    Yes!!! Fundamentals are key. I stopped caring about frameworks and started focusing on basic JavaScript fundamentals. Things like closures, lexical scope, prototypepal inheritance, functional programming and object oriented programming. Also, mastering the browser inspector and understanding all of the data you see on n the network tab, requests, responses, payloads, response codes, cookies, snippets. These aren’t as attractive as the latest and greatest frameworks which is why most KZreadrs don’t highlight these things.

    I think Joe has some valid points by starting out with Web content management and email developer so you can get your feet wet. And while you do that, you can learn full stack development, develop some applications, and get out there and network with people through Meetups and online discords so that senior developers and hiring managers are aware of you which can increase your chances of getting a full stack position. Might take a year or two and it won’t be easy

  • @CodingPhase
    @CodingPhase3 күн бұрын

    Bro we are talking about learning the skills to be a content editor or email developer. That don't take more than 2 months if you actually put in the work in those 2 months. Now to find the job I've seen people get hired at little as one week after having there portfolio and projects... but that's not the norm it still might take you another 2 months to get a job... so 4 months in total... that's facts but again it all depends on you and your background. So when I say 2 months we talking about learning the skill!!!

    I suggest people work on building projects that will generate income. Not just freelancing. Build actual apps and sites that will make money. If people can make money making KZread videos of babies, cats and dogs, then there are ways to turn coding/programming skills into revenue generating applications.

    The engineering industry is getting bad. I've been an engineer for 10+ years now, and the salary doesn't even cover the bills anymore. How can engineers unionize across the country and make the movement go viral? Corporations can pay us more. They just choose not to!!!

    I agree with this. I’ve got my frontend certification, but I’m starting to look at specializations. I’ve been building Wordpress sites for the past five years at a hobby level, so I am comfortable with it. Wordpress can be tedious to work with so it wasn’t my first choice but It allows you to be creative quickly, which is cool and there’s less competition.

    Shipfa.st is boilerplate code. A lot of people think it's a full app plug and play. You actually have to know what to do with the code when you get it. 😂 Don't be discouraged by the numbers buying it. I would say .00125% will build something and out of that .1% will see it all the way through to launch. So MAYBE 5 people all year. MAYBE.

    Tech jobs aren’t all glitter and gold especially if the manager sucks. In most cases a tech job will be overwhelming and you’ll feel like there’s not enough time in the day, and if you’re lucky enough, you’ll have managers that are sympathetic to that and make sure you have the tools and support that is necessary to be more efficient at your job.
