It was studied back when guillotine was used back in France that people are still alive few seconds after decapitation. The blood pressure quickly drops because of blood loss and with the shock to the nervous system unconsciousness follows fast. But it's not instant, people have been able to blink and move their eyes when asked after decapitation so the situation in this episode seems totally plausible.

You thought it was you who was in control, but it was I, Zeke! On a serious note, Zeke is very intelligent. The moment Eren didn't catch the baseball, he knew something was up. Because that symbolized them being on the same page. And so, Zeke wanted to believe Eren was on the same page as him, but in the back of his mind, he had doubts. And I like that he didn't have blind faith in Eren but approached the situation cautiously.

iirc it's usually something around 5-10 seconds. Plenty of time for the head to fly into Zekes hand.

Spoiler Alert in my comment Sadly the ending is too rushed that even make a plot holes here and there

Zeke and Eren entered the Paths realm at the same time. While Eren was being rebuilt, Zeke waited for what felt for years. According to him, during this time he learned a lot about the Founder Ymir and how things work in this realm, i.e the fact that she can build anything out of soil and the fact she obeys descendants of the Royal family like they are her masters. Because he reached the Paths realm without being tainted by the First King's ideology (since he didn't inherit the Founding Titan, he just came in contact with it as a Titan of Royal Blood) and by spending a lot of time with the Founder, he managed to render the Vow of Pacifism powerless. It's not precised exactly how. Then, he commanded the Founder Ymir to create fake chains made out of soil in order to trick Eren when he wakes up to see his true colors.

I can only imagine that “nullifying” the vow just meant asking Ymir to get rid of it. For a royal-blooded person who reaches the paths realm and Ymir via the Founding Titan, everything is as simple as that. Zeke just had the extra time to figure that out.

Thank you for appreciating the horror of Ymir’s situation. Most other reactors I’ve seen have not really thought about it

Just wait for another week. Swear as manga reader, your brain will explode even more after that

I mean, Zeke really cared about Falco and Colt, but if he didn't use his powers to transform the Titans, eren wouldn't be alive since the battle was kind of on Marley's favor, (since eren was on the ground, immobilized by Reiner)

Just to make it clear, Zeke was supposed to be chained because of the king Fritz ideals, the vow renouncing war that he imposed in the rest of the royalty. That king ( not the first one, King fritz existed 100 years ago) created the vow and thus none of his descendants as long as they are Royal blood could use the founding titan (represented with those chains) But Zeke's chains were fake, Zeke learned to break the vow renouncing war and he made those chains just to see if eren was going to betray him or not.

Season 1 2 3: Eren has the Key... Season 4 Ep 19: Eren is the Key... What a story!!!

So um, with Zeke saying that Grisha brainwashed Eren. I think he just assumes that (though that would definitely be a twist if that were right). Zeke's entire childhood was spent conditioning him to become Eldia's new hero, teaching him "the right history", forcing him to become a warrior, all without even feeling true love and affection. Grisha would bring Zeke to the Marleyan side as a kid, not to show him something nice that they couldn't have, but to show him what it felt like to be abused and oppressed by Marley. Grisha is very much the one that builds the idea of the Eldian Euthanization Plan in Zeke, giving him every reason to find the world a cruel and horrible place. So when, after so many years, Grisha's son, Eren, shows up as the new "hero of Eldia", of course he thinks he went through the same shit Zeke did

AJ is the only reactor I've seen who realises the true depths of the horrific torture-like existence of Ymir.

IIRC during the French Revolution there was a scientist who was sentenced to be put to death via the guillotine. He and his students decided to make it an experiment where he would blink as many times as he could. I seem to recall that he kept blinking either for twenty seconds or two minutes.

When AJ started screaming at the decapitation I thought I was gonna turn into a TItan. 😂😂😂 We love the ramble, dissecting and theorizing about the insanity of Attack on Titan. Yeah, rewatching will yield many good findings of foreshadowing and clarification, of course. Dropping the baseball is tantamount to Eren rejecting the plan from the beginning. Ymir being nothing but a slave is a great twist. This episode was one of the most anticipated moments, and the next episodes are even wilder. Can't wait for these reactions.

I think it far surpasses them, the rival were assault and Warhammer titan Declaration of war had a different feel to it so let's not compare it to any ep. If mappa had enough time then I don't know how much of a banger s4 could have been but I'm so impressed with this seasons adaptation

When Colt was convincing Zeke not to scream until Falco is out of range, Zeke understand how much Colt value his brother Falco. He understand it because he value Eren the same way Colt value Falco, that'd why he screamed in order to save his brother and that is Eren.

I really like the touch where Eren didn't catch the baseball given by Zeke. Zeke gave him that baseball as a replacement for a handshake as it's risky to touch. So Eren didn't catch that ball can be viewed as Eren rejecting Zeke's handshake, from his face Zeke seems shocked when he does that.

Zeke in the world of paths grows old waiting for Eren to recover in the world of paths after being shot by Gabi, he waits until he grows old in that world but in the real world time is very slow (different dimensions and core time). 2. so Eren is the key.. Eren has the founder titan and zeke is the beast titan, Zeke is not bound by the war oath of the first king. because it's not him who holds the founder titan, but Eren who owns the founder titan, then Ymir is the slave of the King.. he will follow what zeke says because he is the king of work but doesn't hold the founding titan. .. Zeke chained Eren and took him to see Eren's past, and the next episode will surprise how determined Eren is.

You need to know that human will be alive for short period (several seconds) after head get chopped, so until those time passed in real time he will be alive. This is already used in several media, one example on my mind is from the game Wolfenstein when main character head get chopped, but he was saved in first seconds and surged.
