them. They worked for me just fine, my problem was finding them at all cause the one store that I did buy them from discontinued them cause they didn't have contact with the company or something along those lines and also the rubber that encased them wasn't long lasting either and I continually had to replace them constantly, but I stand by their ability to hold and draw attention. They made me look cool on a bike.

What I always dreamt about, adding extra weight out of balance in my wheel!

I used to work for this company. The lights work on persistence of vision, which is when your brain experiences a trailing effect from bright light. Live, most people's brains will interpret the blinking patterns as cohesive images, but a video camera will catch a frame-by-frame interpretation and look a lot like pie wedges of light. There is a camera setting known as a 360° shutter angle that can be used to make the lights look closer to what they do to the naked eye, but that leads to other parts of the video looking blurry, so you have to use editing software to mask sections of the video to use an "echo" effect with certain decay settings in order to approximate the real-life experience.

Man wish these were still around theyd make e bikes even cooler

my ebike lights are insanely cool, shame i cant show you, i use 3 spiral lights on each wheel, 9 spoke lit on each & 2 motion hub lights on each. drives the girls wild lol oh & three jbl xtreme 3's on both Hyper cruiser ebikes. life dont get any better.

Sadly there's no market for a item like this in one of the most bicycling country in the world, because it's not legal to but other than white and red lights on the bike, its a safety thing, and it makes sense

They went out of business earlier in 2021. They sent an email letting the customers know when it was official and people started buying what remaining inventory there was left. I have some luck finding their products from time to time, but it's difficult to find one that is USB rechargable.
