Why do you guys who shows portfolio pages never go into google console or firefox ect? To see if its responsive ? as a web dev or frontend or fullstack - if you cant program responsive layout for various smarthpone or table screen sizes, then its auto a fail. Its not only your channel, but major all who shows us web sites, you never go into the responsive part

Not many Full Stack portfolio reviews out there and I look forward to watching more of them to know what a Full Stack portfolio should be like. #motivated
I disagree with the part of "removing animations". The fact that it shows that he knows how to use animations is a big plus. Almost every client will not care about the backend of their websites, they just want it to look nice and be interactive for the user. It all comes down to preference

Those animations are not smooth bro that’s why it’s better to remove then and then add them later once you mastered that skill.

Rual should get rid of the "My Skills" section and instead use icons of the languages or tools on the project cards. Therefore recruiters/devs will be able to see what technologies were used for each project. And on another note all that youre missing is that extra special sauce to differentiate yourself from the other grads and thats polishing up the UI of your application

This looks really nice actually.
honestly for a jr position this is perfect profile! dont worry to much about the UI its fine this way remember your a JR and its very impressive..i think joe is being a bit hard here..
@CodingPhase
Жыл бұрын
Na I’m not being hard I said under the hood the projects are solid. But clearly by looking at them you can tell it’s a jr developer who built it. I’m trying to push him to go further the projects are solid no to build anymore now it’s about polishing what’s there. Can he get a job with what he got yes but does he really want to make sure they don’t think twice to hire him… you be surprised what a lil bit more effort can do. This can be the difference of getting a 70k job or a 100k job…

The UI is what employers (and clients) see first though. A good UI gives the impression you know what clients expect, and what you're doing. He's selling himself short by not polishing off the UI's to such good projects.
I disagree with the "remove animation" firstly it shows that you are creative and you know how to use it. this is a great portfolio by far. keep it up
@CodingPhase
Жыл бұрын
The problem is just because you can do animations it don’t mean you have to animate it. Also if it’s cheesy animations.
Dang, these portfolio's are so intimidating. They are fresh graduate? Wtf, they look like they're professionals already and been in the business for years now. I am about to graduate this month now and I don't think I am even close to their skills XD.

Nice stuff there. Though I don't understand why you want his UI to be like that of PETSMART which clearly shows they didn't have much time on design, other than animation. He killed it. My take.

Sorry but for some reason the UI of website isn't visually appealing to me at all, it just looks like someone copied a template or something, Again it's my POV
At first glance, the UI/UX is really bad, but can't expect FS Dev to be well-versed in UI. Maybe could take a little effort on using good UI components. There are tons of guidelines online.

It's interesting seeing these but I wonder if they are necessary, I graduated in 2015 and have worked for 3 companies as a software engineer and i never had a portfolio website. My resume and projects/work I've done have always been enough for recruiters to take notice and as long as I can talk about what I've built/done and did well on the technical interviews.. they never even asked me for a portfolio website. i believe i can only recall 1 or 2 have asked if i had a portfolio website out of the 100's of recruiters I've spoken with during my time job searching 3 times within the last 7 years

Yes but remember something if you have a computer science degree from a decent university your journey is different than someone is self taught or learning online through resources. Your degree is what opens doors. I've met plenty of college graduates that have zero projects and zero portfolios but some how work at major companies... degree + leetcode is all ya need... that ain't the same for others do need a portfolio to show their skills.

Full Stack. My opinion is to stick to one thing and become really good at it.

True, but in coding everything is connected. For example i'm currently making a Website for my barber that users can use to book an appointment, and i found out that a telegram bot was a better idea for my barber to manage the database instead of an application or an admin view on the website (also because i'm making it to be so user friendly that the user will not even have to register), so i 'learned' python and i'm making commands so he can cancel, view and add appointments.
